Reviews on Chinese food in Keelung, Taiwan. Keelung, officially known as Keelung City (Chinese: 基隆市; pinyin: Jīlóng Shì), is a major port city situated in the northeastern part of Taiwan. It borders New Taipei with which it forms the Taipei–Keelung metropolitan area, along with Taipei itself. Nicknamed the Rainy Port for its frequent rain and maritime role, the city is Taiwan's second largest seaport (after Kaohsiung).
Things to do in Keelung
Located on a small, quiet lane next to the Cheng-Huang Temple. This restaurant is recommended by many food lovers. Iâve visited this restaurant for more than ten times. It provides Chinese cuisine, mainly Sichuan style and Taiwanese style. Almost all dishes are delicious with reasonable price. The owner is a nice genuine lady. All of the staffs are efficient and friendly. Because the dishes served by this restaurant are relatively large, this restaurant is more suitable for group luncheons/ dinners (three persons or more) than solo guest. No English menu is available, and the staff are not so fluent in English. So, better to visited this restaurant with a friend who knows Chinese.

It took some effort to find this restaurant as it is on the 32nd floor of a shopping mall and hotel tower about 8 blocks or so from the Keelung train station and takes two elevators to access but once inside it's a comfortable setting with high rise views. The menu is "all you can eat" in a two hour setting for $15 USD. We struggled to understand the English translation, but basically you request which broths, and then choose the food in flights. Everything was fresh and the broths were tasty without being overspiced.

old street food, very good and local bite. Fried bun with mayonnaise, egg, cucumber. One of my favorite in the Keelung night market. Totally worth a try if you pass by.

Up to 18th floor, we had a wonderful lunch buffet in the restaurant. Fantastic view with multiple selections of soup , salad, appetizer, main courses, and of course , fresh brewed coffee and dessert. Relax and 100% satisfaction!
