Mayan ruins tower over the sea in Tulum. The formerly walled city was one of the last to be built by the Mayans, and its archaeological sites are incredibly well preserved. Take a break from the beach to visit El Castillo, the Temple of the Frescoes, and the Temple of the Descending God. Explore an underground river under a canopy of stalactites in the sacred caverns of LabnaHa Eco Park, or dive into Cenote Dos Ojos to snorkel inside of caves in the middle of a forest.

Combine Mayan history at Tulum Mexico, the only archeological zone in the area overlooking the ocean (believed to have been the largest port for the Mayans) with the natural beauty of Xel-ha Mexico, a natural aquarium which is ideal for snorkeling Itinerary: Go directly from your hotel to Tulum ruins and then to Xel-ha Mexico. Pick up time is up to you, but we have found that 7AM – 8 AM works well In Tulum you can hire a guide for a tour or just explore the ruins on your own. 2 hours in Tulum is plenty of time. Tulum is open from 8AM – 5PM Then go to Xel-Ha where you can swim/snorkel, float down the lazy river, walk through the jungle, eat, drink or relax in a hammock. Xel-Ha is open 365 days a year from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
Inclusions: Beverages at Xel-ha, Breakfast at Xel-ha, Buffet lunch at Xel-ha, Breakfast, Lunch
Exclusions: Gratuities, Hotel pickup and drop-off, Transportation to/from attractions
We just spent 7 nights here at this resort. We've been to a few other resorts and none have compared. The staff here is by far the best and the food is absolutely the best. It's a step above all the others.

Such an incredible day of exploring the ruins at Muyil and floating through the mangroves in Sian Ka’an. Salvdor made all of the arrangements for the day, picked us up in an air conditioned van, and provided a wonderful picnic lunch by the water. I would highly recommend Best Maya Tours. Very organized and professional.

I cannot say enough good things about Jesus and the tour he provides. Came down to Bacalar during covid and post tropical storm, things were closed and nature had an attitude but Jose made it work. Our tour had to be altered a bit, but before any changes were made Jesus ran it by us first to make sure we were ok with it. Really appreciated that. His level of communicating and making you the boss of your tour is incredible. Covered so much of Bacalar in this one expedition. Bacalar is a beautiful place and Jesus made sure we were able to experience it. 10 out of 10, would book again and recommend to friends.

The 4x1 Tour with transfer from Cancun includes Exploring the Mayan Ruins of Tulum and Cobá, immersing ourselves in the cool waters of a Cenote and in the afternoon walking in the 5th International. Avenida del Playa del Carmen, four major attractions the same day.
Inclusions: Air-conditioned vehicle, Entrance Ticket to the Ruins of Tulum and Cobá, Buffet food, Entrance to a Cenote and time to swim, Free time in Playa del Carmen (45 minutes)
Exclusions: Drinks during the meal and during transport, Train to the entrance of Tulum, Bicycles to the entrance of Cobá, Life Jacket in the Cenote
The positives - the tour guide was very educated and informative. The Chichen Itza ruins are definitely worth seeing at least once if given the opportunity. The negatives - there was a bit of pressure to purchase the Mayan calendar and other goods from the tour guide. The buffet food was surprisingly bland considering it was made by the native Mayan people. Also the tour was super long. I was picked up from my hotel in Playa del Carmen at 7am and didn’t get back until 9pm.

10/10 I would do this trip again. My advice would be to go for the 4 hour tour over the 2 hour version because it goes by very quickly. Everyone is unbelievably kind and you taken care of the entire time. If you are looking for a snorkeling trip where you don't have to plan anything, this is the one for you.
This is a perfect tour if you look for something natural, close to your hotel, beautiful and not expensive with a personalized service

The day started of well with getting picked up on time from our resort by a friendly our driver Daniel. We then went to a meeting point where we picked up our guide for the day Garbie. On the way to Tulum we were given some information about the ruins and the way that the Mayan people lived, Garbie continued to to teach us the Mayan civilisation and Tulum itself. She gave us a interesting tour of the ruins and gave us some free time to explore some more. After that we went Aktunchen Cenote. It was in the middle of the jungle and very quiet, we had the Cenote to ourselves, the water was crystal clear all be it a little cold at first. From there we went to a nice beach club for lunch where there was a fabulous buffet, then back to our resort. All in all a fantastic trip.

My son arranged this day trip for us because I REALLY wanted to see some Mayan ruins and cenotes. It was glorious. We traveled as a group of 10, 4 of my married children + spouses, and my husband and I. Jesus was a terrific guide and willing to adjust and cater the day to whatever we wanted to do. He is very knowledgeable about the area and had suggestions for what we might want to see. We visited the ruins, two different cenotes (we swam at each one, Jesus provided snorkels), had time to shop in town for a bit, and enjoyed a delicious lunch...a place with a camel painted on the wall and wonderful fish tacos. If we felt "snacky" Jesus had a cooler full of drinks and snacks, including fruit and yogurt. The van was comfortable and there was plenty of room for all 10 of us. Jesus was a fabulous host and I would highly recommend him and his expertise!

Sandra was lovely to deal with and she introduced us to our guide (Johnny Bravo) as she was unavailable that day. We did it with just 4 of us and the timing was completely up to us (ie. More snorkel time etc). This was my favorite excursion to date - Johnny was knowledgeable, fun and entertaining. No loud music, booze etc. Like the party boats! Very easy 20 min hike (horses were available) to beautiful waterfall in Quimixto. Had a nice lunch on the beach and snorkled a 2nd time heading back to PV. Excursion was about 9:00 - 3:30 pm. Next time I want to bus to Boca Tomatlan and then hike ( 2 hrs each way mountain/coast) to Quimixto. Anyways, strongly recommend Sandra and Johnny. Bruce

We asked for an English speaking tour. The guide did not speak a word of English. So, we enjoyed the nature and views in the canyon. The van he drove us in had a huge crack in the windshield. The guide was late to pick us up after lunch and mistakenly boarded a passenger not on our tour. We had to return passenger. Be aware of this company!
