Nestled among towering century-old pines at the very edge of Muskoka's sparkling Lake Joseph, Sherwood Inn is a retreat unlike any other. Among the most authentic Ontario Inns, each guestroom and cottage suite at the Sherwood Inn is decorated to reflect t
Dinner 1- tenderloin steak and scallops, dinner 2 - lamb chops. Fabulous both. Tenderloin melted in your mouth.Very nice presentation. Great wine list. Loved it, Breakfast was buffet style, plenty of fruit, baked goods, cereals, Yogurts, Pancakes, French toast and the BEST EGGS BENEDICT I have ever had. on a buffet.Days later I still want more.
On arrival, I didn't even know it was open. The restaurant also is a variety store. I seated myself in an empty restaurant where the floor was filthy. I mean disgustingly filthy. I sat beside a window that was cloudy with grime, insects and spider webs. The place smelled of mildew. My view was of a neglected, overgrown landscape with an open gas can and a dead hanging plant. There was broken lattice, broken windows. After fifteen minutes or so, my fish and chips arrived but was a very small portion with one piece of Haddock, fries that were under cooked and tasted of burnt oil. No garnish or lemon wedge. I ordered a Pepsi and I received it in a dirty glass. The fish was decent, but not worth the $11.95 they were askingâon top of finding out they had no debit, I was directed to an ATM that charges you $2.00 to use. I will never return.

A great year round waterfront restaurant. We are adjacent to local marina with fantstic view of lake muskoka. . Patio-Restaurant-Lounge.. Lunch and dinner are served in a quaint but causal atmosphere. We cook from scratch and our Menus change weekly . Our
My boyfriend and I have visited the restaurant twice this summer and have been wowed both times. On our most recent visit, we had French onion mushrooms to start followed by the blind lunch and trout salad. The blind lunch was a veal chop and vegetables in what can only be described as a magical chocolate kaluha sauce. Everything is made with fresh ingredients and showcases the chefâs love of creating unique, flavourful dishes. Connie and Jenni took care of our table and were delightful. The website says âCome as guests, leave as friendsâ. We really did feel welcome. My only complaint is that we canât come more often! We canât wait to return next year!

We were staying at the JW Marriott Rousseau for a couple of days and other restaurants didn't get great reviews, so we thought we'd take a chance on The Pie Wood Fired Pizza Joint. We were not disappointed. Fast friendly service and lovely food. There is both inside & outside seating.( great if the weather is good). We liked the food so much we came a second time , and is was just as good .The food was piping hot, with lots of flavour. Just beware, the beer I asked for was $11.50 a pint!!If you're coming here for the first time, park your car , walk down past the hotel and head for the waterfront. You can't miss it.
The place speaks for itself. The carpets are filthy, the place is dark, the restaurant is begging for a facelift or at least a coat of cleaner or paint. But if you need a pizza from a Garland - it is about the only game in town. My advice is takeaway always. No reason to eat there but lots of reasons to take a pizza home.

Frankly, this restaurant might be great for lunch too, but I was there for breakfast. The decor has a firefighter them, with pictures and equipment based on firefighting. A little unusual, but it does give the place some character and the restaurant feels pretty cozy. This was during the week in July. The place was about half full. Service was very good, with two waitresses serving about 5 tables. Food was good and arrived in good time.Prices were pretty much in line with this type of restaurant in Muskoka.I would definitely come here again.

Casual fine dining restaurant located in the heart of Muskoka in beautiful Bala. Fresh fish, steaks, pastas, and so much more. Enjoy watching the sunset down the Moon River from the screened in porch, or from the dining room. Reservations are suggested an
We live just south of Bala in Gravenhurst and like to visit this restaurant often.. Bala is a charming little town in the Muskoka district in Ontario. We love all the food here and really suggest trying this restaurant. The staff is super friendly and the chef must love the food as well because he is a really big guy! If you haven't tried the Moon River, check it out! They used to close for the winter season but I understand that they will now be open year round.

The building next to the Kee has been many things; from the original âEldoradoâ, the âBob Innâ, the Lantern Loft dress shop to the âKee Caféâ. Established in 2002, the Bala Falls Pub has been welcoming locals, cottagers and visitors alike to its relaxing
Bala Falls Pub...a gastro pub with heart. Very good beers and amazing comfort food...Flat Breads galore, good wings and we had a Carnivorous Quesadilla too. Yummy :)

Castle Blue is a unique space - and you should arrive clearly understanding that this is not a roadhouse. The owner/chef Ted cooks everything himself. Heâs a one man show and he cares about everything. So you have to be patient when itâs busy but itâs worth every minute. His team is amazing - so food. Yes, there are some specialties. His dry ribs are famous. They are fall off the bone delicious with an almost crispy exterior. A serving isnât enough for a full dinner - youâll need a side or an appetizer - but these are not to missed. The burgers are great and the fries and poutine another specialty. His Caesar salad dressing is home made. Not from Gordon Food Services or Sysco but from scratch and tangy goodness. There arenât many tables inside so if you are a group arriving slightly out of peak time might be better unless itâs nice for a table outside. They have a modest beer selection but have picked a few goodies. It isnât full of ambiance - Iâd love to give it a makeover. Just a few touches inside to make it less sterile. I really think it would benefit so much from a few design touches. He operates an exceptional kitchen and the dining area could be upgraded to reflect his otherwise high standard of excellence. But if you have to be outstanding somewhere in your restaurant, itâs pretty amazing when it is the kitchen!
