Its station is a major railway junction and it has a port on the river Main, making it an important transport centre. The town is known for being the birthplace of Jakob and Wilhelm Grimm and Franciscus Sylvius. Since the 16th century it was a centre of precious metal working with many goldsmiths. It is home to Heraeus, one of the largest family-owned companies in Germany.

This is nestled away in quiet Kesselstadt. Wonderful German and Croatian food. The portions were huge and could probably be split in two. The herrenschitzel (pork cutlet rolled around seasoned beef) and the pork medallions with onions, mushrooms and pickles were both amazing. It appeared that fresh ingredients were used where ever possible. It was small and quiant with a small biergarten outside.

Das Restaurant liegt in der Mitte eines Einkaufzentrums in einem kleinen künstlichen See. Das Lokal macht einen sauberen Eindruck, es gibt eine offene Küche mit dem Steinofen.Das Essen war schmackhaft, fast für meinen Geschmack zu groÃ/viel (Pizza und Nudeln) aber trotzdem gut.Die Nachteile sind ein teilweise offener Raucherbereich, die Lautstärke im Lokal selber. Es mutet eher einem Schnellrestaurant als einem gemütlichen Lokal an.

My family of 4 adults stopped in here for a Saturday evening meal, and were very satisfied with the experience. It is a warm and charming pub style setting. It was asparagus season so they had a special menu in addition to their regular offerings. They had an english menu available, if you request. The waitstaff all spoke flawless english as well. The cream asparagus soup was delicious, salads were fresh and interesting with an herb dressing, and all the meats were prepared to our liking. The big winners were the park medallions with peppered port and cognac gravy, and the pork chop with mushrooms. The portions were extremely generous so we had no room for dessert. Service was pleasant, but a bit slow and inattentive. Overall a good experience.

This is the second trip where I have stayed in this hotel. Everything has been super clean, the staff are super friendly. Today I had dinner here and was so very impressed. In fact, the local population come here for dinner. I think there are only a handful of guests in the hotel but the restaurant is packed!

I found this restaurant by chance. Located on a quiet square in historic Steinheim and surrounded by half-timbered buildings it is great for sitting out on a summer evening. I'd already eaten and just had a cooling drink. I was impressed by the friendly service and the business travellers nearby obviously came often when in the vicinity. Always a good sign!I went back a couple of evenings later with colleagues and enjoyed a great meal. Our waiter, Alex, was very friendly and patient and had a great sense of humour, as we discussed our choices, made special requests, etc.The food was very tasty and freshly made, with German specialities, pizza and internaional cuisine. Good value for money.I'll definitely be back when I'm in Steinheim / Hanau again.

We enjoyed a sunny lunch at this bar. You sit on the square of Hanau, "Marktplatz" and have a nice view on the city hall and the Grimm brothers statue. We had some bruschetta and a ceasar's sallad. Both were good, but nothing special. Beer selection is bad. The service was quite friendly but I wish they would have recommended to add extras to the ceasar's sallad as we did not realize that when you order a ceasar sallad, it's just without proteins.There is another relatively new bar (opnened 2014?) on the same square which is slightly better (especially drink menu).

We frequent this restaurant often and always have a very good meal. Staff is normally attentive and accommodating for English only patrons. Atmosphere is lively and the outside seating is very nice.

This place is easy to be overseen from the road. But if you enter, then you will see the nice garden at the back where you can have a good german beer and a traditional dish. Only open in the afternoon and for dinner!

Had a business lunch arranged here, as suggested by the person I had a meeting with. Was pleasantly surprised by everything, nice place inside, we sat outside as the weather was very nice. Started off with one of the better cappuccinos I've had for a while and for lunch ordered the goat cheese salad. A lot of different ingredients, plenty of goat cheese and a very nice dressing. At first sight expensive, but if you look what you get it's very good value for money. All natural ingredients. The place was very busy, which is a good sign, also many locals which usually also means that quality is good, which I can confirm.
