We frequent the Lake Vu restaurant (at the Co-op gas station) and particularly recommend the walleye dinner and the all-day available hashed-browns with everything, but this was our first Sunday night experience when the long-standing special is prime rib! Roast beef cooked to order, choice of potatoes, steamed veggies, Yorkshire pudding, jus de boeuf and choice of pie for dessert....scrumptious! The only thing that was missing--there was no horseradish sauce. We will definitely come again on a Sunday evening. (I'll pack some horseradish sauce in my purse.)
Inventive, delicious, inspired food with local flair and offers many vegan/vegetarian, gluten friendly options. Breakfast/lunch/take away & catering.
We visited this restaurant for lunch. It exceeded all of our expectations. The food is exceptionally good. We had a smoothie bowl and poke bowls. They were all really tasty - flavorful and prepared with care. Our server was also polite and attentive. We also got several desserts which were also amazing (a cinnamon bun and brownie). This is one of the best restaurants in Kenora and it would stand up very well in our home of Toronto as well. We will be back!

My husband and I visited over the August long weekend. After reading the reviews I was a bit weary as a lot of people have commented on how awful the service is at this restaurant but we decided to give it a shot anyways. The views and the atmosphere were great. We waited at the hostess station for a good 2-3 minutes before the hostess finally walked by and said "have I talked to you guys yet?" We said not yet, and she handed us menus and pointed to a table across the restaurant and said we could take that table.. didn't even walk us over or anything. We sat for over 20 minutes and no one came to our table. We then just got up and left and went someplace else.

Fun excursion on Lake of the Woods. It is a historical landmark in Kenora. I have gone on one of their Jamaican nights, so I cannot comment on their regular food, but the food that night was good. The cost of the excursion and food though can be expensive so it is not something you usually do regularly

Few restaurants are wheel chair accessible in this community but this one is! Huge shout out in that regard alone! The meals and service were fantastic. It was wing night so a popular stop and for good reason. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Plenty of parking and outdoor seating options.

The Papaioannou and Stathopoulos families travelled from mainland Greece to Northwestern Ontario, an odyssey that began in 1961. From the hillsides of ancient Delphi, to the shores of the Gulf of Corinth (famous for its olive oil, lemon orchards and feta
Stopped in for dinner as we were just passing by. Was pleasantly surprised by the service and the food. What more can you ask for in dining out.Seafood pasta was cooked perfectly and generous amount of seafood. The Waleye was to die for. Sorry we ate it all so the picture would be of an empty plate.Although the decor is dated I still recommend it.

Fine casual dining in a heritage building situated on beautiful Main Street Kenora, just a block away from Lake of the Woods. Open since 2009 we serve the most fantastic meals to celebrate the flavors of the North. We are the 'place to eat" in Kenora and
Lunch for two started with very poor service, having to wait a lengthy time for a server to provide menus although the restaurant was not busy at all. The food, when finally served, was terrible...no other word to describe it. Both dishes, the "Cornerstone burger" and "chicken tacos" were among the worst lunch fare we have ever experienced. The burger was bland, overcooked and pretty much tasteless. The fries were over cooked and over salted. Only the ingredients of the chicken tacos were fit to be eaten as the taco shells were not cooked properly (the person ordering these has various tacos regularly at restaurants). Both meals were only partially eaten they were so bad (and we had been hungry). In addition to very poor quality, the food is overpriced even if it had been cooked properly.

Lake of the Woods Brewing company is located in a 100+ year old historic fire hall in down town Kenora, ON. We brew all of our beer onsite with pride and careful attention to detail. The old fire truck bay has been converted into a taproom and eatery with
We took our teenagers out for a late dinner. The restaurant was packed and we were told it could be a 20 minute wait. We gave our cell number and barely 5 minutes later we received a text! The beer batter walleye was delicious as were the homemade chips and side of baked beans. Our boys ordered the chicken fingers and house chips and Caesar salad. Not one of us left a scrap of food on our plates! We also tried the Railway Double Chocolate Porter which was a big hit! The restaurant was busy and full of lively conversations! We had the opportunity to take advantage of sitting outside on a gorgeous fall evening! We filled a growler with the Railway after leaving the restaurant! Highly recommend! We visit this place every September long weekend!Hi Rhonda! That you for the awesome review! We are glad you enjoyed the food and beer (Railyard is soooo good!). See ya next September long!! - Rob

All of our food is made with top quality ingredients and everything from our won-ton chips to our pizza dough and desserts are made fresh right here. Almost all of our dishes can be prepared gluten free and we offer vegan friendly menu items!
Our family decided on a last minute dinner to celebrate a birthday, and are we ever glad we came here! Service was excellent, with just the right amount of attention (thank you, Becca) and the food was savory and satisfying. My family has a wide love of food, from flat breads and pizza (delicious) to zingy jumbalaya and noodle bowls. Such a nice variety on the menu; it was hard to decide so many of us shared. We definately appreciate your accoomodating our larger group on such short notice. My favorite!

What Began As A Simple Diner Has Evolved Into One Of Kenora's Iconic Restaurant. Since 1969, The Adamopoulos Family Has Introduced Kenora And The Lake of the Woods Area To The Mediterranean Diet And The "Greek" Way of Life Through Their Love of Great Food
We were in Kenora on holiday for two nights, and went to the Plaza for two nights in a row for dinner. The food was exceptional. The best Greek food I have had in many years, and better than any of the restaurants on Toronto's Danforth. (We should know, we live there!). The food is exceptional but the staff are wonderful too. They are kind, professional and attentive. This is a magnificent restaurant where every detail is handled with the finest of care. It was, overall, one of the best meals I have had in any city for years. Thank you Plaza restaurant for such a great experience. We will be back!
