Fortunately, for my friends and I, one of the staff spoke Cantonese! Service was then very good...whatever, we ordered, came with a fast service and a smile.Food wise, it was ok...their, 'char siew' was not to par with Hkg's roast pork. However, the 'siew yoke' was good. They have a combination plate of meats of sorts...portions were small, even tough, we ordered the 'big' portion. Soups were good, and the rice served, was typical of rice served in Hkg. 'Dongbei' rice seems a bit sticky for our liking.Price wise, it was cheap...Worth a second trip, when we hunger for Cantonese food.
Western Bar, welcoming all expats and locals.Vast array of Western drinks and menu. Expect a warm friendly welcome from Justin (the Owner) and all the staff
Great, warm and friendly atmosphere at Glasgow. First bar I visited in China and never looked back, now my local 8 months down the line. Great choice of drink, lovely staff and meet many great friends there.Would recommend to any expats in the City, and still see plenty of locals there too.Different offers every night of the week.Fair play, they've done it right.
It is hard to find an authentic Cantonese food, especially, dim sum in Shenyang. Tao Heung is a famous dim sum restaurant from Hong Kong. I could not find its name in the list which I believe all the customers want to secretly keep it (even so, the queue is always long after opening time.). Anyway, it's about time to share this information for non-Chinese speakers. Going to this restaurant is quite easy as many foreigners knew Ole' at MixC already. Just walk from the main entrance through the back entrance, the elevator would be on the right side before reaching the back door. Then go to 6A Floor, turn right 2 times and the restaurant's small escalators will be on your right side, step on. That's all. This restaurant serves good foods, not only for dim sum, but also other Cantonese dishes and hot pot (yes, winter is coming sooner than last year. We need a hot soup to relieve the freezing cold here.). Its price is not high, reasonable, I would say. However, for anyone who doesn't work during weekdays, at lunch, there's some discount (maybe around 50% for some dim sums, I can't remember the amount exactly.). Also, during weekend, buying its coupons from the discount websites also helps saving your money as well. Only some foods may not suit foreigners' tongues but the price is much cheaper than the a la carte menu. If you can't read Chinese, just ask your Chinese friend or hotel concierge to buy that coupon for you. Checking the menu list before buying its coupon is highly recommended though, as some dishes are not suitable for foreigners. Don't waste your money on what you can't eat.Recommended dishes? As its dim sum ordering menu is all Chinese with some photos of very popular dishes, you can mark on the sheet by yourself or ask the waitress or waiter to write your order for you. Otherwise, you can ask for the big menu, English is also available.

Food and historical items of the Manchu ethnic group.
Food was good, and the decor was filled with old stuff from the Qing dynasty. There is a similar outlet in Beijing, but I cannot remember the name...also has same decor and food...but, this one is much better. We were a party of four...was given a small table as it was very crowded..half way thru, we were given a bigger table...but, this after we complained that the table was not big enough to hold all our dishes...the staff really did not care...great food, but, be prepared for bad service.

In all honesty this place is exceptional and could be used as an example of how great service can be!.Hot pot is Hot pot you might say. Not really! The fit out is simplistic and warm colours, tables are functional rather than designer furniture and chairs very comfortable. That is where the normal ends and the outstanding starts. The restaurant was packed and we needed to wait for a table, which we agreed was OK. Then we were shown to a specially designated area, served a cold refreshing plum juice and made to feel very welcome. There was entertainment for impatient kids (I have no problem with kids, but making them wait is maybe not the easiest) Pool table, cards on each table and friendly staff making sure our wait was comfortable. This in fact reminds me of Dinning in top end restaurants where first you sit and unwind with a drink, before being shown to your table without the need to buy overpriced drinks first.Once shown in to the restaurant, very courteously, we were greeted by a member of the service team, very smiley and engaging, ensuring we were comfortable and explaining the restaurant to us. This lady was the waitress for our table for the evening. Watching her work and actively engage with every guests at every opportunity was great to see. And in fact every other service team member was doing the same. At this restaurant, they clear dirty plates as they go, unlike so many others where they only clear your table when you get up and go.The various meats, vegetables and seafood we ordered was very fresh and flavorful, even through the Sichuan spice numbness. The restaurant also offers free shoe shine and nail bar complimentary. If you order a certain type of noodles, which is worth doing, a chef comes out and does the Chinese version of pizza dough flinging, incredible to watch. Sauces are available at a generously stocked counter with several types of sliced fruit, chilled salads and additional condiments for hot pot.The very high standard was maintained throughout our evening and from what I could see every surrounding table would be saying the same. When the bill arrived, it turned out to be great value for money. I am not ordinarily a huge fan of hot pot, but will go back. I will gladly recommend this place and would tell everyone and anyone that will listen that this is a truly remarkable example of Chinese service standards.

OK, so this place seems to attract more visitors than locals but this was explained that locals tend to have their favourite dumpling place close to home. The restaurant is cavernous in appearance obviously to hold as many people as possible. The local dumplings were great as were the other dishes we had. It's one of those places where you should visit as the food is very good and there is great history attached to the place.

Both lunch and dinner at this place has dropped. Was told that the pervious chef had been transfed to another city. Like all Shang Places worldwide, the Cantonese food here still has some quality. Service was very good. Besides, that, there is nothing else to add.
