We had dinner at Braunhoferâs following a friendâs suggestion. We tried different types of meet (deer, mixed grill, chicken) and their carrotsâ soup, everything was really delicious. First choice Austrian ingredients, traditionally cooked and served with a smile. Make sure to reserve a table before going.

Let yourself be enchanted by the Hotel Stegerbräuâs traditional flair, with a tasty modern twist. Step into these tasteful premises which radiate cosiness and a welcoming atmosphere. The attention to detail underlines the rural-rustic ambience of the vene
Staying locally in a chalet just outside Radstadt and visited this restaurant for dinner one evening. Lovely old hotel/restaurant with typical Austrian atmosphere. The waiter was very friendly and English was no problem as he specifically gave us an English menu. There own stegerbrau beer is very good. I had half a fried chicken with a salad. Plenty of food. The apple strudel was particularly good as a dessert. Value for money was also good as the bill was about 20 euros per head. Well worth a visit.
Ochsenalm is a Hut on the Rittisberg. It is the most westerly of the summer Huts on Rittisberg. The most direct way to Ochsenam is from the P2 car park. P2 is a small car park without that many visitors. It leads to a section of the Rittisbergrundweg. Ochsenalm is part of that rundweg so has its highest appeal for those going the long way round the mountain.Unlike nearby Rittis'stadl, Ochsenalm is not as far away as the signposts suggest. The route is not especially steep or difficult so can be done even by those pushing a kinderwagen and fully loaded without much difficulty. The route however is not amazingly beautiful. It is largely enclosed by the tall thin mountain evergreens so abundant in the region. There are some ok views but nothing spectacular. The route also dips to get to Ochsenalm itself which means needing to go a little bit uphill after partaking of the Hut.One of the best things about Ochsenalm is its children's play area. It is well designed for kids. There are also a few animals including guinea pigs, goats, and pigs. The view from Ochsenalm itself is the best of the route up though not breathtaking.Ochsenalm looks great though. It is a wooden Hut that looks like it could be an original. The outdoor seating is plentiful. There is a small indoor section. Ochsenalm is surprisingly popular at peak times. The atmosphere is good, bolstered by the local radio station playing traditional tunes. However, the food is not great. It is really nowhere near as tasty as other offerings in the area. It is rare for this traveller not to be able to get through a meal but the more traditional cooking methods here do not equal delicious. Ochsenalm is rustic, it has a good ambience, it looks the part. Unfortunately the food is smokey without the freshness a great rural meal should offer. Even local favourite the apple strudel was a bit grim.Value is not amazing as the portions are much smaller than nearby offerings without proportionate reduction in price. When walking round the Rittisberg there is greatness but Ochsenalm isn't that greatness.

K2 Cafe Restaurant is a small pleasure Restaurant with fresh and light kitchen and an english menu. For Kids we have a Play ground with lot of toys and DVD's. At Weekends we offer B'fast from 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM.
During our stay in St Martin we visited K2 three evenings in a row because it was so delicious! The venue is a cozy gem hidden in this little town! The atmosphere is modern and cozy with black and white photographs on the walls, wine shelves, and comfortable leather armchairs! The staff is friendly and polite, and on the third evening it felt like we were visiting some old friends! We tried the asparagus and parmesan soup, the beef soup, the chicken salad, Wiener schnitzel, cheeseburger, Asian wok, the chicken wrap, risotto with asparagus and fish, as well as the three sorbets! Kudos to the risotto! The best I have eaten not to mention that my partner ate half of it and he ears neither asparagus nor fish. Apparently, he eats them when they are that tasty! I can't wait to go back to K2!!!Greetings to the waiters and the chefs!

This place saved the day. After arriving late at out hotel (9pm???) and being told no dinner available, it looked like we would go hungry. Then got directed here by a friendly local.Proper Austrian feel to it with half the customers in lederhosen (we think they were all the staff from local hotels and restaurants finishing work), great beer, and decent pizza to boot. They could offer to train the staff at the Wurzer hotel on customer relations. It aint science, but this place gets it right.

This is a few hundred metres from the village centre but certainly worth the beautiful walk. The menu is varied and traditional food of lovely quality. Very reasonable pricing too. Good parking if the walk is too strenuous but care not to miss the signposting on the way up which should not deter you - we have visited for eveniing meal and lunch and both times meals and service were faultless.

My husband and I celebrated our 60th birthday at this quaint restaurant on the mountain. We planned the occasion from our home in South Africa and the evening exceeded our expectations. From the time we were fetched and transported to Sonnenalm we were welcomed as if we were family. Service, incredible food, fun and laughter together with their hospitality made for an evening we will never forget. Each morsel of food was so evidently lovingly prepared and presented. Homemade schnapps, handcrafted puzzle type games, chatting to the family and traditional music added to the magic of the evening. From the bottom of our hearts thank you for everything. We will dream of the day we can return.

The restaurant can be reached by either horse carridges, which can be booked in the village at 'Fiakerhof', by footwalk (approximately 100 minutes) or by taxi. The air is fresh and healthy, herds of deers and chamois live in their natural habbitat and can be observed at the edges of the forrest on the way or at the opening of the steep slopes. The restaurant is the upper of the two which lie at the foot of a mountain chain that ends right at the destination. It boasts a terrace wich invites to enjoy the beautiful view and take a sunbath as well as a playground for children. Inside, the interior consists of traditional handcrafts which also relate to hunting and landscape pictures. An open fire place warms nicely and rounds up the warm and comfortable atmosphere. We had deer and fish which both tasted great. Service was helpful and attentive.

Maestosa Johanna Maier celebrates in the tiny world of a village in Pongau at 1,000 meters altitude the great, grand world of high cuisine.
This place has such a "ruf" or reputation that I simply had to try it, the restaurant itself is beautiful, classy and stylish. The service is excellent if a bit pretentious. The food for the most part lacked that certain something, and I have eaten a number of the best restaurants in Austria, not to mention elsewhere. There is also no set wine accompaniment so you end up paying a small fortune when you have had your aperitif and wine with each course. If I pay a small fortune I expect the best, sadly, this was not the case, my husband was of like mind. There was just something missing, taste wise. otherwise it was lovely.

The Oberhofalm is at the top of the scenic road from Filzmoos. You are surrounded by rocky peaks. You can get up, even in winter, by car (with great snow tires), by horse drawn carriage, or on foot. We walked and the hike made us ready to eat! The food is wonderful, especially the grilled sausage plate with smashed potatoes and sauerkraut. It was busy when we arrived but quieted by the time we were finished. I only put 4 stars because our server (who is one of the owners) didn't seem all that interested nor attentive. The food was great as were the drinks (hot chocolate with rum and an after-meal schnapps).
