Had an excellent meal here of Klose (potato ball) with a plum (real plums) gravy accompanied by a bacon wrapped filet. One of the best meals we had on our week and a half trip as it was not the typical schnitzel. The meal was well prepared and had an excellent flavor. Not sure if the gravy is seasonal as it was, or was getting close, to plum season. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you find yourself in Schlitz

Very good food, nicely presented, good mixture between local favourites and international quisine .... surely one of the best places around! Recommendation: Sit inside the Stube! Outside and in winter garden fine with kids too!

Nice traditional local food in a traditional, relaxed and cosy atmosphere. If you can manage to get a table outside on a nice warm evening - do it, the restaurant is in a very nice location and probably even looks better from the outside then from the inside.

We are a family of 4 and we were travelling from Spain to Denmark. We made a stop for the night around dinner time in the hotel next door. The restaurant is attached to the hotel for easy access and the interior is very "gemütlich" which gives a nice atmosphere to the place. We ordered two rumpfsteaks and a baron-platter (2 person menu). The meat and accessories were delicious. The dishes were of the high standards that you would expect to find in Germany. The restaurant has a large menu that ranges from classic german dishes to croatian specialities. We finished off in croatian manner with a shot of sleovic (pardon the spelling) to settle the food. We ended up paying 80⬠which included a tip.

Along with our great stay at the hotel facility, this restaurant was the star of the show. Very interesting, diverse menu with terrific presentation and outstanding quality. Even if this place weren't super (which it is), it's the only show in this tiny village worth your time, appetite and money. See my review of the hotel for more detail on the restaurant, and be sure to try the wild boar and the venison dish.

We stayed only one night during our Maerchenstrasse trip. The bungalows in the back yard are pretty clean, nice and well designed. There is a small garden so the kids can play. It was extremely comfortable for a family with twins. The restaurant was also nice and we enjoyed really good local food and beer.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon and had a table on the terrace directly on the Markt. Very friendly and speedy service. The food was first class and very good selection of wine. Well worth a visit

I came here with a collegue and it was a nice surprice in the middle of the small town of Hunfeld.Place is really german: tiny room with few table and the drink bar.I have eaten the pork Axe: very well cooked!! The dessert was quite big and nice as well: the warm apple with cinnamon was wonderfulOnly negative is that is not accepting the Visa card for payment, so get some cash before coming here.

I was with a group of six colleagues and we had an excellent dinner in the zum Stern restaurant. Pls note that this has a Michelin bib gourmande. Le Etoile in the same hotel as a Michelin star, so it's name ( the star) is very appropriate. We all had very nice starters and excellent mains. Recommendable. Quite good food and the process are ok, but not the best atmosphere. However, for a ok meal when passing thru Alsfeld IT world and is value for the money.
