Laid-back Ella draws travelers to Sri Lanka's highlands with its mountain forests, tea plantations, and relatively cool climate. The wildlife-rich region is also home to caves, cascades, and secluded temples—plus the Ella Gap, which offers lofty views between a cleft in two hills.

Double room with balcony with attach toilets and hot water. All rooms are with mini fridges and Hammocks with WIFI free.
I had a nice big room with a wonderful view over Ella. You have a safety box, refrigerator, water heater and dishes. I traveled there with my own Tuktuk and had a parking space there. I can totally recommend it

4 room holiday bungalow with 4 attached bathrooms (1 wooden bathroom). Living and dining area with satellite TV and hot water. Fantastic view with cool climate.
We came across this place on a drive after being let down by where we had booked, and were so happy we did! We took the upstairs room and the view was unbelievable. The bed was so comfy, the bathroom is clean and modern and the shower was great. The hosts were so lovely and friendly and brought us delicious tea. This was our favourite place of the whole trip!

Enjoyed to stay in the Ella retreat and booked the yoga and meditation option there. We had a wonderful time in the nature and enjoyed 2 h yoga per day in the morning and evening. Our yoga teacher Kumara Sumithraarachchi was doing a really good job for beginners but also advanced and showed as around in ella. The retreat is 10 min from Ella but coming and going by tuktuk was well organized. Breakfast was always good and the whole staff was very friendly and supporting. We will come back.

The untapped wonders of a traveler's journey are full of both anticipation and mystery. Every move towards the unknown, the unheard or unseen creates an awareness that’s not just magical and exciting, but equally intimidating. This is where we, at Backpackers Paradise can step in to guide you. Backpackers paradise is a beautiful and relaxing camping site located in the lovely town of Ella.
We were a group of 5 stayed at backpackers paradise on 2nd of December after a very long day.by the time we got there our tents were ready and they were super clean.and not to forget the view from the rent. Tents are facing a tea plantation and when you wake up it please your eyes.owner is super flexible and even he arranged us a private Party to enjoy our night.we enjoyed our stay there and definitely will be back again. Staffs are friendly and ready to fulfill your requests at any time, Keep it up guys.thumbs up to your place. Most importantly this place is located in the heart of the ella city.

We enjoyed a nice couple of days here. Lasitha and Flore are truly lovely hosts and went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our time. It was my boyfriend's birthday and they even made him a special breakfast! The rooms have a great view and it's a great spot to hike from, although a bit far out of town, the location makes up for this by being so peaceful and quiet. Would definitely book again.

Upon first arriving, basic amenities such as Shampoo, Conditioner, body wash - and most importantly at this time, hand wash. Even upon requesting these things be provided, the owners couldn’t have cared less. We ended up purchasing these items from a local supermarket. A couple of hours into our stay the sink began to leak - flooding our bathroom and we tried to contain the situation by using the provided towels so the water wouldn’t spread - once again we immediately contacted the owner again, and once again, they couldn’t have cared less. We left to explore the town, giving the owners the keys in thought that the issue would be resurrected by the time we returned. Upon returning, the sink was fixed - but all the wet towels used were now sitting in another corner of the room, creating this disgusting smell and when I contacted the owner yet again to ask if this could be removed and replaced - they brought us new towels but didn’t want to take the old, smelly towels, which then stayed in our room (we placed them on the balcony, but the smell still lingered) until the day we departed. Lastly, and what has completely tipped me over the edge, enough to reach out to every booking platform to make sure that this cabin gets no business moving forward until they get their sh*t together - the owner called me at 9.30pm the night before our departure date requesting that I pay for the Checkout upon returning that night. Not a problem, the owner quoted me a new price, in which, because this was a new price I asked on several occasions during the phone call “so $xx is the new price you would like me to pay” and the owner reassured me, that yes, this is the new price. This phone conversation was also the first time I was being told that there was no eftpos facility, so I went to an ATM and took out the money. Upon returning to the cabin, the owner was not there so I called him again and he let me know that to pay in the morning was fine. Morning of departure: check out was a disaster. I called the owner once again to confirm this new price before I checked out - in which he confirmed on loud speaker to myself, my partner, our driver and his staff member the new price. The staff member corrected the owner to a different (double) price in which the owner then decided that’s what he wanted instead. So here I am, sitting with half the amount of money - because the management here have no idea what it is they’re charging, what their crappy, un-accomodating little hole of a room is worth. I was then completely ganged up on by staff members and the owner and was told that someone will FOLLOW ME to the ATM so I could give them the money that they are now re-quoting me. This place, it’s staff and the owner are an absolute joke - scamming people and making them feel unsafe til they cave in.
