We are a city-owned mime theatre in Nizhny Novgorod city, Russia. Our full name, ‘Preobrazheniye,’ means ‘transformation’ in Russian. A tough word, isn’t it? But we are a mime theatre, so we don’t talk on stage most of the time. The language does not matter. We are a unique project. Our history began in 1990, then we only had a distant dream of becoming what we are today. Now PREO is the only public mime theatre in the city, and one of the few mime theatres in Russia. We are conveniently located near the Leninskaya underground station and not far from the high-speed train station.
