Delirio, the best salsa show made in Cali for Colombia and the rest of the world, bases its performance on Cali's popular culture for everyone to experience. In these years we have presented, with our successful equation: Salsa show, circus, orchestra and audience, eleven performances in unique and unforgettable scenes, product of a rigorous collective work of the artistic collective and produced by the Delirio Foundation.
This show changes periodically so while every performance is unique, the whole performance is renewed every so often (don't remember whether it was monthly or every trimester). That said, this was my experience in February 2019. As soon as you walk into the Big Top, the world just changes. The atmosphere is electric. People dressed in different clothes, wearing all sorts of exotic makeup, and performing different routines take over and you FEEL you're in a different place. You can wander all over the pre-show freely and take it all in as you will hear reminders of when the performance is to begin and all seating is prearranged, so there's no reward for early seating. Souvenirs are on sale (obviously) and although you may be righteously tempted to do so - you'll regret buying the DVD's (recording quality sucks). Once you're in and seated, definitely recommend you buy by the bottle whatever it is you're drinking. Don't expect a heavy dinner, it's more along the side of tapas - so dinner before the show may actually be a good idea. Everything starts on time and ends on time so be punctual. Once the show begins, its a straight shot with a brief intermission for bio breaks. You can join the dancing at the end, which is fun, but this is a spectacle to take in completely through sights and sounds. Relax and enjoy Cali's version of Cirque du Soleil.
