Running along Germany’s southern border with Austria, the Bavarian Alps are one of the country’s most beautiful areas. Skiing is, naturally, one of the favorite pastimes. You’ll find Germany’s tallest mountain, Zugspitze, rising more than 9,700 feet in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district (also a great hiking area in summer). Berchtesgadener Land (home to Watzmann, Germany’s third-highest peak) is another major ski area. Hochwanner, the country’s #2 mountain, is also in the Alps.

The house is well located. Not so far from city centre. There is small bakery in the house and swimmingpoll is nearby. Parking is close and big. No problem to find free place. Disadvantages: Cleanness should be improved - shelf was so dusty so it´s hard to beleive it was cleaned this year. Cookware was quite dirty so. I booked appartmens, but I received room with extremly small kitchenette hidden it the cupboard. The reception is open until 6 p.m., if you come later, you have to go to reception next day. They open at 9 a.m. So forget to long whole day trip :-( Wi-fi signal was weak. Bathroom - great catastrophe, need general reconstruction. Shower was broken, I had to use shower in second room.

House Jaegerfleck is located only steps from the Nationalpark Bavarian Forest. The house is suited on a large idyllic property. You can hike and x-country ski right from this place. You'll feel highly comfortable here if you're a naturelover.Bus and train in all the Nationalparkarea is free of charge.
We ( family of 2 adults and 2 kids 10+5 y/o) rented the Lusen apartment for a week. The apartment is just perfect: tastefully designed, spacious ,spotlessly clean and equipped with everything that you may need. The beds are comfortable. The sauna is very nice and relaxing. The owner, Annette, is very friendly and she's always ready to help. Annette gave us a lot of useful advises about sightseeing in the area. The location is also perfect . A lot of attractions are in 30 minutes to one hour driving distance. In addition, there're numerous well signposted forest trails, some of them start just next to the house ( we recommend picturesque trail to Steinclamm). The big forest playground is located within 5 minute walking and it really was the paradise for our kids. Highly recommend!!

We went to Geitau for a wedding and and stayed at the Der Schmiedhof. The owner, Bridgett communicated well throughout booking and while we were there. The rooms are spacious and very well appointed. Great kitchen area, spacious bedroom, living room area and bathroom. In the main area are wonderful books to peruse while you are sitting in a fun, comfy chair that is suspended from the the ceiling. Amazing experience! Hope to return. Great, great value for the price.

I booked a family room for my family of 5 to stay 2 nights on a weekend in June. The hotel is obviously outdated- and not in a charming way. A musty smell permeates the building and the lighting is eerie and poor. The rooms have stained and horribly uncomfortable mattresses, sheets that do not fit over the grossly stained pull out couch mattress, old and stained furniture, and pillows that flatten to the width of a piece of paper in seconds. Our single bathroom sink would not drain, and despite 4 complaints from us, as well as several requests for more pillows, no one addressed our issues. We brushed our teeth in the shower water until my husband located a plunger in the pool area, making our sink able to eventually very slowly drain. The shower doors would not close properly and left the floor slick with a puddle. We left the room to tour Salzburg and housekeeping came by, making beds and taking out trash, but the standing water, hair and dirt filled sink managed to escape their attention. The towels were literally falling apart. No fridge, microwave, or hair dryer. No extra blankets or soiled clothes bag. The hotel is on a busy road and there is no A/C, so with open windows you’d better bring ear plugs if you want to sleep. The indoor pool area was outdated and there were used towels strewn about the chairs and tables. Nothing special here, but we did appreciate having a place outside the room to be in. On the plus side, the breakfast was pretty good with varied cold and warm offerings, well stocked and of adequate freshness. The newest thing in the hotel is the nice espresso and coffee maker in the breakfast room. There is no other meal or food offered at this location, but it is walking distance to at least a couple of other great restaurants. There is no one competent manning the desk location either. At 5 pm on a Friday night I had to call from a phone left at the desk to summon someone for check in. Late in the evening my husband asked the front desk worker, who was outside drinking beer and smoking a cigarette, if he could buy a couple beers from the front desk area fridge. The man said sure, and told my husband he’d come up to the room to deliver the beers. You guys, it never happened. He even pretended to write down the room number but had zero intention of following through. Pretty sure he’s the only one who drinks the beers near the front desk. I don’t know what’s up with that guy but we witnessed him leaving the property and returning some time later, too. If there’s an emergency while you’re here, you’re screwed. The plugged in phone in the room also has no dial tone. WiFi is weak at best. Besides the good breakfast, the only other redeeming quality for this hotel in the stunning view. But Mother Nature did that on her own. For the money and out of respect for yourself, stay elsewhere!!

The accommodation was simply first class, beautifully furnished, clean and very comfortable. The apartment we stayed in had stunning mountain views and it was lovely to sit on the balcony and take in the scenery. The owners are very helpful and arranged for fresh bread rolls to be delivered and left outside our door every morning . They also suggested walks we might like to do and places to visit. The town of Mittenwald is very pretty and is a short walk from the accommodation. Many of the houses are beautifully decorated with paintings on the outside walls, there are plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes but we found that they tended to close quite early at about 10.00 pm. We absolutely loved Bavaria as a holiday destination and we would definitely stay at Haus Rustika again.
