Includes the grave of Howard Hughes
I did not expect such a beautiful and serene cemetery in the middle of Houston. We parked and walked around for about an hour. My 4-year-old really enjoyed looking at all of the mausoleums and angel statues. We enjoyed reading the historical plaques that are scattered throughout the cemetery. There are excellent views of downtown and the large trees provide great shade.

Just another reason for touring and learning of the rich Traditions of Texas A & M. Learning of the history of Reveille from the stray dog that showed up years and years ago to todays pure breed...just another wonderful way to celebrate the Cadet Core....Gig'em

A chamber of Commerce guide from Schulenburg will have the keys to unlock the sanctuary. The interior of this painted church is a must see! Stained glass, the altar, altar pieces left and right of the altar, so beautiful. Artisans rarely exist today that can produce this quality of art and detail. The parish house behind the church is actually older. Walk back to see, enjoy an old barn there too. The cemetery next to this church is worth a walk through too. Enjoy!

I spend time here every Sunday morning visiting my husband. It is so peaceful and beautiful; it’s comforting to just be able to sit and visit. The cemetery is very well kept; the entire staff does a wonderful job.

Some of Texas' most prominent historical figures are buried in this cemetery.
I cannot believe I've been a Texan all my life and haven't been there until now. This place is amazing. It's a wonderful and peaceful cemetery which is a resting place for notable Texans from the 1800s right up to present day. You will be shocked and humbled to see the graves of governors, pioneers, soldiers, artists and athletes. So many famous names, so little time. Make the time to visit this place! I left feeling inspired to dig deeper into Texas history.
