Find out what Central European restaurants to try in Baden. Also known as Baden bei Wien (Baden near Vienna), this spa town is chosen by those looking for a little bit of relaxation. The origin of the city goes back to the Romans who were the first to enjoy Baden’s sulphurous mineral springs. Later, Baden became a favorite of Austrian emperors who would come from Vienna (26 km) to enjoy a bath in hot waters. Today, visitors fall in love with the many historic buildings, monuments and picnic areas in beautiful parks around the city. Connoisseurs of classical music can follow in the footsteps of Baden’s most famous visitor, Ludwig van Beethoven, who visited Baden numerous times.

I experienced friendly staff, good wines and good food, a very nice Gastgarten prividing real Heurigen atmosphere. The menu has a good mix of dishes with meat, but also vegan meals are available, so typically everybody will find something to eat. I go there from time to time and I never got disappointed, that is why I recommend this place for others.

Just returned from a lovely evening at this restaurant. My starter of "Leberknoedel Suppe" was really delicious, the clear broth had a good flavour and the liver dumpling was perfectly seasoned and light. My main course was "Zwiebelrostbraten", the slightly pink beef steak very tender and just melted in your mouth and the onions very light and crisp. It was the best I ever had in Austria. The wines are also superb, good selection and most are from the family vineyard. If you are staying in or near Vienna, this place is worth a visit for traditional austrian food and other dishes. My husbands linguini with large prawns, scallops in tomato sauce were also superb. There is a lovely garden for eating and you could also arrange for a wine tasting on the premises.

This is a good choice if you pass or stay in Baden.Family restaurant with smoking and non smoking part inside and a terrace in front. The atmosphere is good - like in a big living room - people are talking, playing cards, drinking beer or local wine and enjoy domestic food.Wiener snitzel, potato salad, sausages etc.The prices are also very good, so you do not have to worry about your budget.Everbody is friendly and helpful. When we were there it was crowded so maybe you should make a reservation if you go in a bigger group.

The food is amazing, people there are very friendly! As we use Elfy's as the only B&B in Baden, for every visit we make, Edelsberger is the place we always go for a late dinner!

We stayed in Baden for two nights and very glad to find this very pleasant establishment open on a Monday night. It is clearly popular with locals but the owner made us feel very comfortable from the moment we arrived. Excellent salad buffet to enjoy while you wait for your food. Very good local wine selection served with knowledge and care. Typical large portions which we could not finish but we still found room for their home made strudel. Recommended.

The cafe is very centrally located. A good place to people watch, even in winter. Average Austria price. In addition to coffee and sweets, a good place to have some small and cheap lunch. The service style is very much Viennese style, very efficient and effective, but don't expect a smile. Ok, maybe it's just a little warmer than in Vienna. This is a holiday town after all.
