Great to see the auditorium packed to capacity for an amazing evening of musical theatre relayed to cinemas around the country. The cinematography provided cinema goers with close ups of the performers which theatre goers wouldn't benefit from. A first class production within walking distance from home.

ERT is a vibrant, professional theatre located in a converted Baptist chapel in Beverley. Founded by actor and Beverley resident Vincent Regan and achieved through a huge community effort, the theatre opened its doors for the first time in December 2014. It has since delivered an eclectic programme of quality theatre, music and entertainment to the people of HU17 and beyond.
I have seen several productions here and each one has been fantastic. You are so close to the action. In the case of A Steady Rain I was very close to the stage. Intense and captivating.

Bridlington Spa is a theatre, ballroom, art gallery and conference centre located on the south bay of Bridlington. Originally built in 1896, the building has undergone four rebuilds/refurbishments over the years; the latest being a £20M refurbishment between 2006 and 2008. The venue features a huge Art Deco Ballroom, Edwardian proscenium-arched theatre with flytower, art gallery displaying local artists' work and a cafe benefiting from panoramic views across the beach and sea. You can see as far as Withernsea on a clear day. The venue is home to touring musicals on the Yorkshire Coast, is known for producing it's own theatre and repertory season and is often used by top names in the music industry to launch arena tours. The venue's programme features in excess of 400 entertainment shows each year as well as more than 350 business events. Bridlington Spa is open every day of the year with the exception of Christmas Day.

A few minutes walk from the train/bus station. Varied programme on offer throughout the year. Just discovered that if you book more than one show at the same time you get a discount, called drama deal. I booked 4 shows for the next couple of months and saved £30+ a head. Also prebooked the burger and a drink deal at £10, the burger on it's own is £10.50 so a good deal. The burger was wagyu beef and was one of the best I've had for a while, not at all mass produced. The wine was the house and nothing to get excited about but it was effectively free so who'e complaining.

Visited for our annual panto trip, Really love this theatre, It is a lovely theatre to visit. The panto (as always) was great, Talegate Theatre co top notch yet again with the obligatory predictable Panto jokes, Very funny & entertaining, A very professional production. Good location & good views from all seating areas. Comfortable seats with good bar facilities for pre show or interval drinks, We loved the cafe. The staff were upbeat and friendly. They seem to accommodate their customers as much as possible, The value for money is superb. Can’t wait to be back this year ????????

Hull has always been a quite bastion for comedy, and whilst its never gotten to the heady hights of Edinborough, its surprising how many comics have travelled through our fair city. The Comedy Lounge is Hull permenant venue for stand-up, and has now been open a couple of years and has become a well established home of laughter. Outside of the usualy theatre tours some of the more well known big names, this place offers a more 'raw' edgy feel to comedy, and with Hull being a kinda no-nonsense city, it makes perfect sense to have its own catherdral of free speech and have a great permenant comedy venue. I have visited here quite a number of times over the time its been open, probably every couple months, and I have been impressed with the offerings that have been on stage every time. There are always 3 first rate comedians, and this is all glued together with a great compare. One good sign that the place is doing well is that everytime I have been there on a weekend, its always been a sell out crowd. This in itself then helps to perpetuate a great atmostphere [especially when combined with the free flowing alcohol]. There is a full bar drinks table service, simply press the light on your table, and then a member of the team comes over, takes your order, then returns with your drinks, meaning you are uninterupted in enjoying the comedy and you also dont have other members of the public constantly getting up and in your view when you are enjoying the acts. There is food on offer if you need a little something...nothing too fancy, but ordering a plate of cheese covered nachos helps absorb the pints of beers as they slide down your throat. I am really please that this place appears to be doing so well. Paul - the manager/owner, has done wonders to get this place established. They are even attracting some more well know/up and coming artists, as well as expanding the upstairs area to cater for music acts [Abba/George Micheal tributes - as well as public hire for parties etc]. I hope it continues to go from strength to strength for many years to come....and let the laughs continue to roll!!!!
