Hartford Stage, located in Hartford, Connecticut, is one of the nation's leading resident theatres, known for producing innovative revivals of classics and provocative new plays and musicals, including 68 world and American premieres, as well as offering a distinguished education program, which reaches more than 20,000 students annually.
I am very impressed by the Hartford Stage and their current show The Christmas Carole. The theater is small enough that you feel like you are on the stage with the show. The stage has all the technology to bring a dynamic experience with lights, floor openings, trapeze flying actors, snow falling, and quick scene changes. We sat in section B second row. My husband has a bad left knee so I chose the seat on the far left. There was only a small opening for him to rest his leg. I saw that the third row would have been better. There are no big stairs to deal with and the sound is excellent even when the actors are not facing you. The Christmas show has wonderful costumes and it moves along so you are surprised by something every few minutes. This is a great place for families (over 8ish years old) unless they are scared by ghosts.

Just saw Jersey Boys for the 19th time and the performance at Ogunquit Playhouse was easily among the best productions I've seen, including the five times I've seen it on Broadway. These four men and, in fact, the entire cast, were awesome ! Extremely talented and genuinely excited by the audience reaction. Excellent acoustics. Great last-minute seats. I can honestly say I've never seen a bad show at Ogunquit. All shows are extremely professionally cast and acted. You can't miss if you enjoy theater. Ogunquit is the best !

Rockport Music presents concerts and cultural events in the "stunning acoustics and dramatic setting" (Boston Globe) of its new home, the Shalin Liu Performance Center. Rockport Music is best known for its summer chamber music festival, as well as year-round presentations of jazz, folk, and pop music; high-definition broadcasts from the Metropolitan Opera and National Theatre (London); and classic and independent films.
Amazing venue for acoustics and musicians have the backdrop of the ocean. Not a bad seat in the house. Additionally the staff and volunteers are so very kind and helpful. I mixed up nights and went to a show a night early and they helped me switch my tickets for comparable open seats the night I arrived. Highly recommend!
