The nine islands that make up the Azores are in fact the peaks of some of the world's tallest mountains, reaching from deep beneath the Atlantic. The once-uninhabited, volcanic archipelago now hosts thousands of tourists every year who flock to the islands for sun, sand and verdant mountain scenery. From the beaches of Praia da Vitoria to the bustling marina of Horta, to the bubbling volcanic ground "ovens" of Furnas, these islands offer unparalleled--and unusual--adventures to discover.

This Hotel is ideally placed - with a easy stroll to the centre or harbour. I stayed here with my adult son on a whale watching holiday. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment which gave us plenty of space and a room each to sleep in. There is a pleasant indoor pool which you need to book as well as an outdoor pool. The staff were fantastic- something we have found everywhere we’ve been in Ponto Delgada. There are a number of restaurants close by. We had bed and breakfast - breakfast is varied and plentiful. Overall prices are reasonable and on a par with local cafes and restaurants. The whole area is beautiful with friendly and helpful locals.

Located in the Azores Island of Pico, this 4 star Hotel is part of the Wine Tourism Project Ramal do Calhau in Madalena's town. Comfortable and Sophisticated, Vinhas do Calhau is in tune with the different sceneries of the Island: UNESCO's Vineyard Cultural Site, the Atlantic Ocean and Pico Mountain. With spacious apartments, a welcoming reception and breathtaking views, this hotel will be your home here in Azores and can certainly bring the essence of Pico to it's guests: a starting point to explore and discover the Island. Welcome to Vinhas do Calhau!
My husband and I spent two nights in one of the oceanfront rooms at this beautiful property and are already trying to figure out when we can travel back to Pico for a longer stay. The view was amazing - not only from the large balcony with very comfortable chaise lounge chairs but even when just sitting at the dining room table enjoying a meal and looking through the large glass doors. The minibar was well stocked and fairly priced - whole bottles of wine for 10-15 Euros were especially appreciated! Tons of space and very friendly helpful service. Claudia provided a map with handwritten notes on it to give us true insight to the best restaurants and places to visit. She also scored us a last minute fishing trip with a local company. If you want a clean, well-decorated, spacious room with a view, in a convenient location, along with personal service, this can’t be beat.

This hotel is the perfect combination of luxury and natural beauty. With views of the sea and surrounded by lush hills, the location is pristinely tranquil. The staff is also wonderful... Reuben greeted us and was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We found that most tours picking up from Ponta Delgada would pick us up from Mosteiros for a small fee. There is also a whale watching tour departing from Mosteiros nearby, which was excellent (Terra do Pico). I would definitely stay here again!

Quinta de Santana - Tourist Apartments are surrounded by gardens providing a quiet and relaxing environment. The apartments (T1 or T2) are equipped with air conditional, telephone and television and have complete bathroom, kitchenette and living room. They are carefully decorated guaranteeing a comfortable and familiar atmosphere.
This place is a small garden hideaway a few kilometers from the town and several blocks from the ocean. It may not be 5 star but it’s quiet, safe, well manicured and we’ll attended by a polite feline staff. A good breakfast is available every day. The interior details are not always perfect ( WiFi sketchy, kitchen sparse, and minimal furniture) but the basics are covered. Getting anywhere requires a taxi unless you have a car, the exception being the steak house up the street. But the staff is helpful for calling taxis, giving directions and anything else you need.

Apartments are fully equipped, staff was friendly but the location was not as peaceful as I had hoped because the balcony was leading out to a street. Nice views over the mountains though. The apartment and furniture looks quite dated and could benefit of a renovation. But since I was there in low season it was not overpriced.

This property is amazing - beautiful views, private location, relaxing suites. Everything is self-accessible through lock boxes, emphasizing the privacy and solitude of the property. A car is a must to access this property, as well as to get anywhere else for meals or activities. Host is very nice and accessible through messaging if needed. We stayed in the Boca Negra suite which was upstairs, at the end / on the corner, with an amazing 180* balcony view of the water and up the coast. Rooms are spacious and decorated with a minimalistic design style. There is a pool behind the property, as well as a rooftop balcony, available for all guests. I would have loved to stay here for a full week in the summer with nothing but a good book and some wine!

One of my favorite place to stay in Horta. The studio apparment on the top floor is brillant. Awesome views over the sera ans Pico Volcano. It's big ang clean, however on thr 2 occasions I have stayed there I saw a couple of coachroches ! One in the bathrom and on the balcony. It seems to be an going problem that spoiled a little the fun.

Espaço bem Localizado próximo do centro e com estacionamento gratuito muito perto. Quarto com boas dimensões e decoração simples e minimalista. Embora não tenhamos usado, tem kitchnete com louça para duas pessoas. Fácil check in. Cheiro desagradável a mofo. Pouca Insonorização para exterior.
