Ristorante pizzeria all'ingresso del paese di Montiano, vicino a Magliano in Toscana
I was on the way around Tuscany with my elderly mother and my 3 kids (ages 11, almost 8 and 6.5). We chose the place for the view in the first place - it was so nice... Ambiance of the restaurant was simple, but fire in the pizza over was enticing and promising the food is going to be good. Shrimp cocktail is not their strenght, menu in German was simply poorly translated, so we went for what we knew cannot be mistaken in an Italian restaurant - pomodori bruschetta, calzone and pizza. Instead of finely shopped pomodory bruschetta we got served something with cheese and liver spread - tasted ok(ish), but I got a sense it was not fresh, may have been even frozen from last day. Pizza was good, as one would expect. Evening was flowing and nice Tuscan evening was coming down, so we finally asked for our check - EUR 12 on top of the bill threw me off. And to my question what this charge was for the younger waiter displayed "confussione" on his face and went to call for chef, who was marching around with his big belly and chef's puffy hat. He told us something in Italian and then started articulating that the fee was for the table cloth and napkins they were kind enough to put at our disposal. My kids and I are well travelled, but we never saw anything like this - fee for table cloth and napkins, which was not disclosed in the menu or anywhere in the restaurant. We paid and left. Worst of all, I felt that I was taken out because we were foreign and did not speak the language. So, in short, beware of such places, which scam the customers and treat them different from local people - if you passing from Montiano, do drive by the Il Rialto, do not stop there.

We stopped here for a quick dinner...cheese, mixed salumi and wine all 100% local. Simone and crew are very good at what they do. We had our dinner downstairs where the cantina is properly set up as an old style tuscan/italian kitchen with sharing tables where you can steal advice from the regulars of The Salumeria. We highly recommend this place! Prices are very reasonable...said from an Italian!Dario&Abi

Cute garden and very good food. I had a wonderful steak. Right at the main entrance of the medieval old town of magliano.

Without a doubt, Nonsolopane was our favorite eatery in Italy. Every day we were in Maremma we started our day at Nonsolopane getting delicious sandwiches and pastries for the day. In addition to delicious food, we received wonderful recommendations for where to go and what to do. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner there also, and had the pleasure of watching the Italy v Germany soccer game. Thank you Nonsolopane for making our time in Maremma so special!

Trattoria Cupicucina Casalingaesclusivamente Carne
We went as a couple with two young children. The atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly, with a nice grassed area for children to play in while parents ate, not forgetting the beautiful Tuscan hills as a view. The waiter was very helpful and spoke perfect English, and explained a menu with lots of local dishes and exciting out of the ordinary options. I went for the florentine steak, 1.5kg of steak (!) with grilled vegetables and my girlfriend had the pollo al mattone (chicken cooked under a brick!). The steak was not only huge in size but unbelievably succulent and perfectly cooked in salt and olive oil - aside from the size, it was the best I've ever had. We then had some hand made panna cotta and almond biscuits with dessert wine, all of which were beautiful. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone in the Maremma region, for the uniqueness and quality of the food, the surroundings, and the quality of the service. This is one of those gems where you can tell how much effort is made to make an amazing experience for diners.

Quality and quantity go together in this very nice restaurant hidden among the walls of this ancient town. We had lunch outdoor in a sunny july noon and could barely finish what we ordered even if we asked only for starters and a main course. Starters are abundant and could be enough for a normal meal. The menu (very cheap) must be huge... (we haven't tried it)We had a tagliata (meat served on a hot stone so that you can decide if you want it rare or well done) which was literally melting in our mouth.Great value for money, definitely recommended!

We went there for dinner, and were ready for Guido's delicious food. We started with a antipasti misti, followed by four sorts of pastas, two with local truffle (amazing), two without (delicious). At that stage, only the most motivated followed... The pigeon was good, but not at delicious as the lamb and the cinghiale (wild boar). A nice tiramisu was the way to end this fantastic dinner, served with a very good house wine. Don't miss the experience, go to Guido, and take cash with you, as the card machine doesn't always work...

Complimenti

My husband and I dined at Mariaâs Trattoria last night. A fabulous and memorable meal. My husband is a vegetarian and when he told Luciano, cook/owner, Luciano gave us a big smile and said âno problem!â The wonders and delicacies proceeded from there. Our only recommendation would be to remember to pace yourself as each lovely course appears at your table. Maria and Luciano are great hosts!
Wide selection of typical Tuscan dishes cooked with particular attention to the innovations of contemporary culinary culture. You can choose our dishes from the Menu or you can leave the choice to our brillant chef.
