Remember when you were a child and you put up a train at Christmas or saw a train display in a store window? It's like that every day here. The museum includes O-, HO-, N-, G- and TY-gauge layouts. Many of the layouts have been donated to the Museum for preservation and sharing with others. We use them, along with our original construction to tell the story of railroading in American history, especially the impact on westward expansion. The Children's Train Experience has been designed with the younger enthusiast in mind. In this room they can play with the wooden trains, watch train videos, read books about trains, draw on the chalkboard and color train pictures. We have a Railroad Research Center with a wide range of information on railroads, history and railroad modeling. Our Recycled Railroad allows us to sell donated model train materials at affordable prices to help support Museum programs.
My wife and I were on a day trip to Hermann, Missouri and decided to make a stop in at the Iron Spike Model Train Museum on the way to see if they could be of assistance selling a 1946 Lionel train set we have. What was expected to be a short stop lasted much longer, We were immediately blown away by what we saw, along with the friendly and professional way visitors are treated. A wonderful and knowledgeable all volunteer staff! Their obvious dedication to preserving the past is as enjoyable as the museum itself. As other reviewers have noted, the attention to detail is incredible! Imagine a coup filled with 1/8" tall chickens, hand made mountains, trees, rivers and lakes while trains pass though the scenery. My wife has no interest in model trains but was totally fascinated by what she saw and learned as did I. The "short stop" turned out to be the best stop. BTW, I found the hot dog vendor. You'll know what I'm talking about when you visit,

This fun-filled attraction offers kids many hands-on learning activities and provides a special area for younger children.
Took my grandson to the Magic House and we had a great time! He had a ball, loved playing with digging equipment, playing in the bubble room, putting on the Blues gear and well he loved everything. Can’t wait to go back, we purchased a yearly pass and he now asks his parents to go all the time. Great time for kids and family.

Kaleidoscope nourishes the creative spirit. It is a place where all children and their families are invited to be creative, have fun, and feel good about their own special ideas. Provided by Hallmark Cards, Kaleidoscope is FREE! At Kaleidoscope, children use their imaginations to make art with materials from Hallmark’s manufacturing processes. Some are cut into shapes, while others are left just as Hallmark sends them. And Hallmark provides different materials so the projects are ever-changing!
Love to take the grands to visit Kaleidoscope! Every visit to town they ask Tonga for a visit! They can explore their creativity, all the art supplies they could ever dream of!

Discovery Center for children and their families. Fun and unique exhibits like a dinosaur dig, vet clinic, interactive video wall, slide with radar, magnetic ball wall and a giant UFO maze...just to name a few.
Love this place so much that I bought a gift card a few months ago! Our little one is under 2 but still gets a lot of of this place, it’s less overwhelming than science museum and feels a lot cozier with the layout of the difference zones/activities!

Experience the Bible like you never have before at the world's only creation museum offering free guided tours and free admission to all visitors. Take a free guided tour from Creation to Christ with Artifacts, Displays, Multi-media presentations, and more!
A free museum in Branson is rare and this one though small is a really good visit. Here you are presented with a different point of of view which includes science. It is a guided tour. There is lots of stuff to see and hear. Plan on at least an hour from when your tour starts. How soon your tour starts when you get there depends on how long the tour before you has been going. Though smaller (they are planning on building a bigger place closer to branson) the exhibits are every bit as good as the larger creation museum in Kentucky, content wise. Do yourself a favor and try it, it's free so there is no risk.

My first time with grandgirls=the conductor Jacob Schnidt was incredible, he made the trip sooooooooo incredibly better, such enthusiasm and FUN-also Cara Palombo added to the trip also-the entertainment and fun was well worth it-the only complaint i have is that the Christmas decorations were on the outside of the train on the right and people sitting on the left couldn't even see them.
