Whether you’re exploring Vermont’s covered bridges, visiting Quechee Gorge or skiing at Killington, you’ll find Vermont to be picture-perfect. If you’re the outdoorsy type, you’ll love Vermont. In winter, of course, there’s plenty of skiing and snowboarding. In the warmer months, however, Vermont offers plenty of opportunities for hiking, biking, fishing and boating. If you enjoy boating, swimming and fishing, a vacation rental on Lake Champlain might be perfect for you.

Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence “Hall of Fame” winner, Robert Frost Mountain Cabins offer spacious, artisan-crafted, timber frame cabins with spectacular mountain views. Each cabin has 2 bedrooms, bath, kitchen, living/dining room and screened back porch. Nestled on 112 acres bordering the Green Mountain National Forest, our charming cabins include all of the contemporary comforts and are conveniently located near Middlebury and a short distance from Middlebury College’s Main and Bread Loaf Campuses. We offer year round short term or extended stay lodging.
Our expectations for the Robert Frost Cabins were high, given all of the rave reviews, but they weren’t just met, but were exceeded. We stayed in Cabin #2, Sunrise Vista, and it looked brand new, even though we knew it wasn’t. It was absolutely pristine. It’s spacious enough and well equipped enough to make a perfect base for a long-term stay; unfortunately, our stay was limited to three days. Carol and Marty are extremely personable and kind and strike the perfect balance of being welcoming but not intrusive. And yes, the cinnamon twists provided on the first morning of your stay lived up to their scrumptious reputation! The cabins are also in an excellent location for making interesting day trips. In a word, they are perfect.

East of Burlington and a short drive from Stowe, Vermont is Sterling Ridge Resort in Jeffersonville. This quaint cabin resort, once an 8 room Inn, now includes 362 acres, 24 log cabins, and 2 larger houses. All cabins and houses are equipped with full kitchen, free WiFi, grill, fire pit and much more. Get active right outside your door with access to walking trails on property and hiking trails nearby in Smugglers’ Notch or just enjoy the outdoors relaxing on your very own covered porch. The property also boasts a large pond - perfect for paddling or fishing and an outdoor heated pool in the summer months.
Our last minute getaway turned out to be a first of many more to come at Sterling Ridge. We went for the hiking and loved Smugglers Notch and Stowe but were surprised how much more we loved our cabin! From the friendly and easy check in to the spotless comfortable cabin Sterling Ridge went above and beyond to give us a fun memorable experience. Nearby shopping and restaurants and brewpubs, a fabulous rail trail, gorgeous scenery and walks, kayaking and the creemees! We relaxed by our fire pit every evening and adored the big front deck listening to the babbling brook. I have my sister to thank for recommending Sterling Ridge cabins, you don’t have to thank me just go! You won’t be disappointed.

My partner and I stayed at Jackson's Lodge recently for two overnights. Mark and Gloria are very friendly and excellent hosts. They provided wonderful tips for birdwatching, local places to eat (try out April's Maple) and nature drives with especially beautiful vistas. The room was great (Cub room) with a deck, the Lodge building is filled with nature memorabilia and history and we enjoyed playing ping pong there. Highlights include their wonderful bird feeders that attracts lots of hummingbirds, pine siskins and rose-breasted grosbeaks and adorable red squirrels. We saw two moose nearby, eagles flying across the lake plus loons yodeling, witnessed a dramatic storm that came in across the lake and a specular sunset afterwards and enjoyed walking their property and seeing a woodcock mating flight at dusk. A perfect weekend and we plan to come back soon.

Will have to say the view is outstanding. Unfortunately we were not able to enjoy boating on the lake, due to weather. The booking and check in process is very efficient. The RV pads were excellent. On the negative side, the sites are on top of each other, there is no internet on the sites, and we were told internet was available on the porch which was about 80 ft from our site. A simple booster would cover the whole park. There was also no tv connections, which wouldn’t be a problem in good weather, but would have been great on a very rainy day.

A beautiful campground and cabin resort located in the heart of the Upper Valley of Vermont. Numerous sightseeing destinations within a short drive, such as Vermont's only National Park, the Marsh Billings Rockefeller NHP. The Vermont Institute of Natural Science is a neighbor as well. They have the largest exhibit of birds of prey in the northeastern United States. The famous "little grand canyon of Vermont" is 2 miles away, the Quechee Gorge. Known for it's beautiful clear water, it's a great day hike. This campground and cabin resort has many luxurious cabins to choose from, complete with full bathrooms, a/c, kitchenettes and flat screen TV's. All cabins sleep at least 4 people, and many sleep up to 6. Many of the rv sites come complete with hand laid pavered patio's and stone firepits. Stop by and see why this resort is the upside of outside!
Great campgrounds! This was a last minute girls trip and this was the ONLY site we could find left within a 50 mile radius...we were VERY lucky. Wonderful staff!! Extremely clean grounds and even cleaner bath house! Wood & ice delivery to you your site within minutes of requesting it. Thank you for your hospitality. p.s. Apologies if we were a bit loud after 10pm on Sunday during the Bills big win over Kansas City!! LOL

Absolutely delightful stay. The cabin was extremely clean (truly imacculate) and well furnished. The bed was very comfortable, plenty of space. The kitchen and dishwasher was very helpful and the grounds were beautifully landscaped. The pool was lovely and we felt like we had the place to ourselves. We appreciated the contact free check in and had no problems.

This KOA is AMAZING! The staff are the friendliest ever, and super helpful. We stayed in Cabin 1 and just loved the original cabins from the 40's. The general store had everything you needed and there are trails to walk super close. We just cannot say enough! Loved our stay!

We have been coming to Mountain View Campground for 3 years now and we enjoy every minute of it. In fact, this review is WAY overdue. We found this perfect Gem of a location during 2020 Covid summer. It was such a nice, much needed tranquil escape. We are treated like family when we come here. The owners make us feel so welcome and comfortable. Sometimes we trade beers! #cheers The campground is perfectly manicured, clean and meticulously looked after. Every detail is thought about and nothing is over looked. The bathrooms are cleaner than most homes. The laundry room is spotless. If you are looking for Mountain Views, they are down by the river. Grab your chairs and plop them into the water and look down river at sunset to watch the sun set ? behind the mountains ⛰. Breweries near by galore! Go explore. Hiking, mountain biking? No problem. Ample trails near by! Go explore! Super fair prices in the camp store! We make a point to support the camp store before going up the road! If they don’t have something then we will go to the store. Otherwise we get our beer, ice, firewood etc at the store first. #supportsmallbusiness This Campground ⛺️ Is a 10 out of 5 stars ⭐️!!

The campground is immaculate and decorated with care. We loved having the river right behind us and sat out there for hours listening to it. It was very relaxing. Rules are enforced, and there are a lot of them, which isn’t a problem for us. However, if your pup is a barker, this is not the place for you. Barking dogs are not tolerated at all. And If you leave your dog in the camper while you go out, they WILL call you to complain about it. So, if your dog isn’t a noisy one, or you don’t have a dog, this is a very nice and clean campground to visit. Get a site on the water and you will not be disappointed. It’s not deep, but the sound of the water running through is fabulous.
