The town that gave the country (and port wine) its very name, Porto is Portugal’s second-largest metropolis after Lisbon. Sometimes called Oporto, it's an age-old city that has one foot firmly in the industrial present. The old town, centered at Ribeira, was built on the hills overlooking the Douro River, and today is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The 14th-century São Francisco church is a main attraction, as are the local port wine cellars, mostly located across the river at Vila Nova de Gaia.

Located in a privileged area of Oporto, and dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries, the Condes de Azevedo Palace offers an elegant and classic oasis, with all the necessary commodities of the 21st-century traveler. Initially built as the home for the "Condes de Azevedo", the Palace owned by Viscount Francisco Lopes de Azevedo Velho da Fonseca de Barbosa Pinheiro Pereira e Sá served various purposes throughout its time. Probably its most iconic role, was when a typography was set up, essential for the "First Portuguese Grammar" in 1536, having translated other essential works of Cervantes and Virgílio. Newly converted to the Condes de Azevedo Palace, it offers 19 5-star apartments spread out through three floors, a common garden patio, private parking, and a very comfortable breakfast lounge to start your day in the best way possible.
The Palace is perfectly situated to all of the tourist attractions. The staff was very friendly and always willing to help. I stayed in a 2 bedroom 3 bathroom unit. It also had a kitchen and living room on the 1st floor. On the 2nd floor, there was another sitting room in front of the other bedroom. On hotels.com, the bedrooms were listed as having queen beds, but each bedroom had a king bed. Continental breakfast was brought to the room every morning at your time of choosing. It's really a full breakfast. I ended up putting alot of it in the fridge and would snack off of it throughout the day. I highly recommend this place!

Centrally located in the heart of historic Porto, Aparthotel Oporto Alves da Veiga offers modern self-catering accommodatio with all services, garden, Pool, elevator and Parking. As a fully refurbished building, our guests will experience the beautiful old ceilings, and old hand painted tiles. The street is very quiet, so it is possible to experience the busy Oporto life in the small narrow streets, and return to the quiet of home.
Just a fab apartment in an old converted building, really spacious apartment could sleep 6 comfortably . Quirky layout with character that makes this different. Joana, what a star, sorted everything . Highly recommend if visiting Porto .

We stayed 4 nights at the Oca Vitoria in Porto. If you are booking, the Oca Vitoria and the Oca Flores are two sides of the same hotel complex with the check in desk on the Flores side. If you get dropped off at the Vitoria entrance you will encounter a large mostly empty room. There is a phone with no instructions that will help you contact the front desk. The room we were assigned was well equipped and very spacious with a full kitchen. We thought it was worth the premium price we paid. We had only two issues, it was advertised as a studio with a view of the cathedral but there was no view, and the beds were very hard. We booked the breakfast buffet which involved seating in a beautiful high-ceilinged room. The breakfast had variety but no changes day to day. The food in the covered 'heated' containers was cold on 2 of 3 days. Great coffee and fresh fruit. Desk staff were helpful, friendly, and fluent in English. This is a lovely property in a great location and could be a 5 with some attention to detail and better beds.

Located in the heart of Oporto city, the Oporto Trendy Apartments has 15 luxury apartments in 3 magnificent buildings in order to offer you a stay in a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere.
My wife and I stayed in Apartment Cedofeita on the second floor. This accommodation was included as part of a 7 day bike tour we were taking with Sportours in Porto. We stayed here for the length of the tour. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were able to keep our bikes on site so it was very convenient. It is centrally located to the train/metro stations we needed to access for our tour and nicely located to quickly get to key locations within Porto by foot or bicycle. We took advantage of the very close by Lavandaria Marlinwash to do laundry. Clean and accessible. There are a variety of grocery options within a couple of blocks and a variety of restaurants and other shops. Very clean, very friendly, very helpful, nicely located. We enjoyed our stay.

The guesthouse is in a good location in a nice and safe neighbourhood, a little out of the city centre. Very close to the Metro station Marques, I got there from the airport conveniently and it’s just a short ride into the city centre and the old town. I’ve also walked a few times downtown and back and it’s an enjoyable, safe walk. The room was lovely and superbly clean with nice, modern decor. I enjoyed the little balcony with the view of the church next door. The staff were super friendly and despite the member of staff I spoke with did speak almost no English, everything went super smooth with no problems at all. I’d definitely recommend. I might have just gotten unlucky with someone staying in the room above who’s heavier built or walks in a rather stomping manner and this might not be to do with the room/property. However, the noise from someone walking upstairs was so loud, it was impossible to sleep in late (even with earplugs) as it was so bad, the room would even shake. There’s definitely no footfall sound insulation but the noise (and shaking) was so extreme that I really wonder whether it might have just been unlucky with the person in the room upstairs. Might also not be a problem in other rooms of the guest house but in the room I occupied (room Rose) it’s a real issue if you want a lie-in on your holiday.

It’s hard to rate and give only a 3 as the room itself is very pleasant. The price and location are really good to! However…….check in is literally at 3pm as there is no one there to greet you. Secondly the rooms aren’t sound proof so I woke each and every night to the sound of people walking around in the other rooms, several times!! Lastly a point on location! If you intend to spend lots of time along the river or even across the river then this is 5/5. If you wish to roam the streets of the city then be mindful that the hills are like mountains to climb! On a couple of occasions we ordered an Uber for a couple of euros and then walked back, that’d be my top tip! Oh, almost forgot! There is a tram that literally runs past the front door so make sure you look left and right when exiting the building!

We had 5 lovely nights here, our top floor apartment was superb (a note of warning, lots of stairs, but the apartments on the lower floors are also lovely) from check in to leaving everything was perfect, Tatiana and Diego were great, fantastic recommendations for restaurants and things to do, you have the use of a smart phone which is very useful. Porto is a lovely, but hilly city (bring good walking shoes), we loved our time in the city and a big part of that is staying here.
