It is located in the Mokattam Mountain, a short drive through the so called “Garbage City’ – a large population of garbage collectors or Zabbaleen that live there. Several churches have been built into the caves found in Mokattam, First we visit, Saint Simon the Tanner Hall and St. Mark’s Church. This huge cave was discovered in the year 1974. It was full of hundreds of tons of stones even up to the ceiling of the cave (which is 17 meters high from the ground), and was later prepared to contain two storeys: 1. The upper storey is the St. Simon the Tanner Hall, with seating capacity of 2000 people for spiritual meetings. The walls are decorated with many wonderful pictures engraved on the rocks representing scenarios from the Bible Then we continue and visit the Cathedral of Virgin Mary and St. Simon the Tanner. . Excellent!! We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 day excursion in Cairo. Nour was a great guide. She was very educated on all of the sites we visited and made sure we saw everything there was possible to see at each location. They were also very accommodating to our need to sleep in an hour more or go to any extra places that we wanted to see. Throughout the trips we made stops at several little stores (this is a part of their companies guidelines), where they try to sell you overpriced items. No problem at all, you can go in and politely decline as many times as needed. We had lunch both days at very nice restaurants, the food was delicious, (you will only need to pay for your drinks... very cheap). The driver was also great, they both made us feel very welcomed and comfortable throughout the excursion. Would definitely recommend this package for anyone who wants to explore the most important and historical areas in Cairo.

Isaac and his team truly went above and beyond in their customer service. My family was travelling through Egypt during the pandemic and their was no ask tht they were not able to help with. I booked a private tour to the pyramids to avoid all the hassle, and it was definitely worth it. The tour was prepaid by credit card and I found the price affordable. All my emails were promptly answered, too. I was picked up right on time by a driver and my guide, Nesma, and as traffic was light, the journey from central Cairo to the pyramids took some 20 minutes only. Nesma gave quick briefs at our stops and I had ample time to look around and take photos. She answered all the questions I had and did her best to accommodate my wishes. Her English was excellent. After the pyramids and the sphinx, we made a quick extra stop at a papyrus shop/factory, where they explained the making and history of papyrus. There was no pressure to buy anything, it was a genuine educational stop and an interesting one at that. I can warmly recommend Emotours. I found them reliable, punctual and knowledgeable.
