Reviews on Central European food in Wiesbaden, Hesse, Germany. Tucked in a lovely valley between the Rhine River and the Taunus Mountains, Hesse's capital of Wiesbaden has long been an important spa city, dating back to Roman times when it was called Aquae Mattiacorum. In the 19th century, Wiesbaden also became a popular gambling center. For a soothing plunge, try the famous Kaiser Friedrich's Therme in the city center. And don't miss the Schlossplatz (Palace Square) and impressive Kurhaus Wiesbaden event and conference center, both within a few blocks.

A French brasserie in Wiesbaden featuring all the classics you would expect in a stylish decor. The steak frites and fondant au chocolat are very tasty.

Finally! I have finally found some of Germanyâs best beer...from Bavaria.Skip the Weizen. Pass on the Pils. Just order the Bavarian Hell or Dark beer and than me later! All kinds of Bavarian style meals to choose from. I ordered the Schlemmerpfanchen and it was great!

Bäckerbrunnen is an institution in Wiesbaden - whether for a couple of beers or for some hefty meals. Uncomplicated atmosphere, friendly staff, moderate prices. Schnitzel lovers will definitely enjoy the large choice and very generous portions. As I visited during asparagus season, I chose the Wienerschnitzel with fresh asparagus and Sauce Hollandaise: perfect breaded schnitzel (crispy without being too greasy), huge portion of white and green asparagus, delicious sauce.

How often in the midst of the first course do you say, we have to come back here. Not very often in my experience but dinner at Martino had is exclaiming that very thing.Fortunately we made a reservation. If we hadn't we wouldn't have managed to get a table like a few unwise people who were turned away because the restaurant was full and they hadn't planned ahead. This is a note for anyone who plans to go to Martino and everyone of you should get there. There's lots of room for improvement but based on what we saw on our first visit Martino is going to get better and better. There's a long communal table for 10 in the middle of the restaurant but it was full by the time we arrived. With only two service staff and 30 covers the restaurant is small and compact. Both servers do an exceptional job of taking orders, pouring wines and delivering the correct food to the right diners. The restaurant could stand a little more polish but that would probably mean more staff and possibly losing the neighborhood atmosphere the locals value. We both had the special menus. Mine was a carpaccio of thinly sliced shrimps that for all its transparency had the flavor of being pulled fresh from the sea. My Dining Companion's rounds of beet root was sweet and decorated with hazelnuts and marinated mushrooms. A delicious combination. As a rule I never order risotto. And I pretty much stick by this rule but risotto was part of the menu and I thought I'd see how good Martino was. The result was a perfect dry al dente rice topped with fresh tartufo bianco. And, for once, I wanted more. My DC's squash soup was good as expected. My main course of ente (duck) came with both a leg and a breast on a bed of spatzle in a brown sauce. Very German for this time of year and more like home cooking in presentation but showed the skills of a good kitchen in the perfect cooking of the duck breast as well as a subtle background flavor. The DC's beef shoulder was cooked well and shredded with every forkful. There were spices and flavors that enhanced this humble cut of meat and we both were by this time working out how soon we can return.A dark chocolate ganache square was one of the desserts, the other was a warm souffle which was a layered delight of warm, crunchy and icy delight. Our waiter offered wines by the glass which we were happy to accept. Each was explained and well chosen. Coffee and four small Liebkuchen were petite fours. For those who want fine dining food but are sometime intimidated by layers of white tablecloths and formality Martino offers the excellent food but not the stuffiness. We can't wait to return. l

Had pork schnitzels and beer. Both were good, as expected. Service was decent - not a long wait. Place was lively & crowded, but not overly so. This is a good average German restaurant.

Lambertus is a capricious companion for the magnificent Kurhaus Wiesbaden. The original furnishings laboriously assembled from Parisian restaurants and markets all over France create a charming setting for stylish banquets, glamourous parties and private
For a pre- or post- concert or theater drink, snack or meal it is an excellent place. We met there with friends after the Weihnachtskonzert at the Kurhaus, and we enjoyed the welcoming reception, the efficient service, the well prepared dishes, as well as the nice crowd.Thank you very much for taking your time to kindly recommend our restaurant. We are glad that you like what we do, and hope that we may welcome you back again!

I saw nice reviews from Tripadviser. However there were no place to eat today. It means...itâs popular branch restaurant. In the other hand, they didnât have any service for some customers such as us.Not waiting service, even pay attention for these missing customers. I hope they can improve these kinds of service.

Fine wines, regional Rheingau cuisine with game and fish.
Super nice terrace outside with outstanding friendly service from the typically dressed waitresses. Given it was Easter, menu suggestions were fish, which was greatly cooked. Kids menu is available. Unfortunately I was driving so could not taste the wine but my wife said it was delicious.

Went here after checking TripAdvisor. We were expecting really good food and service, but... Service was friendly, but not really observant. Schnitzel was okay, fajitas were lacking seasoning and the meat was dry. Did not meat the expectations created by prior reviews on TripAdvisor at all.
