Wonderful base in San Candido

The property feels like a home away from home and the apartments are clean, tasteful and very comfortable. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment, which was massive. Breakfast is plentiful and of excellent quality. There is no restaurant in the hotel for an evening meal, but many options in walking distance. The spa is well appointed and provides a good opportunity to wind down after a busy skiing or hiking day. The underground parking is an added bonus. Walking distance from the slopes in Baranci and bus to Versciaco stops right outside the hotel. Other ski resorts are a short car/ train ride away. If there is one thing I would comment/ suggest to be improved: there did not appear to be eggs to order at breakfast. This would be a small “add on” that would be very much appreciated by many travellers.

Amazing view, great service, exceptional experience!
Reviewed By dvir83Was staying on the 3rd floor, the apartment was neat, clean, good size, a small but well equipped kitchen and the bed was super comfortable. The location was great, very quiet and from the balcony you could see the beautiful snowy mountains, the ski lift and the green breath taking mountains on the other side. The staff was very friendly and the shop/bar downstairs has A LOT to offer- great coffee and tea, sweets and souvenirs and the decoration is so beautiful, warm and inviting. there is also quite a big museum downstairs which is a must. Will definitely come back!

CAUTION! Beautiful locale but no services
Reviewed By GlobalCit59PRO. Great views of the Dolomites and excellent location: 20 min to Dobbiaco, Misurina, and Cortina. Silence (except for the main road) in a gorgeous valley. CON. All the facilities and services are closed: bar, restaurant, pool, jacuzzi, sauna, market, shops, game room. Nothing here but your room! Staff and website do not mention this, so it can be a nasty surprise. Rooms on the highway side have no view and are noisy from the traffic. The resort architecture is beautiful on the outside but it is very old-style and run down on the inside. A tiny in-room kitchen that needs upgrading. Some rooms are the size of closets. CONCLUSION. In general, we loved the location but we very disappointed with the resort and the room. [NB. we stayed here as an RCI timeshare exchange]

The Post Residence combines all the comfort of an apartment. Children in particular will benefit from so much freedom, in a place where they are perfectly safe. The residence is located in the centre of San Candido/Innichen, close to shops and also close to the slopes.

Reviewed By AussiePenguin92Great location in the middle of San Candido, this is a 5-floor building full of mini apartments. Our apartment was fairly spacious, with a kitchen below and a tight but sturdy spiral staircase to the bedroom and bathroom upstairs. The staff from the Post Hotel are easily available right next door from 8am to midnight. They offer transport to the station, luggage storage and other general assistance. They were generally very friendly with good English, Italian and German. Our apartment became uncomfortably hot, but we were unable to turn the heating down below a certain point. We also found that the lighting was very dim even when we turned all the lights on. There were some pots, a sink, a stove with two working hotplates, cutlery, glasses, mugs, bowls and plates. However, there was no microwave, no kettle, and no diswashing supplies. When we enquired about the dishwashing supplies, the staff told us that we were expected to buy our own, but since the shops were closed at the time they gave us a small amount of detergent in a cup from the hotel bar's kitchen. We still didn't have a cloth/sponge and we thought it was strange to expect us to provide our own detergent and sponge for a two night stay. A small rubbish bin is provided, and you can recycle your paper, plastic and glass by sorting it and dropping it off at the bottom of the building. You will get a small discount at either of the two ski hire shops if you quote the hotel's name, and you will also get a Mobil card for transport between villages. The accommodation was good value for money, considering its location in San Candido. Overall we had a comfortable stay. However, if you are on a tight budget I would recommend checking out the other little nearby villages along the valley.

Reviewed By MrLooWe stayed for one week in Apt Nr 2 . The layout of the apartment was fine - the living room had enough space. The balcony looked out over a meadow - and indeed there were a lot of birds. The bells of the resident sheep also produced a nice alpine background sound. The house was newly renovated in 2015. Especially the painting was nice. The location was good. Whenever we needed help , the hosts could be easily reached and were friendly The only small remarks were the somewhat small size of bed

E’completamente nuovo, caldo e accogliente e non manca proprio nulla. Inoltre è ben strutturato poiché i miei genitori, abituati ad alzarsi prestissimo, hanno utilizzato la camera che dava al soggiorno, io mio marito e mio figlio eravamo nella camera che dava al piccolo corridoio ed essendoci una spessa porta tra soggiorno e corridoio non ci siamo mai svegiati. L’unico appunto è il terzo letto della camera da tre: molto, molto duro. La zona è fantastica, vicinissima a dei posti da sogno come il lago di Briens e S.Candido che durante il periodo Natalizio è un incanto. Ma è molto carina anche Villabassa, c’ è proprio tutto e l’agriturismo è proprio in centro. Anche la stazione è raggiungibile a piedi in 5 minuti. I padroni di casa veramente gentilissimi, mi hanno lasciata senza parole quando si sono presentati alla porta, la sera del mio compleanno (29dicembre) con una bottiglia di vino è un piatto pieno di biscotti buonissimi. Grazie è stata una vacanza bellissima.

Surrounded by forests and with a breathtaking view on the Pusteria valley beneath and the Dolomites scenario. 3 min drive from Dobbiaco city center, the apartment is nice, well equipped and clean. The owners are friendly and helpful. All the relax and the quiet you need, in a green paradise... highly recommended!

Had a very pleasant stay at Villa Drei Birken
Reviewed By Francois PWhich is owned by family Reiner and offer access to all the facilities of hotel Rainer : swimming pool and spa, ski rental, ski school... The only weakness of villa Drei Birken is that it is not ski in ski out. There is a shuttle but we preferred to use our own car as a shuttle : mostly to go to hotel Reiner : we rented our ski there and our children attended the ski school there. Very good ski school for all levels and hotel Reiner is ski in ski out. We rented 2 apartments at villa Drei Birken in the new Betulin villa : apartments are brand new, very clean and very well designed with a very nice view on the mountains. our hosts were very pleasant and helpful : thank you family Rainer.
