Things to do in Springvale
Tried out Moon Diem Hen Restaurant on Good Friday. Worst restaurant everLady took orders but didnât write anything down. We ordered smashed pork and rice, seafood soup, spring rolls, combination vegetables and a stir fry. My husbands and my food came and our daughter had to wait 15 mins longer for a stir fry and to top it all off we didnât get our combination vegetables. All meals were bland in flavour and measly on the ingredients The only good thing about the lady not writing down the order was when we paid and she forgot to charge us for the springrolls Advise not to go to this restaurant

Not fine dining, just fresh ingredients, very tasty food and not expensive. Service was ok. Mix of Vietnamese and Chinese food. Really enjoyed the rice paper rolls, and the black pepper beef especially. No complaints about anything else. Would definitely go again.
The best prawn dumpling soup in Melbourne. I took friends and relatives to First Taste for prawn dumpling soup (with noodle optional) , everyone loves the taste. Their chilli sauce is to tasty. There are other dishes eg. soup in a special cups with lids, rice in claypot, etc. Highly recommend the prawn dumpling soup!

First time having a meal at this place. Had Yum-cha with family. The place is quiet compare to other restaurants in Springvale despite being a Saturday afternoon.Staffs are generally friendly and happy to serve your table (not sure if it is because that it is quiet that the staffs wanted to do something useful to pass time).A variety of normal Yum-Cha dishes available. Taste of most of them is reasonable or average in nature. The good thing about the place is that is it quiet and does not need booking for meals. My family still booked ahead though before arriving (in case it is busy).Table service is more personalize given that the place is quieter that the staffs in general have more time to serve you.Place is reasonably clean and spaced in between seats. Although some staffs still hit your chair occasionally with their food trolley for the Yum-Cha.Overall, a reasonable place for Yum-Cha. Much quieter than the nearby Gold Leaf. No need bookings in general. An option place for Yum-Cha.
We took our grandsons to this little family style Vietnamese Chinese restaurant for supper yesterday. The boys loved the salted chicken thigh - which was tender with good flavour and taste. They also loved the prawn spring rolls wrapped in fresh lettuce and herbs. There was nothing more pleasing to the grandparents' eyes then seeing these young ones enjoying their food so much. Well, we the old couple had our usual raw beef and beef brisket noodle soup with bean sprouts and herbs - which was, as expected, very good. Will return to try its many other dishes on the menu.
Terrific little place for some authentic and original vietnamese dishes . Starter was Peking duck in pastry , very fresh and delicious . All other standard entree looked nice . For main meal we had Vermicelli with roast pork, bbq pork and pork sausage and other main was chicken with lemon grass and chilli. Both meals we shared were fresh and full flavoured . Large plates so we had to take home left overs which were enough for another meal . Good for couples and friends for quick easy and tasty cheap meals. Beer was cheap $3 local beer stubbies and around $5 for imported

The Staff and owner Anita aim to make your visit the best experience of asian food you can find, The food is fresh and the mood is vibrant the fried chicken is a standout as is the sea scallops wrapped in prawn meat. But here the food is very good check out things like crocodile and ask what specials they have.

Been to this restaurant a few times with friends. Recently for dinner with friends.Like the lamb skewers. Other main dishes tastes well ranging from meat dishes to vegetable dishes. All cooked well in Uyghur cooking.Staffs are polite. The place is organised and well spaced between tables to allow privacy.A recommended place to visit for good Uyghur food. The restaurant dishes are halal.

Sought this place out on a recommendation from friends, and not disappointed. Arrived at lunchtime on a Sunday and the place was hopping; only had to wait 5 mins. Seated and offered drinks immediately: faultless service. The yum cha trolleys wafted past continually, and despite the fact that we were just about the only non-Chinese in this massive place, all staff spoke very good english and were most helpful. The standard of food was exceptional, the best we'd ever had, and we've had a few yum chas. The best for me was the unctuous, hot tofu in a sweet ginger syrup, spooned carefully out of a huge pot. For husband the highlight was the scallop dumplings which were indeed award-winning.Faultless service, excellent food, and a busy family atmosphere made for a great lunch. Not cheap, but you get quality for your money. We asked for a take-away container for leftovers and it arrived immediately. Very impressed with the whole experience.

I've been frequenting this 'odd' restaurant for years and years. It's odd per its entry being at the rear lane behind Springvale Road. Staff is very functional and possibly better now as younger staff who speak 'strine' and less in your face.In years past, it was one of the goto places for 'asian/chinese/vietnamese'. Good food at reasonable prices and quantity to suit the plethora of university students and locals. It is constantly busy. Needless to say, they have done remarkably well as a business. The last few years have seen a notable shift in thinking. The owners are seeking to maximise via alternative substitutes either for cost or convenience. One such is the replacement of fresh rice noodles in some dishes with the reconstitute variety. Acceptable but not the best. Elements of change also evident in other dishes if you are a frequent customer.Overall still very good and yummy but realistically no longer up there YMMV
