The Pearl of the Mediterranean has an ambiance more in keeping with its neighbors to the north than with those in the Middle East. Site of Pharos lighthouse, one of the Wonders of the World, and of Anthony and Cleopatra’s tempestuous romance, the city was founded by Alexander the Great in 331 BCE. Today, Alexandria offers fascinating insights into its proud Greek past, as well as interesting mosques, the casino strip of the Corniche, some lovely gardens and both modern and traditional hotels. We mostly know Cairo for Pyramids and Sphinx but this time we wanted to do something different. That’s why we chosen to see Coptic and Islamic Cairo. The plan was achieved with beautiful Manar! And we really thank her for introducing us to a new face of Cairo we did not know. The extra bonus is that Manar studies sightseeing and history and know some things that others can skip. Great 1,5 days together!

After hearing many controversial things about tour guides in Cairo, AND experiencing first hand with an amateur, inexperienced and pushy guide at the Giza pyramids, we felt like our meticulously-planned, much anticipated Egypt trip was on the brink of getting ruined. Fortunately, our Egpytian experience was saved when we met Mohamed! We had an absolutely amazing day with Mohamed visiting and learning about Coptic Cairo, Islamic Cairo, Khan el Khalil, and the Egyptian Museum! We were especially impressed by his extensive knowledge of the history, culture and background of all the places we visited. We gained valuable insights into the prominence of both Coptic and Islamic Cairo. He even took us to the most famous place in town to try koshary. He was so good that we decided to book him again for our Alexandria trip! Mohamed took great care of us like our big brother. He provided us with change to use the bathroom, kept his time flexible to meet our needs, and even bought us ice cream and sugar cane juice :D I would highly recommend him 200%, and we can't wait to return to Egypt and book him again for Sharm el Sheikh and Aswan!

The driver and the tour guide were at our Airbnb 10 minutes earlier. The van was spacious and clean. The vibe was relaxed and positive since the beginning. Abdu, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and he showed proficiency not only in French but also in English. Alexandria is beautiful and the Mediterranean Sea is what crowns it. The Greco Roman catacombs, Pompey’s Pillar, the Citadel of Qaitbay, the restaurant, everything was delightful. At the end our driver even helped us find a suitcase in downtown Cairo. It was awesome!

This was one of the best organised tours I have been in!!! Travelling to Cairo from hurghada means that one leaves about 1am. Ahmed came to check on us and gave us some snacks which was great! And also to reassure us that the bus would be coming shortly. We had a wonderful guide in another Ahmed. He had lots of knowledge, taking us to the museum and giving us a lot of information and I’m sure, if time was not a constraint m, we would have learnt a lot. He took us to the pyramids and although it rained!!!!!, he was still so good, taking us to another viewing spot! He was just so, so good! He made the whole experience such a wonderful memory for us! I was thrilled at this experience of the pyramids and the Sphinx and seeing the mask of king Tut!! Amazing amazing amazing!

The best part about this amazing tour was our guide - Sam! He made all the difference. What I loved is that he didn’t just give facts - he gave us the story of it and made it very interesting and brought this ancient history to life. Also he did it with a smile and humor. He went above and beyond for us and this was during Ramadan where he was fasting and it literally was 105 in Cairo. I plan on going back to Cairo and my first request will be if Sam is available.

Excellent!! We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 day excursion in Cairo. Nour was a great guide. She was very educated on all of the sites we visited and made sure we saw everything there was possible to see at each location. They were also very accommodating to our need to sleep in an hour more or go to any extra places that we wanted to see. Throughout the trips we made stops at several little stores (this is a part of their companies guidelines), where they try to sell you overpriced items. No problem at all, you can go in and politely decline as many times as needed. We had lunch both days at very nice restaurants, the food was delicious, (you will only need to pay for your drinks... very cheap). The driver was also great, they both made us feel very welcomed and comfortable throughout the excursion. Would definitely recommend this package for anyone who wants to explore the most important and historical areas in Cairo.
