If you are visiting you must, without fail experience the fireworks, they are AMAZING! Top tip, if you dine in California Grill in the neighbouring hotel at any time during the evening, you can return and view the fireworks from their gallery which is a great spot and much quieter than the hussle of the park.

Festival of the Lion King

Reviewed By Ellie1145 - Horndean, United Kingdom

If there is one thing in Animal Kingdom that you really shouldn’t miss then this is it. We’ve seen it many times but it still keeps us enthralled. The show is situated in a huge auditorium and it takes place in the round. It used to be in Camp Minnie Mickey, but since Avatar replaced it you can now find it in the Harambe Theatre in Africa. It has everything - wonderful music and singing, huge animatronic animals, acrobatics, stilt walkers, trampolinists, exotic and colourful costumes and aerial dancing. It’s not a retelling of the Lion King, it’s a celebration with Simba and many of his friends. I love seeing the huge animatronic Lion, Elephant, Giraffe and Wart Hog as they enter from each side on moving platforms. There are lots of familiar songs, such as. ‘I Just Can’t Wait to be King’ and my personal favourite, ‘ Can You Feel the Love Tonight.’ This is performed by acrobats in bird costumes, and is really beautiful and poignant. It’s very popular, and so you really need to get there early to secure your seat. It’s well worth seeing.

This is a fantastic little backyard venue that is so much fun! Plenty of room to stretch out and enjoy some great acts. Most acts lean towards Folk, Bluegrass etc. The host, Mark, is a great guy and has everything you need to be comfortable. Most events require a small recommended donation. Many are pot luck. Many are benefit concerts Do yourself a favor and check them out!

Fantasmic!

A live Disney production held at the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater at Disney-MGM Studios featuring Disney characters, performers and pyrotechnics.

Any seat is perfect to watch this unbelievable stage show...fire, lasers, waterworks, dramatic music, lots of Disney characters(go early if you want close seats for up close pics of character ) Great end to a busy day at the park. Caution, families with young kids, music sounds scary and some of the theatrics may frighten them, but reassure that good conquers all as the end is very cheerful n will bring smiles to all ages. Also, after show ends, hang on to your little ones, area will be dark, n thousands of guests leaving at same time....worth buying or bringing glow in dark necklaces n light colored shirts to help parents "see" where kids are. Stroller parking is crazy, try to park at the end of a row for easy navigating/exiting. Show is a must see! The sets change but don't know how often. If you get cold easily, a light jacket or sweater will keep you warm show takes place by an in a huge lake. Bleacher seats do get cold...bring snacks /drinks for kids n bathroom breaks before show starts (long walk to restrooms) again , hard to see/find group in dark. Last rows and side seating great for little ones who can't sit still. You leave in awe of the details Disney uses in everything they do and produce...Go & Enjoy!
