We found this farmhouse on the internet and stayed, with our adult children, for four nights. As we were attending a wedding, we did not eat dinner but those who did, seemed very satisfied. Breakfast was everything you asked for - if you wanted something, you got it - muesli, yoghurt, local proscuitto and cheese. I saw excellent bacon but did not try it. The bread and ravioli was freshly made on the premises by Sandro, the husband! The rooms were clean, comfortable and warm at night (even without duvets). Friends who stayed in a luxury villa 800m away did not have en-suite rooms whilst they paid much, much, more! Whilst it took a little time for hot water to make its way through to the room, once it did there was lots of it. The patio was a great place to sit, take in the scenery, read a book and savour a glass of the local wine or beer. Silvi (the wife), assisted by Anilka, was very attentive and sought to meet our every need including for information on local taxis etc. The walk into Vicchio was a reasonable 25 minutes and through beautiful countryside. Vicchio was a small village but had a railway station, an excellent wine bar (very welcoming and inexpensive), great cafe (again inexpensive), ATMs and hardware shop amongst other shops in its square. Our friends reported that Rupecanina had a good market with bargains to be had in cheeses etc. It was a little far to walk to the train station but there was good parking around it and the journey to Florence was very cheap - 4.5 Euro single. We are already planning our return journey and this is our top of list for half board.

The cook is a real character.Tuscan style.Withdrawn, yet smiling.Proud of his work and his restaurant, hiding somewhere up the hills of Vicchio.A small lake below.Charming.As is the cooking.Real meat, meaning fresh and well chosen.Spaghetti al dente, which means they are not served like mashed potatoes, but are boiled to perfection. There is outdoor seating. You can smoke ,but you won t .The taste of good local wine, the taste of fresh vegetables should not be tainted with tar.The prices are modest, almost cheap in relation to the quality of food. The guests are mainly Italians, people who know of good home cooking, just like nonna(which is the grandmother every Italian loves)

We had spent a day in Florence and had called our agriturismo for suggestions for a restaurant and this was their suggestions. They took all 14 of us. The servers tolerated our lack of Italian and were extremely helpful when it came to making suggestions! We had wonderful pizzas and pasta- possibly our best meal to that date despite our time in Venice!

We have bypassed this restaurant for quite some time as it's adjacent to a noisy wine bar in the town square and the outside tables abut each other which means rowdy tables and cigarette smoke. However we went on a whim on a week night and ate inside. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and tables are laid with linen tablecloths and napkins. The service was attentive and the menu a little different from the norm. If you like meat then this is for you. We had the salumi starter which was excellent as was the little lardo amuse bouche. We had the duck with prunes and onions as a main course which was good but weren't prompted to order vegetables unfortunately. A bit pricier than other local restaurants but worth a visit.

It's definitely worth making a reservation to eat here--otherwise, you will be disappointed..The restaurant itself is very small, and the kitchen is only open for lunch--they may serve hot food until 7? (didn't stick around to check)..there is no written menu (except on a blackboard), and the menu changes daily...The food was delicious and different..I had wonderful "strangle-the-priest" pasta--a very different style than I've had before--and wonderful! The 1/2 chicken was moist and tender, my husband's roast pork was delicious, and my dessert "bis" (I couldn't make up my mind!) was delicious as well...the fried zucchini flowers were amazing..Would I go back? Of course!

Un casolare nel cuore delle colline Toscane, dove poter staccare la spina e rilassarsi davanti ad un buon piatto e un calice di vino.
Excellent restaurant, full of locals enjoying the food , location and views. I had the beef with truffle which is amongst the best ânon Michelin â food Iâve eaten. Family had pizza which was excellent, my sons pizza Margarita was delicious. Book in advance as it was totally full when we went. Wish we had visited more than once during our stay.

Absolutely wonderful tagliata, worth a visit surely! Tried their pasta with ragu and pizza with tuna - everything was really good. Interior is nice and warm, staff is friendly and welcoming. Even on week day it was full so please think about making reservation in advance for weekend dinner if you want to have a guaranteed space. Strongly recommended and wish to come back one day!

Busy restaurant where we stopped for lunch. Steaks were enormous cooked on an open log burning oven which gave them a particularly smokey flavour. Tasty lasagna and homemade pasta dishes followed by a range of desserts. Prices reasonable and popular with the locals at lunchtime. Would recommend this restaurant for large parties but book before you arrive.Restaurant is closed on Wednesdays.
