to try a local place upon arrival to Santa Marta.Restaurante Welcome definitely provides a local flavor to any visit. We were warmly greeted provided a menu and drinks quickly arrived.Had some great seafood and the fish soup was good.As others have stated the picture provided for the listing is not the dining area of this restaurant. Dining area is much more basic.Manager/owner is very welcoming and made great recommendations.

We were biking by and saw a board outside, advertising a reasonably priced lunch. We skidded to a stop and entered a comfortably cool and interesting decorated place with a varied menu. My husband had the fish filet with pesto and I had a delicious goulash with roasted herbed veggies and potatoes. Then we went all out and had a huge, just baked, chocolate cookie, topped with vanilla ice cream. The chef spoke to us a few times to make sure everything was okay. He also poured my coffee and warm milk into a tiny, contemporary cup. I highly recommend this hideaway and look forward to eating there again soon!we had the pleasure of serving you.

Confort Food from Santa Marta. The recipes that we use at our restaurant reflect the old days when people used to cook slowly and hand selected fresh ingredients. Try our "Arroz de Cerdo" rice with pork that is cooked using similar techniques as risotto.
As a tourist I really wanted to experience something local. A friend had recommended this spot; newly opened and meeting rave reviews. Josefina's really impressed. We picked up lunch on the go and actually returned at the end of our stay to grab a bite on our way out of town. Well worth the visit and will definitely return next time I'm in town.

We celebrated our 10th anniversary at Burukuka. They seated us on the edge of the patio as requested in my reservation, and promptly brought us a bottle of Veuve Clicquot at a reasonable price. Our reservations were at 5:30, which allowed us to watch a perfect sunset. The food was fairly good: tropical chicken, plantains with guac and sour cream, but relatively pricey compared to other Rodadero restaurants, but still reasonable considering the atmosphere and sunset view of Rodadero. Service was also good, but not quite as expected for the price and occasion that they were aware of. The biggest disappointment was the amount of litter visible on the hillside that the restaurants sits on. It would only take a few hours to tie off some ropes and lower someone down to collect the trash. It's not quite a cliff, so it's doable, and the results would be a drastic improvement. They are most popular after the sun goes down as they bring in a DJ and the patio tables are cleared for dancing. It's worth the visit for the photo opp alone.

Mediterranean cuisine fused with the Colombian Caribbean
Nice enough place .. super busy which is always a good sign.. food was nice .. but so special that I would return for round 2. Peeking into the kitchen - the cooks seemed to be working with care + precision which is nice to see from ones table .. but the food was really rather simple ... in a high end way. Thanks a lot for your visit. We hope see you again at the 2nd round! :)Best Regards,Sebastian
