Had dinner with my family at this place on Sunday. Plenty of seats at 5:30pm. Roast chicken is highly recommended, the best I have had in Melbourne. Ice chendol is very nice too. Serves are pretty generous. Being here a few times already. Serving can be slow during peak hours.

The Wonton House is pretty well hidden away in the Century Walk and given the plethora of eating places in the Kingsway a restaurant needs to be good, or different, in order to attract people to its doors. The Wonton House is neither. It offers a range of dim sum all day not only at yum cha. However, they are average run of the mill dim sum which are OK but not enough to attract me to the place. On top of that they are more pricey than those offered in close proximity.
Dainty has not disappointed. It's the place for authentic Sichuan food with the specialties on hotpots and bbqs. The cold dishes and entrees are also delicious and go well to soothe the palate post-chillies exposure. Expect the main dishes to be big !

This timeless place appears to have undergone some minor facelifts - new (no longer sticky) carpet and chairs for starters. Together with very warm, friendly, courteous and efficient staff, it made for a very nice visit. The food however, is a bit ordinary. It wasn't bad or poor but just not memorable or outstanding. It's not a bad place - I don't mind a return at all - but these days, diners are spoilt for choice and if they can kick the food up a notch, it'd be terrific.

TIP. Restaurant is on Stephensons Road. Large car park at rear, with rear pedestrian entrance into restaurant.Smart looking table cloths. Two of us sat in a 4 person booth - nice, comfy, roomy seating. Long tables are available for small groups. At 6pm on this Saturday there were plenty of spare seats.TIP. BYO wine is permitted, but $7 per bottle corkage. The in-house wines are reasonably priced, so leave the BYO at home. Wines available by the glass. Beers available. Food is Hakka style (region in SE China) with Swedish influence. The #5 Hakka Fried Prawns with Steve's spicy Hakka dipping sauce were a delicious entree, and the Masala (spicy) Fish main course (pictured) was absolutely scrumptious - so full of spicy flavours - with Egg Rice side dish. And the Swedish Cake w ice cream for dessert was really good also. We'll have to go back again.

We went to their previous location over many years and never had a bad experience.Recently we returned to the new premises but we left quite disappointed. The service is great and the staff are excellent, can't fault their customer service, but the menu has changed quite a bit, the dishes we went to experience again were no longer being served. We had the lettuce cups which were delicious. Our mains were the garlic prawns, very generous and well received. The next two mains were Cantonese beef which was quite a rich red sauce base and the teriyaki chicken, which was also served in a very rich sauce, most likely something you'd make from a jar at home. The last two dishes were served with lots of broccoli and snow peas, no other veges. We left deciding we'd wait until they moved back to their old premises so see if some of the old meals returned.

We have eaten in and also had take away food from the Dumpling Empire on numerous occasions. Each and every time the food never disappoints. The chicken and prawn dumplings are exceptionally good. The sizzling beef is super yummy. My favourites are the fried tofu and the black fungus salad. I have never really had a bad meal from this restaurant. Dumpling Empire is a very popular restaurant and it can get quite busy. We are going again this coming weekend (26/10/19) to celebrate two family B-days with a group of 8 people. We are looking forward to it. I am going to take other travellerâs suggestions and try the fried chicken. If you are planning on giving this restaurant a try, then I suggest you book if you want to ensure your party has a table. However, they donât mind the people who walk in on the spur of the moment wanting a meal before or after going to the movies.

Qilin is a quality Chinese restaurant in the suburbs. Stylish fit out, well spaced tables and nice tableware. Thereâs a small range of nice mocktails which can be easily adapted to being cocktails with the addition of vodka or rum. Drinks list is long with a good range of wines by the glass. We had the banquet. This included: a curried scallop (delicious), sang choi boy (great textures), Peking duck (superb), salt and pepper king prawns (great), peppered steak (eye fillet), Kung Pow chicken with cashews, fried rice and banana fritter. The service was outstanding and the food a cut above your local suburban Chinese. The place was dead quiet, not sure why as everything was terrific.Would highly recommend

Came here for lunch and was not disappointed. Had the fried beef noodles, portion was value for money. You cannot go wrong with this place, except for the sitting arrangement, table are too close to each other and also small for two main dish and a side dish.
