This is an interesting old building housing a pub with rooms. It is 0.5km off the best part of the Sandstone trail. The staff are lovely, the food is good (especially breakfast) and it is reasonably priced. No hestitation in highly recommending it to walkers

Green Acres Caravan Park is a tranquil touring park that is exclusively for adults.
This is the first time and will not be the last that we have stayed here. Everything about the site was just spot on! Clean, well looked after, just immaculate! Hosts, very friendly, welcoming and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Will definitely be returning and would recommend it to anyone, even as an overnighter! Many thanks!

Waterside House is a beautifully situated family run Lake District campsite situated right on the northern shores of Ullswater. Perfectly positioned at the foot of Barton Fell, it is an ideal base for mountain biking, walking, sailing, fishing, paddleboarding, wakesurfing and pony trekking or simply relaxing. Services available include: •Camping •Glamping Tipi Hire •Rowing Boat, Canoe and Kayak Hire •Mountain Bike Hire The pretty village of Pooley Bridge is one mile from the campsite and can be easily reached by road or the lakeshore footpath. Here you will find local shops and cafes as well as a few inns serving excellent bar food and traditional real ales.
We had a fantastic four night stay camping over the Jubilee weekend. Access straight onto Ullswater for paddleboards , kayaks etc. We were concerned about space for our immense tent as we didn't have a reserved electric pitch but we needn't have worried as the site was at maximum capacity and there was still plenty of room. We pitched at the end farthest from reception and the shower blocks as it was quieter. The Gathering onsite cafe was okay but pricey ( as was Pooley Bridge itself ) ! Very nice 15 - 20 min lakeside walk into Pooley bridge. We've booked the bell tents for late summer so we obviously liked it.

BY FAR THE BEST GLAMPING SITE IN CUMBRIA & A 5 STAR GLAMPING EXPERIENCE (would give it more if I could)! We have visited other glamping sites in the Lake District & surrounding areas & this is by far our favourite. This was our 3rd visit to Pasturewood with family & friends & we will definitely be returning. Our pods were immaculate & had every comfort needed. We loved the wood fired hot tubs & our children enjoyed the play area. We had use of the barbecue hut which was well equipped & very cosy - great for us all to get together. It’s only about 25 minutes to the Lake District so the perfect setting if you’re wanting to get out & explore & 10-15 mins to Carlisle, 20 mins to Scotland. Would like to thank Richard, Rachel, Ellen & Owen for being fantastic hosts. Hope to see you again soon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

Amazing lodge, what a find! This is a great hidden gem! The lodge is very modern and clean, the decor is beautiful and the little extra touches were really thoughtful. Staff on site have been very helpful and welcoming. We loved the hot tub after our days in the lakes! We loved the pizza van and breakfast van on site also, perfect after a long day.

The winner of many top-quality awards, Park Cliffe is set in 25 acres of picture-postcard countryside above the eastern shores of Windermere with sweeping views across the lake. Yet family-owned Park Cliffe enjoys easy access to the M6, putting it within easy reach of many major towns and cities in northern England. Just a short distance from Bowness-on-Windermere, the park is in a world of its own with breathtaking views over fell, lake and an abundance of woodland wildlife - squirrels, roe and red deer, foxes and birds - in evidence all around. In fact, TV botanist David Bellamy is an especially big fan of Park Cliffe, and has presented it with his prestigious Gold Conservation Award for its work in protecting the natural environment. There are lots of great walks right on the doorstep and the park's natural features - especially the meandering shallow beck - are even more popular with children than our specially designed adventure play areas! Whether you arrive at Park Cliffe with tourer or tent, hire a caravan or camping pod or to enjoy a regular break in your own luxury static caravan or lodge, you'll find a warm welcome from our friendly staff, plus peace, comfort and fresh air aplenty in this most beautiful location - with a range of modern amenities to tempt even the most discerning traveller. Cumbria, of course, offers many places to visit and things to do and Park Cliffe offers the perfect base for exploring this beautiful area.
We stayed in a family camping pod in May half term and had a great family holiday. Plenty of information on the park website and in emails before arrival regarding what facilities are available on site and activities in the local area. On arrival we were shown to our pod by a friendly staff member. The pod was clean and worth the price for not having to faff with a tent! The view of lake Windermere was great and it was so peaceful having a cuppa enjoying the stunning view! The toilets and showers were clean and after a hike on the Sunday we'd hired a private bathroom so we could use a bath. The private bathrooms were clean and the baths were nice and big. We found all staff friendly and helpful and I thought food and bar prices were reasonable and on a par with what you'd pay in a holiday venue. We enjoyed it so much we've already booked for next May half term!

The Quiet Site has been welcoming visitors to Ullswater for more than 50 years. Accommodation includes Glamping Burrows, Gingerbread Houses, Glamping Cabins, Luxury Cottages, Camping Pods and pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes. We run as a carbon neutral business using biomass and solar heating, reed bed water treatment technology, lots of recycling, a brand new zero waste shop and energy efficient glamping units. The site has won numerous awards and continues to try to live up to the idyllic setting we occupy. Recent awards include Top 100 site 2021, a Queens Award for innovation 2020, Visit England Silver 2020, AA Campsite of the Year NW 2020. We were the only Holiday Park in Britain to make THE TIMES Cool Places to Stay list in 2019. Family Friendly and probably the greenest park in the Lake District. Our bar dates from the 16th Century and is nationally recognised as one of the coolest in England. We are open year round. Visit our website or follow us on social media to get a better feel for our holiday experience. The Quiet team is friendly and professional and go out of their way to make sure you have a top holiday. We are very lucky to have one of Britain's Best walks start at our door, the walk to Aira Force Waterfalls. Return to the site or continue on and get the steamer to Pooley Bridge where you can walk back to us.
We stayed in a camping pod for 2 nights. There's so many great facilities on-site: bar, stone baked pizza hut (which also does hot drinks and breakfast cobs/crepes), dog walk, park etc. The site has a little shop also and everything is geared towards being eco friendly. We spent most of our time out walking so will be returning again for longer so we can enjoy the site more. Also there are red squirrels in this location which made it even more special.
