Typical sports bar/pub food and atmosphere. We ordered the lamb stroganoff because it was the special of the day and sounded interesting as well as the Julienne salad and a bowl of soup. The soup arrived first as requested and was delicious. The mains arrived shortly afterwards and were both large, delicious, and the temperature they were supposed to be. We had enough for a take-away box. Prices were reasonable for the amount of food received. We basically had two servers and had all the attention we needed. Not too overpowering but attentive. The decor could do with a bit of sprucing up, but that was just a minor observation. It seemed that they were in the middle of remodelling the ladies washroom. It was noisy in the bar section, but the restaurant was large enough that you could get away from some of the noise. T.V.s everywhere so you didn't need to miss anything sports related. All in all, a good experience if you want to go to a sports bar and nothing fancier. We will be back!

We came across this place quite serendipitously, having left the 401 at Port Hope looking for a good lunch. We certainly found it at Basil's. The home-made roasted tomato soup is excellent; so is the Reuben sandwich. My wife loved her BLT salad. The coffee is very good. All in all this deli was a very pleasant surprise! The prices may seem to be on the high side to people used to eating at fast-food joints, but no one should expect to get superior food for cut-rate prices.

Family meals at a dining table full of delicious comfort food was the inspiration behind Ganarascals. The family kitchen was where chef Mathew learned the art of cooking, and the way in which food can bring people together. When it came time to opening hi
This is a wonderful little gem in Port Hope. The weekend eggs bennie never disappoints. I eat there regularly & recommend it to everyone! The only thing that really gets under my skin in this place is their reliance on single use plastic. For a place where the coffee is flowing & refills are a plenty, I can't understand why they don't just use refillable milk jugs rather than hundreds of those tiny UHT containers. Please stop with the plastic. In a place where the only gripe is about process rather than service or food, you know it's a good spot!

Diverse menu of delicious dishes, ranging from Thai Steak Salad to Prime Rib Dinner. Comfortable seating, attractive decor, massive 100+ inch TV. Twelve beer taps. Large second floor lounge suitable for private events.
I have been visiting Port Hope annually for over 30 years and we always try a new dinner restaurant each year. This year was Nookie's and our experience was wonderful. We made a reservation a few days ahead of time and a nice booth was waiting for us when we arrived. The restaurant is easy to find and there is free nearby parking. We had nice cocktails to start and then enjoyed the Butternut Squash Ravioli and the Steak and Lobster Tail Friday Special. My husband loved his ravioli and recommends it highly. My Steak and Lobster Tail was perfectly prepared and more food than I could eat. The steak was advertised as 8 oz, but was larger, maybe 10 oz. The lobster tail was tender sweet and larger than expected also. It came with mashed potatoes and veggies. I passed on the potatoes due to an allergy and received an abundance of fresh green beans, carrots, broccoli and cauliflower. It was very very good and only cost $20!! The atmosphere is nice and was not too loud. The rib dinners served to nearby tables looked delicious. I fully recommend Nookie's for a delicious pleasant meal.

We booked a table online for our wedding anniversary dinner, When we arrived at the restaurant they had no record of the booking even though I had an email confirmation. However, it wasn't busy and we got a table. The menu is quite varied and our choices of Lemon Haddock & shrimp stir-fry were absolutely delicious. The serving staff were attentive and the desserts were yummy! We will be back.

We had a wonderful experience today. I know how crazy Motherâs Day is in the restaurant business since we operated one for 23 years. It is THE busiest day of the entire year. The Carlyle handled it perfectly. It started with a warm welcome and five star service. The ambiance is perfect and everyone was delighted with their menu choice. I have not visited for a few years, certainly not since the change in ownership/management but I will be back in the very near future for dinner. Well done all,

The Social Bar + Table is a locally sourced farm to table restaurant in Port Hope, ON! We are proud members of the Feast ON family and work hard every day to live up to those standards. We support local farmers, always fresh, every day. What's on tap? Cra
We make the trip from Dundas to Belleville often, and it's a lovely break to stop for lunch along the way. The Social Bar & Table was our most recent FABULOUS FIND!Service was so friendly, the atmosphere was casual, the menu was interesting, and our choices were tasty. What more could you ask for? My gluten-free partner had the power bowl - quite filling and delightful. I had the fish tacos - just two since it's an appetizer, so the server suggested the soup of the day. The actual bowl of soup (our neighbour had) looked too big as an add-on, but they were willing to give me a smaller portion (at a smaller price, of course). It was tasty and fit the bill perfectly. We enjoyed the break in our drive, a wonderful lunch, and a refreshing spot to have a conversation as we made the transition into the long weekend. The wine and craft beer selections were plentiful. I appreciated that they even had two ciders on tap. AND -there's liquor store across the street. We could pick up some wine in the same stop and be back on the road in no time.We will most definitely be back.

Located in the historic Waddell Hotel, Gusto is the perfect location for a romantic evening, intimate family gathering or business event. First rate service combined with exquisite cuisine in a beautiful historic setting.
Stopped there today on our way to Kingston, as is our usual routine. Has always been great in the past, but not today. My husband ordered the daily special, which was pasta primavera...very dry and boring.I ordered carpaccio, which was also very dry. Should have been drizzled with olive oil, and some fresh lemon on the side would have been nice. And our server Laura was not rude by any means, but very indifferent...A very disappointing visit!

Ordered the Jim's combination pizza for pick up, and was very surprised at how delicious it was! The restaurant itself is very small, but the staff were extremely friendly and the pizza was fantastic. it was the best pizza I've had in a while. Will order from Jim's again.

We were very happy with our selections. The sweet potato fries were crispy on the outside, tender on the inside and very hot. The chipotle dipping sauce was excellent too. Our burgers were juicy and flavourful. The peppercorn beef patty of the Ares was lightly seasoned with pepper..just right. My husband enjoyed his Dionysus build-your-own burger with his choice of toppings. Their milkshakes are thick and creamy, just the way you would want a milkshake to be. Yum, yum!
