Reviews on Central European food in Prague, Bohemia, Czech Republic. The word Prague means “uphill” and yes, the city Prague stands to its name. The amazing views from Prague Castle and the parks in Letná, Petřín and Vinohrady prove this. The hills surround a beautiful medieval center divided by a river in the picturesque Little Quarter and the cobblestone heart of Old Town in the Jewish Quarter. A stone’s throw from Old Town, you can find buzzing shopping in the cultural neighborhood of New Town. Everyone finds what they seek in Prague, and surely falls in love with this city.

The salmon tartare is really interesting because it comes with parmesan cheese on top, a bit of salad on the side (the dressing tasted like mango puree) and slices of bread with pesto. The small salad is equally delicious and the tomato was bursting with flavor and was sweet. The tuna steak was seared and a little raw in the middle, which is the way I like it. Served with ratatouille. Overall, excellent. They've given me some ideas for my next cooking.

SOVA is a place of modern cuisine with elements of traditional Czech dishes. Here you can taste Smoked carp salad with a real wood smoke, Veal cheeks stewed in red wine with mashed potatoes and âbrushwoodâ made from celery, Signature dark beer sorbet with
After having several very heavy meals of âauthenticâ Czech food, we were so happy to eat at Sova. The atmosphere is light and bright. The duck liver pate with onion jam, pumpkin soup, duck salad with figs, trout with carrot puree, goulash soup were not only beautifully/artfully presented, but delicious and light as well. The âpearâ dessert with mousse was especially lovely. Thanks fellow travelers for recommending Sova to us. I would like to mention that the staff was so accommodating and nice after we arrived on the wrong date. They were able to seat us without making us feel badly in a nice alcove. A+ for service as well as dinner.Dear Arlene,Hello!Thank you for your visit and review! We're glad that you had an enjoyable time with us!Hope to see you again!

In the Michelin star award-winning Alcron Restaurant (2012 - 2016), an intimate restaurant with seating for only 24 people, guests can select from an extensive tasting menu featuring fresh fish & seafood prepared with creativity and flair by one of the be
We were four family members and ordered four dishes each which we shared. Everyone agreed all the dishes were perfection: original, beautifully plated, with layers of taste soaking in with every bite. The service and atmosphere were excellent. The waiters attentive but not overbearing. Order at least five dishes per person as they are not very big and the difference in price is small.

Experience an electrifying atmosphere The river Vltava flowing under your feet, a romantic view of the Charles Bridge and a newly designed interior inspired by the dynamic water surface. Add to that the exceptional food with an emphasis on getting every d
This was the most boring multi-course fine dining restaurant we visited throughout our trip in Europe. The veal tartare lacked acidity, salt, and flavor in general while a vegetable side/purée on the meat dish was too acidic and sour. Nothing impressed us throughout the courses and the wine pairings. The experience at this restaurant was not at all worth the price.Dear TLf26,thank you for your review. I´m very sorry to ready your feedback. I can only apologize and promise, that we will do steps with my colleges in kitchen to make sure, that every single dish served has the highest possible quality. Wish you all the best in futere traveling. Pavel S.

The Grand Cru Restaurant was built in a beautiful location on the former place of restaurant Red Table, in a baroque house with a courtyard, a few steps from Petrske square. The Grand Cru Restaurant is headed by Premier Wines & Spirits Group, which is one
One of the best fine dining restaurants we have experienced anywhere in the world. The service and food come no better. Our sommelier, Patrick paired the wine beautifully with our tasting menu, even taking us to their wine cellar for a viewing. The manager, Lukas was attentive to every detail timing the plates with our pairings , and the waitress, Veronica assisted with making our 26th Anniversary evening very special and memorable. Thank you. Thank you very much for your lovely comment and we are looking forward to your next visit

Cooking with seasonal ingredients, their origin and, above all, quality are essential for us. We use both modern and traditional, years-proven procedures to let real taste of authenticity stand out. Our main ingredient is love. We believe it will know abo
3.5 stars. This is an upscale restaurant. The kitchen is an open concept where the customers can see the chefs cooking. The appetizers were good. God the snails, carp ceviche and the mushroom.Got the tripe dish. It wasn't for me. Definitely get the duck breast. It was about 20 minutes wait from our appetizers to our main course. Price wasn't too bad.

The one on the best places out of centre for sure...coctail bar, fresh fish, perfect steaks, lokal beers, smiling staff, perfect food.
We went to Letem Svetem last week after not being there for over a year or so. As always we were welcomed with a smile, like old friends. The owner is as pleasant as always, enthusiastic and generally concerned about guests. The food was absolutely perfect, especially the mushroom soup, I still remember its flavour - rich but subtle, smooth and packed with flavour - no doubt the best soup (of any kind) I have had so far. My main course - fish - was sublime, perfectly cooked with interesting variety of greens (really high quality veggies!). I definitely recommend this place, because there are very few restaurants where you get such great food along with genuinely friendly and not uptight atmosphere :) thank you again team Letem Svetem, see you soon.

I cannot put into words how fabulous this little restaurant is. I came for my birthday and could not have asked for better. The service was superb, staff had explained where ingredients had been local sourced, had offered great suggestions and knew there product. Friendly & attentive. Restaurant is small but the evening we had been there a great atmosphere. Food was delicious, great size portions and incredible value. Sadly we went on our last evening, if we had found on our first I would not have eaten anywhere else!! Dear Karen, thank you very much for your kind words, we are very proud and pleased that we could contribute to your birthday celebration in any way! Great that you enjoyed our offers and the way we treat our guests. We would be very pleased to welcome you back to our family restaurant again!

Small non smoking restaurant with excellent food and friendly staff.
A bit out of town but accessible by public transport (or about 15 mins by taxi). Nicely presented restaurant. Staff really friendly and great hosts. Menu is great - traditional food really nicely done. The fois gras was delicious. The guinea foul was delightful. We were too full for dessert. They have local wines which were great.A really pleasant meal.

Quality combined with simplicity. Czech ingredients. This combination creates an unforgettable experience in the heart of the historical part of Prague in Smetana Restaurant, along with a magnificent view.
Our hotel was around the corner from this place. We walked by at different times of day and there were rarely any people sitting outside and only a few inside. There are 2 parts to this restaurant [fine dining and a pizza takeaway] and if you count the hotel part, three. We decided to give the fine dining part a go and sit outside. The waiter was full of smart remarks and attitude plus he couldn't really care if it was busy or not - his words. I ordered a prawn salad and my friend some pasta [and fries which she never got, as he didn't write it down]. My prawns were so over cooked they were mush, then there were the heads on top, 2 tomatoes and rocket were all there was to this tasteless, overpriced meal with a lemonade. I paid 550Kr and a tip was expected too. My friend's pastas was also tasteless and of a very basic standard, not what is expected of fine dining. Interesting side note - while we sat there a storm came. One table had a group of 4 on it, they were asked to go inside, we were not and all around they cleared the tables. I really felt treated like a tourist. I wouldn't recommend this place at all.Dear guest,We are very sorry to see you had an unpleasant experience in our restaurant. We always try to exceed the expectation of our guests and we wish to create memorable experiences for each and every one of them. Unfortunately, set backs might occur, which can lead to guest satisfaction. We would like to make it up to you, and to change your impression of Smetana Restaurant as soon as possible. Will you be so kind and send us an email at [email protected]? We would love to reserve our best table for you and prove you we are true professionals. We are looking forward to hearing back from you!Warm regards,Pavel Barkman
