Delighted to have discovered this local and low-key theatre run by locals. Have watched two shows here and enjoyed both. The cast's performance was superb and the small cosy nature added to the intimant and pleasant experience. Definitely reccomend a visit!

The Criterion Theatre is a charitable organisation located in the heart of Earlsdon. We own our theatre building which seats 122 people and have been producing theatrical entertainment of the highest quality for over 60 years, ever since our founder members set up the Criterion Players in 1955. We are a 200-strong repertory theatre company made up entirely of volunteers. We have a deep sense of community ethos and identification with Coventry as our home. We benefit from our long history and this enables us to pass on the skills we have gained, whether they be technical, performance or front of house to everyone who joins so that they quickly become a part of the ‘wider Criterion family’. Anyone can become a member of the Criterion Theatre. There is no limit to how many members can join and no entry requirement.

The Blue Orange Theatre is a 110 seat theatre situated within the historically beautiful Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham. There is a Bar for drinks and snacks before and after the show and an onsite rehearsal studio available for hire. Plays, musicals, pantomime, comedy and music are all on offer with theatre hire also available too. Managed by JW Theatres from September 2019. Please get in touch with our team if you have an enquiry as they would be happy to help.
We visited the Blue Orange Theatre to see "The house of the Baskervilles". (which I might add was a very funny production and I highly recommend it). The theatre itself is a lovely place to go. There is a little area at the front where you are able to get a drink, or coffee if preferred. The auditorium is great with seats gently staggered so that every one is able to view the stage. It is refreshing to visit the "smaller" theatre's. It is a lot friendlier with people a lot more inclined to interact with one another. I very much enjoyed my visit there and will definitely be going again. Well worth a visit.

The Crescent is one of Birmingham's oldest theatre companies, operating from a purpose built theatre in the Brindleyplace development. We have a membership in excess of 250 actors, technicians, set designers, etc. and stage upwards of fifteen productions a year. Our theatre has a 300+ seat main house, 100+ seat studio theatre, rehearsal rooms and spacious bar.
I cannot believe how we have not been to this wonderful theatre before. Arrived with only minutes to spare, due to the work going on in Broad St and weather that didn’t help the situation. The staff were very warm, friendly and welcoming...a pleasure to walk in and be greeted with warmth. On entering we found it had a warmth about it, not as big as some of the theatres we have visited, it was small with gradiated seating, which gave good viewing all around the theatre. Poppy Fields the Musical was absolutely amazing, funny in places but very poignant, especially as Remembrance Sunday was the following day. Brilliant show and would see it again if ever it came back to Birmingham., a professional cast would find it hard to match this amateur production. Well done to you all for an amazing performance, on leaving the theatre the cast were all lined up where you had the opportunity to meet them...nice touch. We will certainly be looking at future shows in this nice little theatre, tickets were also reasonably priced.
