A delightful simple hotel - nothing fancy, but very large rooms (suites, almost) in a historic building. Very quiet location, close to everything in the town - 2 minute walk to the thermal baths. Very gracious and hospitable staff, English spoken. I would happily return.

My access code didn't work but that was quickly resolved over the phone . Opening the door I realised what a beautiful house this had been and that it had been renovated to the highest standard. The rooms are equally luxurious including every detail, the furniture, bathroom beds etc ,the best quality and tastefully decorated. I highly recommend this gorgeous house.

We were warmly greeted upon our arrival, offered coffee or tea and shown to our room, which was beautiful. The coffee was not to our liking as we like strong Italian-style espresso, but it is hard to get that anywhere in the entire region, so it's nothing unexpected. If you like French or American-style coffee, you'll be fine. The decor in the room is absolutely stunning. There is a nice bed on a higher level in the room and we were glad to remember it when we would get up to use the bathroom at night. The distance to La Bresse-Hohneck is also pretty convenient at only about 15 minutes or so. The bed was comfortable and the room had plenty of storage space and room to move. Both the room and the bathroom were spacious and lovely. While the water-pressure was low and it took a while for the water to get hot, once it did, it was hot enough. The lack of TV enabled us to disconnect a bit, so we didn't mind that at all. The room was well heated and was lovely. When we arrived we were grateful that it hadn't snowed in over a week because the property is at the top of a very steep hill. Even without ice nor snow, we had a tough time getting to the top as the tires got stuck once in the loose gravel. While our initial welcome was warm, that night and the next day was not as welcoming. First, we were suddenly told to leave our shoes in the entryway and we were given old slippers to wear instead. Mine had 2 left feet. The next morning, I went back in to get my husband's helmet, and the woman shushed me as if I were a child. A grown woman paying to stay at an establishment should never be shushed for mere footsteps, especially when they were nothing out of the ordinary. In fact, when we returned from skiing, we went to take a nap before dinner and had to sleep accompanied to the cacophony of shrieks, screams and yells of multiple children running up and down the hall and jumping down the stairs for hours. She did not shush them, though. We had requested a quiet room, but were placed next to a room with loud screaming children. In fact, our room stated that it had a private entrance, but that was not true. There was supposed to be access to an "Executive Lounge", but that is nothing more than the entry room of the property. WiFi did not work in our room, nor throughout the property. It would connect but immediately disconnect each and every time. The property does not take credit cards. There are buskers in London taking credit cards but not this establishment. It's 2019! How are there still people in business who don't take credit cards? There is one ATM in Gerardmer...good luck finding it. If you're only going to accept cash, please get the change right. It was very strange to get a breakfast charge added in, when we hadn't had any breakfast. There's only one table, she would have seen us for sure. Then when it was pointed out, the change given back was still for the wrong total, so we had to point it out yet again. If you don't mind loud children, a woman shushing you, a steep hill, or paying in cash, then the place is lovely and there would be no other reason why you shouldn't stay there.

We had booked 2 apartments(for 4 adults and 3 children) with booking.com. We had a few issues prior to our departure regarding the location of the apartments and the rather unorthodox way the Hotel had helped themselves to money in our bank account. With all the reassurance from Booking, we decided to go ahead and looked forward to our family holiday. After being delayed in Calais, we were unable to get to the resort before 7.15pm (closing time for the reception desk) so we contacted them to let them know we would be arriving at around 8pm. We were told we should try harder to be there on time because our keys would have to be left in an envelop stuck on the reception door for everyone to see Our accommodation was nowhere near the one described and confirmed by Booking.com: 1- we were in the Soyottes,a good 15-20 minutes walk uphill from the main building/swimming pool ( Not the 5 minute walk Booking.com had confirmed to us in writing after contacting Azureva on our behalf). Our block was the furthest away on the whole estate. 2- We were allocated 2 flats and a separate twin room instead of the 2 self contained apartments we had chosen: *Flat 34 is on one level and has a big bedroom with a double bed and 2 singles which were allocated to my brother and sister in law and their son by Azureva. Contrarily to Booking's description the flat did NOT have the following: desk, cable TV, kettle oven, nor a sofa. On the positive it had amazing views of the mountains. * Flat 35 is smaller, had a small living area and one bedroom with a double bed only which was allocated to my husband and me. It was very dark and had view on the mess that was the car park and grounds surrounding the complex. Again, the following were missing: desk, cable TV, kettle, oven, sofa , two beds for our two children Also the actual front door lock was broken which meant that the accommodation was not lockable from the outside. And the shower was leaking and the fridge door broken! *Room 33, twin room allocated to our 10 and 12 year old boys which was unacceptable as they could not be left in a room on their own. We went to reception first thing the next morning to raise all of the above concerns and try and get to some kind of acceptable outcome. However, we were told we were allocated the accommodation we had paid for. Also, according to Christiane ( the lady at the desk), it was Booking.com's fault for using the wrong flat pictures and description. There was no way we could have been given a studio flat with mezzanine at that price close to the pool ( She blamed Azureva head office for promising us that). Also she told us there was no such thing as sofas or kettles in the flats. When we asked if there was anyway we could have been relocated to somewhere else, the answer was NON as the resort was full. We then asked if there was any chance we could have a kettle or a toaster, again the answer was NON.We asked if we could at least have an iron, I was asked for a caution of 50 euros. The whole week, we kept going back to reception as no repairs had been carried out. We were told everyday that it was on the caretaker's to do list... The pool was cold and only open between 10-12 and 3-7 and the woman in charge was very rude at times. There is no shop on site ( not even for the bare essentials) so you have to drive down to Bussang town centre and the nearest supermaket is a good 15min away. This is without a doubt the worst holiday we have ever been on as it really put a big strain on the whole family. We love Les Vosges but we will never go anywhere near Azureva Bussang again.

Very nice place in Gerardmer with super view of the lake and the village from our apartment. We were 6 so we had rented a 3 bedroom apartment. it had everything you need and was very cozy. Clean, not to far from the city center and very reasonably priced. Will definitely return whenever I get the chance.

Nice apartments in the middle of the Vosges area. Stayed here for a cycling weekend early May with 5 friends. Apartments are clean, but as you expect in France relatively small. 2 bath rooms with all necessary amenities. Can recommend this for a cycling weekend. You have to have a car to go out for dinner as there is not a lot close to the apartment.

Come and taste the charm, comfort and magic of wood… Savour the peace of the apartments in our residence, reconnect with your roots, enjoy a time of pleasure which will become an unforgettable memory…
Really good accommodation, but they do not provide sheets for the beds or towels. They can provide them, 9 euros per bed and 5 per set of towels. They will offer you logs for 6 euros for your wood burner, don't immediately accept it, our apartment was extremely warm, they are not needed. Another tip, they offer bread and pain au chocolate etc, ready for collection from 8 am. These are quiet expensive options and cheaper at the patisserie or Super U in La Bresse.
