Things to do in San Ramon
La comida es muy rica y es bastante, la atención es super buena. No tiene parqueo, hay que dejar el carro en la calle.
El Sendero Restaurant - At 1200 meters above sea level, the cool tropical cloud forest mist is ideal for delicious homemade soups and fresh garden salads made with local hearts of palm and avocado, local farm dairy cheeses and tangy salad dressings spiced
We loved our stay at Villa Blanca but the restaurant was all over the map in consistency. The breakfasts were terrific but lunch and dinner really depended on what you ordered. Our first lunch we both ordered soups and hubbies pumpkin soup was great and my chicken soup was sad. One lonely chunk of chicken in a sea of carrots and broth. Dinners were similarly hit and miss. Recommend the fish with plantain crust, salads and chicken sandwich. Skip the pasta (over cooked and gloppy). The waiters are wonderful. Friendly and attentive
Handcrafted popsicle 100% natural. Gluten, egg, quimics free. Vegan and sufra free options. Coffee and Brownie.
This restaurant is around an hour away from La Fortuna downtown. It has a very peaceful environment and the staff was very kind. They offer free wifi service to their customers. There is abundant parking space. If you are visiting Costa Rica I would strongly suggest this restaurant. I believe their strenghts are breakfast and coffee. I even came one night for dinner and it was satisfying as well. One of the main reasons why I am recommending this place is because they have a REAL coffee machine (not a $10 coffee maker, percolator, or a brewstation) The taste of coffee is just magnificent. The portions of food are enough to make you feel full and happy. Finally, they even offer Costa Rica's most popular and traditional beers, sweets and candy. Last but not least, they have a small souvenir shop inside the restaurant. Give it a try. It won't disappoint. It is an honor for La Casona MÃa to know that you liked our service and we appreciate your opinion

This tiny soda sits at the north end of a group of three sodas a few kilometers north of that ubiquitous tourist dive Mi Rancho, If you want to try typical Costa Rican food that doesn't make you say "so what?", this is the place. It's a clean, tidy, and above all else cheerful place tended by six or so Ticas who work behind the counter and on the floor. Although it is on the tourist route to Arenal the clientele are almost exclusively Tico and local. I was told about Soda Diana by a gringa friend, but I have never seen another gringo there. The food is the normal Costa Rican soda fare, but raised to a very high level. My first meal there consisted of gallo pinto, fried sweet plantains, tongue in salsa, and lovely cafe con leche. The bill was 2,200 colones, or a hair over four dollars. The casado with pork chop, many sides, and passion fruit in water ran 3,500 and I could barely finish it. They change up dishes on a daily basis, so you need not eat the same meal twice in a row. I almost forgot that the tortillas are made fresh on the spot to meet demand. They are patted out by hand and cooked on a hot pan before your eyes, by a woman who works with incredible efficiency while maintaining a steady banter with her fellow workers and customers alike.Sadly, this place has meant the almost complete cessation of my cooking at home.

Great place to stop for a meal between San Jose and La Fortuna. The chicharrones are very good and the steak is tasty as well. The mashed potatoes are outstanding and the vegetable sides were fresh. The chicken papagallo is a unique dish with a large portion of breaded chicken topped with a tasty sauce and cheese. Our service was attentive. Artisan beers in addition to the more traditional Costa Rican beers are also served.
Chicken Wings Restaurant
This place offers the best chicken wings w/ sauce of the region. I really like the way they are done, because there is a variety of sauce options, for all tastes (from sweet to spicy). And then, you can get an ice cream, if you are in for a desert. Finally, it is cheaper than lots of options that only gives you small chicken wings.

Soda in San Ramon, Costa Rica
We've been here multiple times. This is a smaller restaurant with modest furniture and surroundings; a casual place in a smaller town, central Costa Rica. We have never been disappointed in whatever we've ordered. This is not a gourmet place by any means but still great taste for the price.

Travelling from San Jose to Arenal we stopped for lunch here. We choose it because it didn't have a tour bus outside although there was several cars. We were made very welcome. Simple menu and I choose the chicken fajitas which was very good although not spicy (this is Costa Rica!) Very tasty though.Would recommend

So we decided to leave La Fortuna a little early due to the heavy downpour and the probability of heavier traffic but didn't consider that we had no idea that we would be ready to eat by the time we reached San Ramon. As luck would have it, we saw that several others had apparently been in a similar situation and we decided to stop and give Chepes a try.We drove by without stopping the first time because it looked closed. Thankfully, we went around the block and this time we got out to check - turns out the restaurant was open but because they didn't have any customers, they had turned the lights out!Glad we stopped because this ended up being one of our favorite meals from the trip. We had a farm burger, chicken caprese and a cajun shrimp dish. All cooked to perfection with just the right amount of spice. Our server was very helpful and her suggestions were perfect! Super clean dining room and restrooms and the prices are very reasonable! We'll stop in San Ramon for Chepes again!
