Firstly I must point out that many of the reviews for these apartments are totally erroneous, I think because there are several Swiss Star properties in Zurich and there is also a Hotel California, so there must have been some confusion. The Correct name for these apartments is Swiss Star California and Booking.com gives the address as 125 Asylstrasse and the picture on their web site is definitely of the property I stayed at. There is no reception and there is no owner/manager. The only staff member I encountered during my stay was a female cleaner. The entrance to the apartments is at the side of the building, you will be emailed a code that operates both the key pad to the door and to your room shortly before arrival Each code is unique so it is essential you memorize it or write it down. Confusingly there are two two key pads but only the smaller one on the right is operational. Once inside there is no reception, a short flight of stairs leads up to a door leading into the ground floor restaurant, however the restaurant operates independently of the apartments and cannot help with any queries or problems. Continuing up the stairs you see a vending machine and a coffee machine, very handy I thought, but unfortunately neither worked. Not a good start. The room however was fine with double aspect windows making it bright and sunny. The French windows led onto a balcony with a table and two chairs. It is equipped with a small kitchen unit with hob, microwave and kettle all in working order, low on cutlery and crockery though. Our bed was comfortable, the WIFI was excellent and the bathroom, though small, had an efficient shower and hot water was constant, good sized telly too. A fair bit of noise unfortunately both from other guests and the main road outside, though the trams don't operate all night. Biggest problem though is the restaurant downstairs that attracts a youthful clientele and music carries on way past midnight. Location is good in a residential area with frequent tram services to both the city centre and the main railway station. There is a Coop supermarket a short walk away where you can buy very nice ready meals to eat in the apartment. The downstairs restaurant is reasonable in price and the food is not at all bad there Main drawback would be lack of staff in case of emergency and it's worth noting that I ran into several guests encountering problems getting into the building, if you lose your code you're in trouble. Still consider this a good choice for people on a budget though.

I booked a stay with them via Booking.com on a non-refundable rate back in October 2019 for September this year. Due to the COVID19 situation and the Australian government's decision to ban all international travel indefinitely, we had to change our travel plans. I asked them to help change the dates of travel to September 2021 free of charge as this change is outside our control. Not only did their customer service team decline that request, they instead told us to pay an extra AU$ 250 charge for this change . I have never seen such heartless, pathetic and horrible customer service. I have since decided to ask for a refund due to forced circumstances and legal laws about not being able to travel due to government restrictions. Despite trying to sort this out since April this year with them, I'm currently still fighting to try and get this situation resolved. I have been left so frustrated, irritated and annoyed by my experience here that now I'll not stay with this property even if they offer me a free date change. I have seen dogs have more compassion and understanding than these people. Absolute disgrace to Switzerland and their tourism industry!!

The flats are located close to the Letzigrund stadium, near the city center of Zurich and is directly accessible to public transportation. All the tourist attractions such as the Grossmunster, the Fraumunster, the old part "Niederdorf" or the lake can be reached from the holiday apartments within 20 minutes. The main railway station is directly reachable by bus in about 15 minutes and also by car it is easy to get to the apartments. Shopping possibilities are in the immediate vicinity and the major shopping streets such as the "Bahnhofstrasse" can be reached from the holiday flats in 15 minutes by bus.
The employee made a mistake and took from the card of my friend 355CHF instead of taking 255CHF. So after he took 355CHF, he took anothed 255 without telling us anything about that. As soon as we realised what happened, we wrote an email and they cancelled the tsansaction, but the money is pledged and not in our possession yet. After that the banc account was empty and if we hadn't another credit card in our possession, we would really have a huge problem. After 4 days my friend is still working this out with his bank, who says that it may take a month to have his money back. Also, we sent them email TWICE asking them if it was possible to leave our luggages somewhere in the building, because our flight departure was at 9:00pm, however they NEVER responded.

Thessoni home is a self check in Boarding Hotel with breakfastservice only. You may use all restaurants and bar as well as the Service of the nearby full Service Hotel Thessoni classic. Are you a long-term guest? Many apartments and suites have kitchen (extra charge) and terrace. On the ground floor is sophie'sWOHNKUCHE & Bar, where you can cook also for yourself, as well as a fitnessLOFT. Breakfast: Saturday - Monday only in the Thessoni classic next door, which offers more amenities.
I stayed here for several weeks and appreciated the fast wifi needed for my telecommuting. The bed was comfortable, room spacious, and the shared amenities were accessible. The gym is really good for a hotel gym! You are a 2-minute walk from the train station and with a train to Zurich every 30 minutes, it is easy to get into the city. Nice places for running or walks nearby.

Avoid! as it doesnt have a reception and its self check-in, its used for prostitution and therefore it has a dodgy / dangerous vibe. Please avoid for safety. Additionally if you call the guest service for support the team is extremely rude and insulting, they sent a person at the end but he didnt speak English as he was indian. Please avoid this place.

This hotel is located in the western suburbs of Zurich, in a quiet residential area. Quiet that is during the night. In daytime, there are three busy construction sites around the hotel with one at the time of this writing being in the process of demolition. To be fair, in the cold season with the window closed it was hardly a problem. The floor-to-ceiling window takes up one whole wall of the room opening on a large terrace (my room was on the top floor). Should be great for enjoying balmy Zurich midsummer nights but hardly an asset in late fall (except for smokers). The glass door opening onto the terrace is big, does not tip and is not suited for room airing. I found the bed to be on a poor side, narrow and with a mattress that kept sliding off its box base. The pillow, on the other hand, was as good at gets, definitely an asset. The bedside light was not suited for reading in bed. Thumbs up for a secure internet. Shower room was basically fine but the shower cubicle a bit tight in the waist for me and the washbasin had an XS size. The wardrobe is awkwardly divided in such a way that the longer section turned out too short for hanging up an overcoat. A small worktable is set in a niche with the user blocking both daylight and the light from the ceiling lamp. There is no source of light in the niche proper. As this is an apartment hotel, there is a kitchenette with a small fridge, two hot plates and a microwave. For the use of cutlery, plates and pots there is a daily charge that adds up to about 25% of the room rate. The rate I got was all right, but just about, so no home-cooked spaghetti for me. The microwave though proved to be just great for heating ready meals obtained from the supermarket down the road. All in all, seems like a fair deal.

...130 Swiss francs for a very basic and poor accommodation. Hairs on the towel and dirty socks in the wardrobe! Smell from a kitchen below coming up all along the stairs. Shameful...the beauty of the city pay you back.

I chose this apartment for its proximity to the training place i was attending. It is one stop by bus 72 from Silhcity, a mall and more tram lines. You can catch here tram 10, 13 to the Zurich Main Station. The flat I stayed in was very basic, but very clean. Some dilepidation can be found on where the wall and floors meet, normal wear and tear, some spots on the white walls. Fixtures and fittings were all working well, heating, shower, kitchen, toilet all working smoothly. It was fairly quiet at night but you can hear other tenants coming home and opening doors, there are around 40 flats, around 6-7 on each floor, there is elevator. I would stay here again. The easiest checkin checkout process I ever saw!
