Glazydayz Pottery-Painting Studio has over 300 pottery items to choose from, with prices starting at £4.00 fully-inclusive. There's plenty of free parking right outside the studio, and plenty of space for buggies and wheelchairs if you rely on wheels to get you around. The studio can seat 30, so large groups are welcome as well as small ones; Glazydayz is also a cafe serving hot and cold drinks, snacks, and light bites. After you paint your pottery it will be glazed and fired for you, which takes a few days; if you're just passing through the area your pottery can be posted to you after firing, & there are also craft activities you can do in the studio and take away with you on the day. Opening hours vary seasonally, so phone Glazydayz or check our website for current opening hours.
Fantastic time on a COVID rainy day with the kids. Everything set out clearly and safe. A clear, engaging explanation for the kids (4,7,9), who loved it. Lovely coffee! And as a bonus, when we had finished one staff member painted special eyes on to our pottery characters making them about 100 times better! Fantastic place, totally recommend.

We had a fantastic time here, on a 'Couples' 5 hour session. If you're worried about whether you can cope with such an activity don't be - they cater for all abilities. The staff cannot do enough to help you, and nothing is too much trouble for them. My partner made a garden ornament while I made a knife. Both look really good, and any worry that we had about not finishing in time was needless - the staff make sure that you don't leave until your piece is finished (I still have to wrap the handle of my knife but that's something for me to do in my own time). We are seriously considering returning some time next year to have a go at making something else. We took a picnic for our lunch, but you can order lunch from the local pub & have it delivered to the forge. Just make sure you bring a water bottle with you, it's thirsty work! All in all, a great time, a great experience, and a great bunch of people.

Greenacres Stables is a small horse riding centre located right on the edge of the Forest of Dean, in Lea, near Ross-on-Wye and Mitcheldean. We offer riding lessons for all abilities in our large outdoor arena and we have fantastic opportunities for trekking in the Forest of Dean.
Booked an assessment lesson with June as I am have just relocated to the area and needed to find a new yard to continue developing my riding. I was given a very friendly welcome on arrival and told I would be riding Bonnie, a great confidence giver. As a regular rider I said I didn’t mind who I rode but confidence in the saddle is not one of my problems so the lovely June tacked up Taurus who was a slightly more advanced ride and off we went. I loved my assessment lesson, June had me cantering poles within about 15 mins so it was certainly different from the ploddy, directing traffic lesson I had expected. I initially booked another lesson but have since decided that this will be my go to place for hacking instead only because I can’t commit to the a regular day at this time and June only teaches 2 weekdays. A little gem of a yard.
