We were genuinely impressed with this eatery. Being attached to a swimming pool, I wasn't expecting too much, but the service and the appearance of the food as well as the quality of the food was excellent. The other meals that other diners had also looked very good. We hand an excellent kinder schnitzel for our son, which all looked very fresh, and a soup and a salad. The soup was very well presented with a drizzle of oil and cress and carrot shards. The goats cheese salad was excellent with lots of fresh leaves, onion, carrots, tomato, chilli etc. I wouldn't have chosen to go to a restaurant next to a swimming pool, but I would definitely go there again.

Wow! Fantastic hotel in fantastic location serving fantastic food by fantastic staff .....and for all those who do not speak German (yes I know ....we are in Europe and really should learn!) ....an English menu! ....no need for a German phrase book here!...although Collins do a really good one with a Food Section just in case....Before dinner we took advantage of the two lane bowling alley downstairs with 4 people on each team... Cost is a very reasonable 10 euro per lane and that is for one hour... not for how many are playing. Then after building up an appetite, we went upstairs to sample the menu. Great selection of starters and mains...we couldn't manage a dessert....far too filled already. Recommend the curried chicken soup, goulash and grilled prawns for starters ..( not at the same time) and for mains if there are two of you to share try the Chateaubriand steak...totally out of this world. pork strogonoff was also excellent.

Visiting Bad Reichenhall and its lovely local mountain Predigstuhl, we thought we'd missed out the chance of again staying in the Gasthof Burgerbrau as I couldn't book it through Booking.com. A quick email to the hotel, and we were in! Again I was stunned by this lovely place. The staff as ever were friendly ( no Brexit here ) and helpful, the rooms spacious and super-clean and the location virtually unbeatable. This year we took two friends who were new to lovely Bavaria, including one who had never 'enjoyed' Germany but this trip did the trick; she loved this hotel as much as I did - this is my 4th stay - and it coloured her visit to Southern Germany positively. We're back from our trip now and I miss this gorgeous building, and it's caring staff. If you're ever visiting the gorgeous Bad Reichenhall - and scruffy UK towns have a lot to learn here - you'd do far worse than stay at the Burgerbrau, a jewel in the crown of this lovely town.

This is a very good example of a typical Bavarian Gastenhof serving very well priced local food with the additional value of a magnificent view to the Alps and a lovely emerald green lake.Worth the 34 Km detour from the beautiful Ramsau

We are a small family-run restaurant with attached hotel. Our cuisine serves fresh dishes with a French accent. All rooms are bright and comfortable. They have balcony with mountain view as well as new bathrooms with rain shower, raised toilet, hairdryer,
a contemporary interior that is well done; very tasty food, well presented, with very helpful staff (the French speaking chef from Alsae came to speak to us when he found out we spoke French), and reasonably priced especially given the high quality of the food. For example, on the chef's recommendation I tried his quiche appetizer, even though I'm usually not too crazy about it - his was excellent. Have no reservations about recommending this place

We eat here very time we visit Austria. We actually stay in the next village, but it's become a tradition to visit the Schweizer for Sunday lunch. We are even recognised by the waiter, who has been there years. That's pretty impressive considering we are only annual visitors! The food is always extremely good, the service excellent and the restaurant itself is extremely attractive. It's a great place to eat when in Lofer and we wouldn't go anywhere else.

As English people eating in a foreign establishment it can sometimes be a little daunting. An Italian themed restaurant in an Austrian village did concern me, however, we shouldn't have worried about it at all. The staff were friendly and helpful and they spoke to us in English, superb ambience, efficient service but not the cheapest. Having said that it all tasted great. ....we have visited this restaurant on 3 occasions and it was worth paying a little more. They have a good chef and he produces a varied special of the day. ...which appears to be very popular. ...Great restaurant

For lovers of smoked fish it's a must whenever driving from Bavaria to the Salzburg resorts in the Saalbach valley. On the right side of the road, a few kilometers before the border, you can buy delicious fresh smoked trouts to go, and also you can eat them sitting in a nearby nice and homey room.We liked them so much that we bought two more big, smoked "lax-forellen" (salmon-trouts) - to enjoy on a picnic the next day. (Cost: 16 â¬, weight 0.8 kg)Very, very tasty!

Welcome to our restaurant and biologic farm in Lofer. We are a family organisation. We want to offer regional food with local ingrediants from our own farm.
This is perhaps one of the best places for real traditional home made mountain cabin food what the local farmers and forresters would eat during their working adventures in the mountain woods. Very simple, rustic, delicious, authentic, genuine and nutricious. Lots of calories but after a good day of walking, hiking or climbing this is a must to recover quickly. The owners do the cooking and serve the food themselves. They only have a few tables inside and wise to make a reservation as they also host many local guests or from their own guest appartments. The place is located almost in the middle of nowhere. But easy access by car or when passing by by foot or mountainbike. The prices are low and they are such nice people. I like this place a lot and I highly recommend it. They deserve your visit. The menu is small and simple. No long wine lists or so. Please keep that in mind. Just like the most people only speak German and no English.
