Jungle Stop Over
Reviewed By jasono712Stayed here as part of an organised tour. We loved our stay here! We were in the bottom bungalows which were clean and spacious. We had our own private garden which we often saw Toucans in which meant we had some great pictures and videos. The room had a double bed and a single bed in, No air con, but I don’t think we needed it. Bathroom was clean and had a jacuzzi bath in, which i did try out! Wi-Fi was great as each bungalow seemed to have their own router in the room. Breakfast was one of the best pancakes I have ever tasted! A huge thick soft pancake with syrup! Was gorgeous! The only downside is the hotel is quite isolated so there isn’t much around it apart from 2 restaurants which can be quite pricey, but this isn’t a negative of the hotel

Bad Security - Risk of Theft
Reviewed By 763anonymousaThe hotel was lovely. However, my laptop was stolen out of the room, even though it was out of sight. Since they are all separate units, it is easy for people to see if you are in your room or not since cars are parked outside of the rooms. Also, there is no good security. Brian at the front desk was helpful, as was the police, but the owner of the hotel treated us as a problem that wouldn't go away when we tried to figure out what happened. The groundskeeper said the window had been broken for 2 years. If you have no valuables this is a nice place to stay but beware of leaving anything in the room. A rainjacket was also stolen.

Reviewed By Jan Dtermalitas de Arenal is a Costa Rican family fun place to relax. Nine pools of various temperatures are surrounded by trees and flowers. Bring in your own food or purchase at the snack bar. These pools are abour a 10 minute taxi ride from the center of La Fortuna. We didn't intend to spend the day, but found it hard to leave.

Reviewed By HelenStewpotStayed two nights here to visit Poas volcano (bad luck it was too cloudy!) and La Paz waterfall park (well worth the USD 45 entry). Hotel owners from Italy. Extremely friendly and helpful. Dined in hotel first night and the delicious pasta would probably have been enough for all three of us - huge portion!! Owners very helpful with information about the region and bus times. Lovely meeting their dog Baloo too!

Reviewed By settledown64Good value, nice accommodations and hospitable people. Enjoyed the pool and the breakfast. It was a good location close to the volcano and other activities such as a rock jumping spot and hot springs.

Last minute option after being detoured from Guanacaste
Reviewed By JeoviedWe were in our way back home from Liberia but the road was closed by locals on strike. We had to take the Caña-La Fortuna route to get home earlier than the 6 hours delay in the original route however; it was dark and also was raining. Very dangerous for driving so we searched a place to stay for the night. Cabinas Doña Alicia was the Oasis in the desert. Nice and clean rooms and very comfortable beds. Close to restaurants in downtown La Fortuna. Doña Alicia is so kind and helpful. She woke up earlier than usual to prepare our breakfast which was delicious and beyond what I expected.

Reviewed By petermK6487KZCabinas Piuri offers a great combination of lush rainforest location in the Tenorio foothills, access to hiking, swimming, and eco-tours, and warm hospitality from host Alexander and his family. It also provides excellent value with reasonable cabin rates that include very hearty breakfasts and plenty of fresh coffee every morning. The rooms are kept very clean and well-equipped (mini-fridge, fan, etc.). A very nice place to spend some time savouring the abundant nature in this part of Costa Rica.

Tranquility & hospitality extraordinaire.
Reviewed By asgert2013I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Lumbres del Arenal Cabinas y Villas, for an unforgettable 10 days. This family owned, small resort, located just on the foothills of the Arenal volcano, about 10 km outside of La Fortuna, and 3 km from the Tabacon hotsprings, is just a beautiful hidden gem. In the middle of nature, surrounded by wildlife, and with an amazing vista of the volcano, you can just sit back in the lush garden and enjoy the tranquility. The owners are some of the kindest people I have ever met, and they did more than one could expect, to make you feel at home. The rooms are great at the price, and both clean and comfortable. The resorts own Steakhouse/restaurant "El Novillo del Arenal" is definitely also worth a visit. All in all, I absolutely enjoyed my 10 days here. If you are looking for cheap accommodation in the middle of nature, but close enough to the many attractions surrounding volcano Arenal. If you like me prefer nature, wildlife and tranquility instead of luxury resorts, all while enjoying the amazing hospitality of the owners. Look no further!

Lugar de encanto: espectacular!
Reviewed By El_TuridduNo, no es nada fácil llegar, pero este lugar tiene de verdad muchissimo encanto, en el medio de la naturaleza. Tienen cabañas y un restaurante con comida casera si uno esta de paseo. Creo que cambiaron gestión porque no encontramos la misma gente que antes: pero muy bien!!
