Yorkshire (/ˈjɔːrkʃər, -ʃɪər/; abbreviated Yorks), formally known as the County of York, is a historic county of Northern England and the largest in the United Kingdom. Due to its great size in comparison to other English counties, functions have been undertaken over time by its subdivisions, which have also been subject to periodic reform. Throughout these changes, Yorkshire has continued to be recognised as a geographical territory and cultural region. The name is familiar and well understood across the United Kingdom and is in common use in the media and the military, and also features in the titles of current areas of civil administration such as North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and East Riding of Yorkshire.

We visited for a tour of the theatre with our 2 little boys aged 5 &6 having always fancied exploring this historic little gem of a theatre. We were the only ones on our tour and the guide Shiela was absolutely fantastic. She made sure she kept our boys interest with interesting facts and was so patient with answering all of their questions and letting them perform on the stage! She really is a credit to you and made the whole experience one to remember for all of us - please pass on our thanks to her. We loved the theatre so much, we have booked to come and see Aladdin in December - the boys can't wait because they know how it all works now!!

Born out of a derelict Methodist Chapel, the venue has been developed by a hard-working group of volunteers, who work alongside a small team of staff which include a Theatre Manger, Technical Manager, Box Office Manager, Bar Manager and Theatre Technician. Regular visitors are amazed at the changes which are made to make theatre-going in Barnsley a pleasure.
Fantastic show, very well acted and put together, by all concerned. Heart warming show. The lamproom is a lovely little theatre, comfortable seats, nice bar area and very friendly staff

ERT is a vibrant, professional theatre located in a converted Baptist chapel in Beverley. Founded by actor and Beverley resident Vincent Regan and achieved through a huge community effort, the theatre opened its doors for the first time in December 2014. It has since delivered an eclectic programme of quality theatre, music and entertainment to the people of HU17 and beyond.
I have seen several productions here and each one has been fantastic. You are so close to the action. In the case of A Steady Rain I was very close to the stage. Intense and captivating.

North Yorkshire's premier Entertainment & Conference venue. The Spa is home to the Scarborough Jazz Festival, The Scarborough Spa Orchestra & hosts entertainment all year round. Fancy some refreshments on Scarborough's South Bay? Then head to our Restaurant & Bar: Farrer's!
A magical small theatre within the Spa Complex hosted the show. The performances of all the cast.... Singers/Magician/Juggler and the Puppet show was polished and enthusiastic. The audience age group spanned under 10's to shall we say a more senior age! All were enthralled from start to finish. A great show. It is on until the 7th of September/

Visited Harrogate last week for a two night break with my wife to celebrate Valentines night and attend the above Theatre. Harrogate has three really good theatres, this was our first visit to this particular theatre as we normally attend the Royal Hall. However we were really impressed by the Music Hall atmosphere of this venue, the seating capacity is 500 but you are never far from the stage. Decor is in keeping with the age of the theatre, ample bars for refreshments and run by helpful and friendly staff. Our visit was to see ( Eric and Ern ) a fantastic show based on the best of Morecambe and Wise, almost as good as the real thing, audience was regally entertained. The Harrogate Theatre is situated in the centre of town and quite unassuming from the outside, but inside it really comes to life. We stayed two nights at the Old Swan and the theatre was a comfortable 15 minute stroll, easily accessible on foot. Really enjoyed the break, we are becoming regular visitors to the Harrogate Theatres, any excuse for a break away these days. We will certainly return and are currently checking the listings for all upcoming events at the Harrogate Theatres, we find the shows as enjoyable, inexpensive entertainment compared to a visit to restaurants or pubs. See you soon.
