Things to do in Karachi
We are changing the meaning of Chinese with our grandeur buffet from a selection of Salads, Appetizers, DimSum, Main Courses and much more!
During our short trip to Karachi we have managed to taken in a few restaurants and cafes. So when we were recommended to try out GinSoy live for lunch , we didn't take too long to decide The new outlet is located on KHY -E - SHUJAAT and KHY-E-Bukhari The restaurant has Valet parking available, although ample self parking is available in the opposite plot. We were a party of 4 and were warmly welcome at by charming your Reservation lady who swiftly offered us to our table. The restaurant was pretty full and we were lucky that just a couple of tables were available Nadeem the order taker quickly introduced himself and explained the Buffet and Starter options Soups were individually ordered Hot and Sour Corn Soup and I ordered the vegetable Soup. While I enjoyed my soup , I enjoyed the the contemporary design of the interior and the modern and comfortable furniture. Normally music you hear is in the background, but was please to have a Live organ player Shahid playing lovely Pakistani tunes of yesteryear. Shahid was also very accommodating in playing tunes on request The buffet is quite extensive and would serve to meet all Carnivores desires. As starters my wife had some dynamite prawns and chicken and Vegetable spring rolls for the table while everybody chose from the Buffet that include Garlic Rice. Egg fried rice. Strip fried vegetables. Prawns Hunan chicken and other beef fish dishes Being a Vegan the only option was Garlic rice and Stir fried vegetables I went for a second round and thsi time tried out the salad bar that had more chances of staying a vegan. Alongside the salad bar was the dessert selection I must say quite tempting , but I gave it a pass and had fruit salad that consisted of water melons sweet melon and some dates. During our enjoyable lunch we were pleasantly surprised by a visit to our table from Ayesha who is the Desserts Chef of GinSoy live She enquired about our lunch experience and I must say all 4 of us gave a big thumbs up. One suggestion I would make and also passed on to her is to perhaps more healthy and alternative options for VEGANS and Vegetarians. Overall the experience with cuisine was good and Service provided by Nadeem was great and I would not hesitate in recommending GINSOY LiVE as a family friendly restaurant

Have never been disappointed at China Town. The food is always piping hot and delicious! They have two menus, one that is traditional Pakistan style Chinese while the other is traditional Chinese (but not sure from where as I've never sampled it)

Rice & Noodle Bar - Wok your way into the flavourful world of Pan Asian cuisine! Real food for real people at real prices!
We had heard a lot about Chop Chop Wok and went there with high expectations. On entrance, we found the ambiance ok but the seating wasn't very comfortable and one got a feeling of cramped spaces. Like most fusion restos, we had to select from a good variety of bases, flavours and proteins producing over 50 combinations in Cantonese, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Pan Asian and Oriental flavours. Though many people like this concept but I never found it convincing. My logic is very simple.... good food is not about the option of mixing various things at the spot and come up with a different dish every time....quality cooking is an art and it takes quite a bit of imagination, skill and care to produce a quality dish. And then there is an expertise that a cook (or a restaurant) acquires over a period of time. So an outstanding cook of Chinese food may not be that good in desi or Arabic foods per se. Now Thai, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Japanese etc are quite different cooking styles and develping and expertise in all of them by a single restaurant is very difficult. So most fusion restos produce a food that is similar in taste, regardless of the falvour that you select simply because the cook and the cooking place is same. So this was about the concept basically, not a criticism on Chop Chop Wok per se. The restaurant management has done a pretty decent job managing the place. The prawn dish that we ordered in Cantonese style was good but the beef in Thai style wasn't much to our liking. Quality of meat wasn't good and we kept chewing it for qutie some time. Overall, a nice place to go if you aran't fussy about this thing that Chinese must taste like Chinese food and Thai must taste like Thai food.

I would say it was quite a different experience, the ambiance, menu and service style is certainly unique and probably the reason for a good success story.the soups offered are good and the food is of average taste.should try once for an unorthodox eat out.

Ginsoy is a contemporary fine dining Chinese restaurant that serves flavorful Chinese cuisine in a sleek and colorful environment.
Ginsoy is understaffed. They can't handle big groups. Food is not served properly and comes in intervals. Which is very annoying.
