The population of the town was 8,279 according to the 2011 Croatian census, including 1,473 in the titular settlement. Ninety percent of the population declared themselves Croats by ethnicity. The largest ethnic minority are the Serbs with 2.91% of the population. The old part of Bakar is situated on a hill overlooking the Bay of Bakar. "Bakar" is the Croatian word for copper.

We wanted to have a meal looking out on the harbor There is very little that is not either just a bar or a hamburger and fries place. Gardens is a good quality restaurant with wine, beer and cocktails. Our waiter was wonderful. He went out of his way to select Croatian wines for us, then later came back with the local alcohol for us to try. I wish I had your name, I'm sorry, you were great.

I didn't really go to this place before cause i saw the bad reviews with everyone mentioning bad food, long waiting time and s***ty waiters. Yesterday i decided to give it a try and i didn't regret it. The food was good, the waiters were super polite and professional. We needed to wait a bit to get the food, but thats normal. I mean if u don't have 1h to waste on dinner just go get a sandwich or mcdonalds, right? It's a good place to go eat and i'm really sad i didn't give them a chance till now. Deserves to be in the top 10 imo.

Famous bar-pizzeria in the center of Rijeka. Located in the old shelter bunker on the coast, just few meters from the sea. We offer drinks of various kind, and delicious pizzas, sea food and the only one in town - sushi.

I visited this place with my friends to relax from the trip and driving all day. We ordered coffee, which somehow tasted salty, and some juice. At first it seemed as a pleasant atmosphere, but boy, were we wrong! The waiter (hairless one, with glasses, I think the shift manager) started obnoxiously yelling at some guests for parking, while they were leaving. Not a minute after, he continued to angrily walk from table to table asking us, the guests, if the red jeep parked is ours. Not only did he interrupt our conversation, he also made the overall experience very unpleasant, alongside the coffee. The cherry on top was definitely when I tried to pay with credit card and he yelled at me that we should have told him that before ordering. It was my breaking point and while I continued to explain him that I am not responsible for notifiying him about my preffered payment method in advance, but it's rather his job to ask about it, he argued with me, loudly and furiously. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this place, since it clearly doesn't value its guests. Be clever, put your money and time somewhere where you'll actually enjoy being. This is my first and last time here.

Excellent food and home made cuisine, local specialities, very friendly staff. The place is very popular during early brunch and lunch time, so mostly all the tables are occupied and count to wait for a free table during that busy period. It's worth waiting because portions are plentiful and very tasty. Big terrace outside during summer time.Huge parking lot accommodates all cars just few steps from the venue.

Nice atmosphere with interior made in stone, and also outdoor part with the parking. Barbecue was good, well made, although nothing extra special. The best part was actually the rice - one of the best I ate in my life (both clean rice and a version with the (just a bit) piquant sauce).

Amazing food and great service.After an amazing dinner the staff helped us get a taxi and while waiting gave us some great local digestives. They even gave us an adres on where to buy this local delicacy. This is what you expact from a good restaurant, highly recomended!! :)

Was recommended this restaurant and it didn't disappoint. Had the fuzi with truffles and they were delicious. Excellent service. The restaurant is in a suburban area, follow the signs from Trsat, it takes about 10 minutes to walk from the bus terminus, or the castle and church. Well worth the walk if you haven't got a car.

Home made pasta, steaks and on occasion horse steaks on offer, including seasonal ingredients (i.e. asparagus or truffles) make the menu, in generous quantities.This place changes very little over time which is good. Ambient is really minimalistic and always quite packed with locals.Do not expect a Michelin or JRE contender but a meal that will fill the need.
