Second only to Berlin in size and population, the city of Hamburg is home to one of the biggest harbors in Europe. A stroll along its many waterways and canals illustrates why it has been called the "Venice of the North." Don't miss a trip to the local fish market (Fischmarkt), the Merchants District (marked by its imposing red-brick architecture), a fine dining experience along the river or a night out in the university quarter. And did we mention the Reeperbahn (red light district)? It's quite famous for its… red lights.

Welcome to âDas Dorfâ: Our restaurant has a decades-long tradition since it has been established in 1848. It has always been the meeting point for friends of enjoyment and entertainment. Quite a few call it to the secret canteen of crew members of Deutsch
We had a large party of 11 that wanted to dine here. We had to make 2 reservations to cover all of us but they seated us next to each other so it was fine. The service was friendly and pleasant. A few of us got the wiernershnitzel and it made everyone who didn't get it very jealous. It was tender, tasty, and filling. The portion sizes were large (the "side salad" was massive). We got to eat out doors, which was great, but I can imaging that it would be awesome to be indoors on a cold day, enjoying good food and good friends in the surroundings there. It seemed really cozy inside.Dear Guys, thank you so much for reviewing us with 5 stars. You make us proud and really very happy. We are appreciating a lot your compliments and hope to see you all again. So cheers and once again thanks,Axel Strehlitz and his entire crew.

"Meat", "Eat" and "Meet" merge into [m]eatery and give the innovative steakhouse its name. Besides the best steaks in town, various tartar specialties, wonderful grilled fish and homemade burgers are also highlights that can be enjoyed. The wine card and
Second visit at Meatery Bar & Restaurant. Very friendly reception. Ordered âBlutwurstâ as a starter with an IPA as I was very thirsty. Both excellent choices. The âBlutwurstâ came with potato purré and onion rings. Very posh taste. Nicely balanced and elegant. Try it!As main dish I had a dry aged T-Bone steak. The meat is short traveled. Order normally medium rare, but was advised to order medium last time, which I did this time as well. The meat is absolutely world class. Cross outside, rare and soft inside with a fantastic meat taste. 69 EUR. Service âDidiâ advised for a South African Cabernet Sauvignon in the glass coming at 12 EUR. Great choice as well. I pre booked a table on their web pages - very friendly service with world class tasting experience. Definitely will be back.Helpful? Thx for a helpful vote. The restaurant fits well for business meetings.

Thomas Martin and his team will continue to interpret original French haute cuisine in their own inimitable way. The menu will be based on superior, regionally sourced products, prepared with precision and contemporary techniques. The main product is the
Most of the dishes served here reminded me of something I had eaten elsewhere, the difference being that they were more fine-tuned here; Jacobs demonstrates how good ideas can be refined to unexpected heights. Excellent selection of wines by the glass (thanks to Coravin), attentive and very competent service. I was there on a Thursday evening, which afforded the added pleasure of live piano music in the background. Impressive river views.

The place is nice and the food & wine were good. It could have been perfect, if the waiters would not have completely forgotten me. They simply never came to ask if I would like something more after my dish... though I understand that during rush time, one has to wait a little bit... after almost one hour I left... specially for solo travellers that's not a nice feeling.

Polite and friendly waiter, but that's not enough for a pretended "higher level Italian restaurant":We've ordered fish and a gnocchi-meal:The fish was definitly not freshly caught what you could realise in taste and specially in smell. Don't get me wrong: the fish wasn't spoiled, but not real fresh. Gnocchi obviously have been factory made. Edible, but unacceptable at this completely exorbitant price. These things are a "no-go" to a restaurant having such a demand on its outward claim. It seems that they earn their money mostly by their regular guests, who presumably praise the kitchen enthusiastically here, too.It is not easy to have to pay so much money at an Italian restaurant for this kind of mediocrity. This even cannot be compensated by a familiar atmosphere and friendly, but not very attentive service. Maybe you have to become a regular guest first to change this?Sorry, but this was an experience that we don't need here a second time.

This was probably the best dinner I ever had. I had seen many highly decorated places, but never before have the expectations been exceeded lit at Seven Seas. I won't write about the food, s it was just for a different world in all aspects.Service was extremly attentive and friendly.Except for one bottle, we did leave the selection of the wines to the sommelier and have been extremly happy with his choices.

Casual Fine Dining. Eating until midnight ! uncomplicated , seasonal , high-quality prepared food until midnight . A wine list with selected wines from different countries and regions .
We hopped in a cab frustrated at not being able to find a restaurant, asking the cabbie to take us to a good restaurant district. We drove for a few minutes and he stopped right outside this tiny frontage that looked nothing like a restaurant strip.âThat is the place you wantâ, he said.We couldnât read the German menu at the front, but we decided to venture in.Amazing! The part owner served us and the wine list was one of the best I have enjoyed in a long time. The food was first class flavour and taste bud enjoyment. You can walk in here and get a fine dining experience at midnight if you wanted. The owner was a fun guy, great sense of humour, and his passion for the customer experience really shone through. The 3 of us ordered different meals and rated each one highly. If you believe in something and hold that conviction, you will not fail, and Heldenplatz proved that again for me.Itâs not whatâs on the plate, but how they dance together, that makes a great meal. This place has all the moves.

Kleines 25 Platze Restaurant mit regionaler Kuche und kleinen Ausfluegen ins Internationale. Lubzer Bier vom Fass
I had a really enjoyable meal at Sagners Bistro while in Hamburg visiting the Christmas markets. Pumpkin soup to start was delicious, very flavorsome and well made, served with some bread.Mains were just wonderful, pork selection was enormous, 3 kinds of pork served with chipped potatoes and salad, goose was perfectly cooked and great to have something different. Portions were a little on the large size but we did our best to finish the plates.Wine list was good or you could order wine by the jug.Service was outstanding, the lady owner was very hospitable and welcoming. Donât let the location put you off and do come hungry as you will leave full , very full !!

CLOSED FOR HOLIDAY: 13th bis 29th Juli 2019 Back on 30th Juli!
Four of us dined here based upon reading the TA reviews. The menu is quite limited which is an observation, not a criticism. On a plus point, the service is excellent and cannot be faulted. The homemade breads were a nice touch. The complementary amuse bouche of serano ham and melon with a broken bread stick was a bit disappointing. My chosen meal though.... it was average at best! I selected the fish soup with the large crouton and rouille (â¬9.5) - it was possibly the worst fish soup I have ever eaten. Very watery, more like a broth, and literally didnât have any chunks of fish in it. This is usually my favourite starter and one that I usually always pick at french bistros. My main course was the whole sea bream with pea risotto (â¬26.5). As the menu said, it was a whole unfilleted grilled bream served with a side bowl of risotto and a few dressed leaves. I naively thought it might have been fillets laid on top of a risotto bed. It was okay, nothing special though. The 3 rating is because the other guests did enjoy their meals, otherwise it would have been lower from my perspective. I just didnât think the food was good enough so wouldnât recommend or return here.

My expectation was very high since I knew already this restaurant from a visit back in 2017.Everything went very smooth through the small menu until the meat.I did mention to the sommeiler that I wanted a glas of red with the meat coirse and he completely forgot. Once the meat was on the table I did not solicit the red wine since I would have eaten cold meat. In a 2* restaurant this should not happy. After that, service has been slowing down and a series of mistake have been done. The 3 waiters in charge of our table disappeared for a long time, the impression was that there was a party going on in the kitchen.Ordered an espresso and did not receive the small patisserie, which btw is for sure always ready. They brought it 10' after I had already finished my espresso.I had to wait 30' and solicit twice to receive the check.I did remember from my last visit that the small leaflet with the dish description should be placed in an apposit envelope and asked for that, the waiters did not do it.Overall over 3 hours and a half for the small menu is way too much.We left with a bitter taste because we felt abandoned. Should not happen in a restaurant where a dinner for 2 costs over 500â¬.Dear guest,Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Haerlin Restaurant.
