25th wedding anniversary - Digby NS

Reviewed By JandS78TO

The second leg of our 25th wedding anniversary was in Digby NS and we chose to stay at the Dockside Complex and it was Amazing. As we arrived very early, the staff allowed us to leave our luggage at the front desk while we had a bite to eat at their restaurant, Fundy Restaurant as they finished setting up our room. The meal was delish, Lobster and Scallops, sooo fresh right from the ocean outside their door. The wait staff was friendly, shout out to Monica who took care of us. We sat on the patio, overlooking the bay. What an amazing first meal. Once we were done and full our room was ready and what a surprise was in store. Dean the owner had also upgraded our room for.our anniversary to their newest suite, a gem of a suite! As we walked up to that black door with 38A on the door our jaws dropped. The room was luxurious... Open concept.. brand new.. and the bathroom was big with a TV and fireplace, a huge wall to wall shower. The main room had a full kitchen a beautiful marble counter and leather stools. The King size bed facing a huge LED TV and equally stunning fireplace. Finally a full size couch and leather chair leading you the balcony, with that amazing view of the Bay. It felt like a high rollers suite In Vegas, not a coastal town in the East Coast of Canada. We've never stayed in anything so affordable yet luxurious. We absolutely loved it at the Dockside Complex, the Fundy Restaurant and even got to let loose at Club 98 ( also owned by them) with some video slots. Drink and music. Club 98 is one of the very few things open in Digby late so it was a relief coming from the night life of Toronto. We can not say enough about Dean and his team at the Dockside complex/Fundy Restaurant/ Club 98 ..Great Food, Beautiful views and Amazing staff. Thank you and we looking forward to staying at the Dockside Complex in Digby NS again. Happy Travels!

When you're paying $400-500/night you expect exceptional quality for the stay and ease of service ... instead ... From the day of my arrival it was one thing after another ... the fact that I had to pay for my whole stay plus the deposit upon check in is ridiculous ... my room smelled like wet dog when I arrived and had to set up me leaving for an hour so they could come in and ionize it (not sure what that is), the room was also dirty, all surfaces (wiped them down myself) ... also, the porch was filthy (full of bird droppings) I had to call front desk to have it spray washed. There was no replenishing of soap or lotion ... I asked for replenish of coffee n sugar and was told I needed to pay for it!!

Beautiful and spacious lifts!

We recently stayed at Les Lofts St. Joseph and WOW were we impressed! The loft was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated! It had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The location was great - not too far from old Quebec City and close to lots of cute shops and restaurants (you have to check out the poutine restaurant across the street!) Parking was a little bit of a walk but we didn’t mind so much. We are already planning on coming back in the summer!

Amazing Value, Amazing Property, Amazing Location!

Reviewed By JessTravelsAndEats

This property is fantastic! We had a group of 6 adults (3 couples) and stayed in the 3 bedroom townhouse. Each couple got their own bathroom (only one was an in-suite) which was an excellent feature. The unit had everything we needed to make dinner (we opted to cook at home more often than eating out). It was also very well stocked with lots of extra towels. There are 2 hot tubs on premises but during our stay, only one of them was open so in the evenings there was a wait to use it but it was well worth it (so relaxing!). This is a great home away from home, complete with washer and dryer. The property is located with easy access to restaurants and shopping in town, but also right along the highway that takes you to other beautiful destinations along the coast when you want to explore outside of Sooke. Check in was easy and the communication from the property management team was great. We did have a minor trouble with the Simplex lock on that first day because we weren't sure how it worked. Clearer instructions would have been super helpful but once it we figured it out, it was easy to work. Loved the stay and I look forward to returning!

This facility exceeded our expectations! Customer service from the telephone booking agents, the attention to detail in the rooms, cleanliness and location to all the amenities in Old Quebec made our stay one to remember. The rooms are unique, very comfortable and the decor is tastefully done. Much more fun than a cookie-cutter luxury hotel room! We will definitely be back!

Chalets sur le Fjord

Beautiful location and good resort

Reviewed By panama40ca

The Chalets are great. Well kept, nice space and very comfortable set up. The location is great to explore the Saguenay Region. We went early November and the area was very quiet. A lot of tourist places, restaurants and museums were closed, but there are great hiking trails and viewing locations available. Town people were very friendly. The one major draw back of the Chalet we stayed in are the beds. Both queen beds in unit 39 (2 bedroom) were absolutely horrid. There is no support, couples roll toward the middle due to breakdown of mattress, which results in sore backs and poor nights sleep - no matter how young you are. A reservation through RCI also seems to be treated poorly. We were given a back row Chalet with very limited view, despite there being only 1 other chalet occupied for a few days. The resort was basically empty with no activity. Bottom line - I would recommend this resort, wonderful chalets, well kept, beautiful location and easy access to surrounding towns, villages and hiking trails.

Room was disgusting ( dirty) and it took over 45 minutes for the staff to find an alternative solutuon to the problem. I tried calling ( front desk doesn't answer) and so 2x I physiclaly walked to the front desk and there was nobody there. It's such a strange set up. Upon arrival, the front desk gal was unfriendly and seemed to be bothered by our arrival. The beds were terrible and uncomfortable ( infact, the worst bed I've ever slept in). They provide ear plugs.. hmm.. red flag! Now I know why. The rooms are so noisy-pipes with water-you can hear every trickle, trains going past all night and day, footsteps etc. It was horrible. I will never stay here again, nor would I recommend anyone else stay. This was WAYYYY over priced and poor attention to details. I was afraid to use the hot tub after how disgusting the room was and after reading about previous guests getting their bathing suits ruined due to hot tub chemicals imbalanced. Don't waste your money! Look elsewhere. I've stayed at everything between tents, hostels and 5 stars, but this was pathetic.
