Have been to Trento on a number of occasions with groups of people. The food is good, but going to a restaurant is an experience, food atmosphere location staff etc. We were in a group also meeting a couple of friends and 80 year old mother along with a dog that is blind and old and cannot be left in a car. However, we had no worries, we had booked for 13 people, we had been many times before and were eating outside on the pavement. However, the owner informed our friends that they could not sit outside the restaurant with a dog - the owners wife is allergic to dogs. We assumed this was the case as whilst she was mid rant she did a comedy routine of sniffing dramatically. We completely get that people are allergic to animals, but they were sitting outside on the pavement, which presumably is owned by the commune of Rapolano and the owners wife never leaves the kitchen. I think if they had handled it differently we might have been less upset, but they were rude beyond belief and created a real scene outside in front of everyone. Our friends and Mum left to find another restaurant with the dog. The restaurant is not in the most salubrious of locations in any case and we were made to feel very uncomfortable. Shortly after a couple arrived with a dog and were also turned away - not quite so rudely though.Smoking is allowed at the tables outside it seems. There are lots of super restaurants in Lucignano, which is very close by and a beautiful medieval town - all appear dog friendly!

# MODÃ proposes a Made in Tuscany kitchen revisiting the traditional dishes accompanied by a careful selection of wines of the territory and not only
The dining experience here was the best I had with my girlfriend while in Tuscany. The friendly waiter kindly guides you through the exciting menu and is very attentive. The food is fantastic especially the fish since the chef is from Naples. The desserts were perfectly executed which ended our meals with a big smile. Best of wishes to the restaurant and the chef. I highly recommend.

Chiuso per ferie dal 17.11.2016 al 10.12.2016
My wife and our three daughters have just had a fantastic dinner at Il Locale Di Guido. My wife and I shared a 1kg Fiorentina Steak, 2 daughters had Filet Steak and the little one had local pasta. We had a small bottle of wine and desserts. Everything was excellent. The service was great too. The entrance to the restaurant is a little peculiar but the dining area itself is lovely. We highly recommend.

Nice surprise in a what is an ordinary town of Tuscany. We had dinner two night in a row. So clearly worth going back. The website pictures do a good job describing the setting. Attended by foreigners and locals. Slightly more expensive than average with pasta dishes at 12 euros but well worth the price. The wine list is of goog value for those knowledgeable on the topic. We had apparetivos, 2 appetizers, 2 main, and a nice 2010 tuscan wine for a grand total of 100 euros. Not a lot of english here, but that adds to the charm if you have the energy to be cooperative. Didnt give it the 5 stars as the staff felt somewhat rushed to take our orders before the 9pm crowd.

We went to Ristorante La Mencia twice on our stay in the Asciano area. Both times, the food was magnificent and the atmosphere was great. We had quite a few different dishes, and pretty much none of them disappointed. The first night we had excellent service. The waiter was great assistance with the Italian only menu, and was friendly and helpful in general. The second night, was not quite the same story. Our waitress spoke close to no English, so we had very little help in chosing dishes. Worst of all, she completely misunderstood our orders, so 1 dish was missing and I was left waiting 10 minutes after the others finished their food to get my main. Overall we would probably go again give them the benefit of delivering such great food, and hope to get a different waiter/waitress the next time.

We had lunch here on a Tuesday. There is terrace seating (no smoking allowed) and inside seating as well. We sat outside with several other small groups of tourists. We ordered a bruschetta pomodoro and a ribollita for starters and pici pomodoro for our main course. The home made pici was excellent as was the pomodoro sauce. The bruschetta pomodoro was also good but seemed to lack garlic and no basil on top either. But the toasted bread, the fresh (not chilled) tomatoes and the olive oil (from the nearby Abbazia) were all very good. The ribollita, which is not cheap, was a little too salty for my taste. If I ate here again, I would not order it. The menu we were given had a good selection of antipasti as well as choose your own pasta and sauce. This was a great menu for vegetarians like us. We donât need and never order a secondi. Service was friendly and efficient. The red house wine was very good too. We plan to eat lunch here again on another day and can recommend it to other travelers in the area. The small village is scenic and the restaurant is conveniently located only a couple of kilometers from the Abbazia.

Our first night in Tuscany and we had earmarked this restaurant based on previous T/A posts and was absolutely spot on. Everything was perfect. Simple but sublime pasta, great wine recommendation, beautiful garden setting, friendly waitstaff. Could not fault this restaurant. If you are driving, there is no parking next to the restaurant - you need to park down the hill in the 'public' carpark about 200m and then walk back up.

Don't expect pizza or pasta here (they don't serve them!) but rather some great cheese selections and cured meats. The portions are large and the prices incredibly reasonable - our four dishes, half liter of wine and sparkling water was just 36E for lunch (fed three people). The crostini sampler (four varieties) was excellent with the truffle spread being the best one as well as the prosciutto and caprese dish (very tasty buffala cheese! The woman working behind the counter speaks some English so it is relatively easy to get service. Do take time to take the steps down to the historic cellar - it dates from the 7th century.
