Great camping

Reviewed By Joseph P

Perfect location, staff went out there way to ensure great stay. Facilities perfect. We camped on a Standard pitch, option of shaded or open. Felt very secure and safe during our stay. Amazing private beach for the lake!!! Amazing food, all the staff seemed very close which was nice to see. Food exceptional at great prices. Didn't go to the bar at night or see the entertainment but could here a lot of people and music so it must have been good. Will be returning soon! Strange decision of loud music from the toilets.

Not as expected

Reviewed By Tombolton82

After a very good greeting when we arrived, being met by a guy called Bobby who looks after everything on site. He told us we got there a bit early as reception was shut. He parked us up and sent us for a drink and told us to explore the site, really nice guy. The site is very nice and shady. The pitches are a good size, the restaurant is very reasonably priced and the pizzas are great. We had a small issue as we have a massive tent and a big van. Our original pitch didn’t quite fit us in as it had a tree in a funny position and the reception moved us to a neighbouring pitch which was a better for us without any problem which was great. Our main issues were that the beach isn’t where you would really want to go for a swim. There are loads of little boats moored up just off of the shore and the water isn’t particularly nice. The showers have a token system. You get a wrist band which you have to swipe before your 6 minutes allocation. We were given 9 credits for a family of 4 for 5 nights. When we ran out we had to wait until the next day for the reception to open and take our band in for it be begrudgingly recharged. I’ve never experienced this before on any campsite. The main issue was the noise. There are a lot of resident people on the site. Probably 80% of the pitches. The children are incredibly noisy until well past midnight. We didn’t feel that this was acceptable on a campsite where people are on holiday. We left the site early as we didn’t feel like it was somewhere to enjoy our holiday and moved on to another campsite.
