Cozy enough and the pizza is simply the best in Kitimat. I just wish they offered better selection of dark beer. Kronenbourg on tap would be totally complete this.

More like a bar then a bistro. Employees were definitely having a drink behind the bar. Waitress seemed very dazed and confused. Every single employee went outside for a break and left us inside alone. We had to get up and go find someone so we could pay and leave. Service a strong 0/10I would like to further discuss your visit if youâd be willing to give me more details about the time and day that you came to our restaurant, this sounds very unlike our staff as we do not allow this behaviour within our establishment. If youâd kindly respond and we can further discuss you can reach us at the Bistro by email - [email protected]
The Kitimat Dairy Queen serves up what youâd expect of this franchise: cool treats, burgers, fries, chicken strips, and a few other âhot eatâ items. In short, this location is your typical DQ â no surprises. That said, I ventured to this unit following a decent repast at MOMâs Cuisine in the City Centre Mall. It made sense to me: After dining on some chicken and chips, why not cool the palate with a delicious cool treat? When I entered the establishment I couldnât help but notice how empty it was. During my visit, there was literally just one other person inside, less staff. It was almost eerie to see a DQ so empty. On the plus side, I suppose the lack of traffic ensured that the premises were clean and well-maintained. Staff were also efficient in taking my order (a peanut buster parfait). And how was my cool treat? Well, it was vintage Dairy Queen; that is to say, it was very good and hit the spot. I appreciate that the staff here seem to know how to execute the menu properly. My peanut buster parfait looked (and tasted) exactly as Iâd expect: Mounds of creamy smooth DQ soft serve, a nice ratio of peanuts and velvety hot fudge layered high in an attractive way and manner. Fantastic!FOOD: 4/5SERVICE: 4/5VALUE: 5/5RECOMMENDATION: A staple in Canada since 1953, Dairy Queen has delighted the young and old with its delectable treats for well over 60 years in this country. And, really, itâs no surprise theyâve lasted as long as they have. When you have a product thatâs been tested and subsequently beloved by so many, the demand will always be there. The Kitimat location maintains many of the franchiseâs principles high and this is reflected in the quality of the treats. Indeed, they treat you right. Highly recommended!PS: If you found this review helpful in any way please consider hitting the "helpful" sign!
Can't go wrong at Kitimat Subway...well unless you're the customer. I tried the butter chicken sub, and made the mistake of forgetting that sometimes less is more. Went a little crazy with the fixings, which buried the taste of the butter chicken, which the little I got was flavorful. So hopefully I will get a chance to try it again without so many extras I mistakely added. The soup was pretty good too.

Youâll forgive me if, when I see a restaurant with the name âPedroâs,â I automatically assume it specializes in Mexican cuisine. Indeed, this was my initial thought as I happened upon this eateryâs rear entrance (just behind the local DQ). Thus, when I entered, you can understand my surprise to learn that Pedroâs isnât Mexican at all â far from it. Instead, theyâre basically a âfamily restaurantâ that happens to specialize in chicken . . . Chesterâs Fried chicken, to be exact.Cuisine confusion notwithstanding, I can say that Pedroâs is, in my humble opinion, one of the better eateries in Kitimat. So much so, in fact, that it represented only one of 3 establishments that I bothered returning to in 2019 after a 10-month absence. What can I say, the chicken is just that damn good. And on that note, I probably should explain something. Pedroâs doesnât just serve your ordinary fried chicken. As noted above, they proudly serve âChesterâs Fried.â And in case you missed that point, donât worry because itâs plastered all over the main entrance, the walls and even in the menu. Seeing the âChesterâsâ logo all over the place, when I first visited this restaurant in 2018, made me feel like I should know something about the brand. Thank goodness for Google. A quick search revealed to me that Chesterâs Fried Chicken traces its origins to Alabama in 1952 when a man named WO Giles started the Chesterâs business, originally frying donuts. The fried chicken started in the mid-1960s and franchising only began fairly recently, in 2004. What makes Chesterâs fried chicken stand out from all the rest â KFC, Churchâs â is the âsecret family recipe and the process of double breading each piece of chicken to ensure a crispy outside and a tender, moist inside.â Sure, thatâs what the propaganda material says, but I can attest to its accuracy 100%. The fried chicken and accompanying scojos at Pedroâs is bar-none some of the best Iâve had. Itâs made fresh to order and makes use of the Chesterâs brand and process. The end result? Chicken that blows its nearest competitor out of the water. It really does make me wish there were more of these franchises around the Province.Besides chicken, Pedroâs, as I said, is basically a family style restaurant. Thus, you can get things like burgers, sandwiches, salads, fish & chips and even Wonton soup. On my most recent visit, along with a couple pieces of chicken, I decided to try their deep-fried cod. On the menu it is humbly described as âthe best fish & chipsâ and is served with âfranch fries.â Hilarious menu typos aside, I have to be honest. Much like Rosarioâs (who describe their halibut & chips as the best âin the northâ), the fish at Pedroâs was FAR from the best; in fact, it was pretty average overall BUT I will say one thing about it . . . at least it was better than the aforementioned restaurant.During each of my visits, service was both very prompt and friendly. I get the sense that the servers who work here must get bored â at least during the afternoon hours. Each time, almost without fail, theyâve engaged me in long conversations when Iâve gone to satisfy my bill. Last year when I visited, the server talked on and on about how Kitimat used to be so much busier when LNG was being talked about and that âmaybe it will start again.â Ten months later, I got much the same thing, only the tone was a bit more hopeful, so yay!FOOD: 4/5SERVICE: 4/5VALUE: 4/5RECOMMENDATION: As Iâve noted elsewhere, Kitimat isnât exactly a hotbed for fine cuisine. Heck, it isnât even really a hotbed for decent cuisine; however, Pedroâs is an exception to that rule. Sure, their alleged âbestâ fish & chips is nothing special, but most people donât come here for that â they come for the chicken. And the chicken is damn good. I know people from Prince Rupert will drive to Terrace for KFC and I think thatâs kind of funny. Sort of along the same vein, I wouldnât be at all surprised if people from Terrace drove to Kitimat for the chicken at Pedroâs â now that I could fully understand.PS: If you found this review helpful in any way please consider hitting the "helpful" button!

Spent some time learning to curl with our hockey team one day. Everyone was patient and helpful. The buffet lunch was delicious! There were many places to just sit and watch, or visit with friends. Thereâs also a full service bar and restaurant. We felt very welcome and had a great time.

A friends birthday dinner. It was quiet and not busy. Four of us enjoyed the atmosphere and the whole restaurant to ourselves. My chicken cordon blue was very dry but my veggies were good. Everyone elseâs dinner was really good. As there arenât many places to eat in Kitimat we will return.

The industrial area of Kitimat isnât exactly the sort of place youâd expect to find anything even remotely close to fine dining. With its repair shops, storage areas and the like, this part of town seems more appropriate for something quick like Chinese food, and youâll certainly find that â 2 of them, in fact â in this area. And, hey, theyâre both pretty decent . . . far better than anything else in nearby Terrace. But if you move just a few steps further beyond Fortune Kitchen youâll stumble across Corâs which, in my opinion, is the true hidden gem not only of the industrial/service area, but of Kitimat generally. What many other reviewers have said is true. From the outside, Corâs looks quite unremarkable. In fact, because the blinds are seemingly always pulled down, it doesnât look like its open . . . ever. During my culinary tour of Kitimat I was even beginning to wonder if maybe Corâs had quietly closed down. Iâd stopped by twice during their âopenâ hours only to find the door locked. On a third attempt (after seeing a man go in â Cor himself), I learned that the restaurant is technically open but reservations are required. Okay, then. I subsequently made reservations for a birthday celebration. When I arrived back at Corâs for our dinner reservation a couple weeks later with the grandparents, they made the same observation that everybody else seems to make: âIs it open? It looks closed.â Indeed, having the blinds down all the time doesnât really make for the most inviting of appearances! In any event, we entered the restaurant and Cor seated us at a nice table. And hereâs where I noticed yet another truism of earlier reviews: The interiors are indeed dated. If you didnât know any better, youâd think youâd entered a time warp to the early 1980s. The restaurant is dimly lit; the table covers with a glass sheets over top look old; the chairs are of an older stock (in fact, they remind me of some I used to see in BINGO halls in the 1980s); and small plants populate many parts of the restaurant. The space certainly isnât the most modern, but thatâs not the point. People come here for the food and the relaxing ambiance of the physical space. The menu at Corâs is quite impressive, especially when you consider that it is literally a one-man show. Cor does all of the cooking and serving by himself. Despite that, the menu isnât overly simplistic; rather, it carries with it a good mix of local and European â especially French â influences. The end result is a comprehensive carte du jour unlike anything else available in Kitimat. We ended up ordering a number of appetizers: The âflambéed prawn cocktail,â âRamsayâs Barbequed scallopsâ and the âwild mushroom soup.â Of the three, I felt the prawn cocktail and mushroom soup were the most successful. In terms of the prawn dish, the presentation was simple yet elegant and visually appealing. The creamy texture of the feta cheese, the light crunch of the peppers and the natural flavours of the shrimp all played well together. Likewise, the mushroom soup was earthy and creamy. The scallops, while cooked nicely, were overpowered by spices and thus their natural flavours were all but lost.Everybody in our party enjoyed our mains: I ordered the coffee crusted steak (the dayâs special); my grandparents ordered the filet mignon; and my aunt opted for the hoisin pork tenderloin. Overall, I enjoyed the coffee crusted steak â the flavours infused by the coffee rub were quite nice; however, the accompanying âcrown of onionsâ were a bit much and kind of took away from the dish. My grandparents very much enjoyed their filet mignon â it was cooked exactly to their liking. From the small portion I sampled, I was left wishing Iâd ordered the same thing because not only was the filet tender, but the âred wine brown sauceâ underscored, rather than detracted from, the meat itself. Likewise, my aunt very much enjoyed her hoisin pork tenderloin, which was served with Asian noodles. It was a unique twist on what would otherwise have been a standard dish! To complete our repast, we shared a couple of desserts â the apple crumble and chocolate pate â both of which were delicious and the perfect way to conclude a very nice birthday dinner.I should mention, as well, that Cor himself checked on us throughout our meal to ensure everything was to our liking. He was very personable and made us feel like weâd entered his home rather than a restaurant. We very much appreciated the hands-on service.FOOD: 4/5SERVICE: 5/5VALUE: 4/5RECOMMENDATION: Despite outward appearances, Corâs is probably the best overall eatery for dinner in Kitimat. The menu is elevated and unique; the service is personable and very friendly; and, best of all, the food in terms of both taste and quality is exceptional. If you want a good night out, be it in Kitimat or even Terrace, come to Corâs. Just remember that reservations are required. Highly recommended! No fancy frills, no stuffed shirt attitude. Just real people and great food. Everything you want in a steakhouse - only casual.
The service here is fantastic. The kitchen, depending on the night/food preps/chef, varies considerably. Severe onion allergy. Asked if the appetizer dip had onions in it, explained why I was asking, server durly checked and said it could be made without. It was served loaded with chopped green onion both on top and filling the dip to overflowing. Not charged for it though.Another time, asked for a side of sauteed mushrooms: they came almost burnt to a crisp and dried out but it was immediately replaced.Make sure, if ordering steak, that you stress the degree of rare. Not so great at medium rare to rare. Great at well done. Thanks for your honesty, I'm sorry we haven't been able to give you the quality experience we pride ourselves on consistently. I will share your feedback with our leaders in Kitimat who will coach our team accordingly. If you would like to share your contact info with us at [email protected], we'd be happy to follow up with you further.

Grab a tasty bite at Rosario's Restaurant. Located in Kitimat, we serve up favourites like pizza, soup, salad, sandwiches, chicken, past and fresh seafood. Stop by for dine-in or take-out service! We look forward to making your next meal one to remember.
Large selection on the menu and the food is decent. Service was really slow the one lunch hour we went in but once our order was placed the food came within reason!!!! The baked lasagna was okay but I loved the chilli oil edamame beans.
