According to famed diver Jacques Cousteau, the Great Blue Hole of Belize is one of the most spectacular dive sites on earth. The crystal-clear sapphire waters are home to colorful tropical fish and several species of reef sharks – ideal for brave divers who love to get up close and personal with sea life. On dry ground, diverse rainforests, mangrove swamps, and Mayan ruins are perfect for exploration. The beaches of Belize are sunny and tranquil spots for a day of relaxation.

Tiny cute place that gives you emotions, relax, new friendship. Wooden modern house.
Cute, very-clean cabanas in Caye Caulker. The host was very friendly and helpful. Located in a residential neighborhood, not too far from the airport, but you can walk anywhere in Caye Caulker in 10-15 minutes. Great value!

Nature Resort is a small resort nestled in the Community Baboon Sanctuary in Bermudian Landing, Belize District. It provides a good opportunity to see the Howler Monkeys and explore other flora and fauna of the rain forest.
Stay here if you want a quiet, gorgeous place. The food is delicious, varies, and affordable. The owners are kind. You're also right near a monkey walk. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful place.

Toucan Ridge Ecology and Education Society (T.R.E.E.S) is a not-for-profit society that operates a research and education center in the rainforest of Belize called the T.R.E.E.S Hosting Center. Our centre is biologist-managed and we offer fully featured facilities for individuals, groups, conferences, NGOs, researchers, and students interested in learning about the local flora and fauna. We offer private cabins (shared outside bathrooms and private ensuite bathroom), dorm rooms, and thatch-roofed platforms for camping. Meals can be taken at our on-site restaurant or via catering from the nearby village. We also offer communal kitchen facilities for those wishing to prepare their own meals. All toilets are flush toilets and showers are hot water. Purified drinking water is available on site. We are easily accessible by public bus. Activities offered at T.R.E.E.S include: bird watching and bird banding, stream ecology, night walks, herpetofauna surveying, waterfall hiking, swimming in jungle swimming holes, and much more!
My volunteership with T.R.E.E.S. was an incredible and enriching learning experience. T.R.E.E.S. hosted my friend and me for three weeks. We got to explore the many different aspects of organic farming, permaculture, and Belizean culture. We came as volunteers through Workaway and were glad to find ample opportunity to serve the center in various ways. Our most rewarding experiences were learning to care for the many farm animals, getting introductions and lessons about natural fertilization techniques through farm tours, baking goods for their weekly market, and creating a toucan sculpture out of recyclable materials found on site. The roles as volunteers we played here were unique because there was great flexibility to find work that suited our strengths and interests. It is wonderful that the staff is very receptive to any assets their volunteers can contribute to the center. Matt, Vanessa, and the other staff members were excited to get us involved in both the workload and T.R.E.E.S. community. We worked five days in a week and had two days off to travel within the country. The bus route passes T.R.E.E.S., so it was easy to take day and weekend trips to nearby cenotes and beach towns like Placencia and Hopkins. Our stay was comfortable and relaxing in our cabin, Coati. It was nice to have space at the end of a workday to decompress and enjoy scenic views of the jungle. The site is gorgeous and creates a perfect balance for the hard work and getaway spot T.R.E.E.S. offers. Thank you to all the staff members and other volunteers who made our volunteership even more fulfilling. This was an experience we will never forget!

This place has the most disrespectful person working there by the name of Damian. He has disrespected many women living on caye caulker. How could you have someone that has no respect for women working at a place like this

Bill and Jenny are amazing hosts; so welcoming, warm and friendly. Our 6-night stay at their beautiful resort was filled with lovely meals and great conversation. Our cabin had everything we needed and it was so romantic sleeping under a vaulted palapa roof. The surrounding jungle is alive with sound - chirps and birdsong. The location of their property is in a protected bay and you get amazing daily sunsets that you can watch from shore or floating in water as warm as a bath. We took a 15-20 minute bike ride to the Mayan ruins (the oldest and only seaside ruins in Belize) and we could have also chosen to walk or kayak to the ruins. Jenny booked an all-day boat ride/snorkeling/fishing trip to the Bacalar Chico Nature Park and Marine Reserve (BCNP-MR) for us where we ate conch ceviche fresh from the sea and made on the boat. We also enjoyed Sangria made with Bill's own hibiscus wine. One of the fish caught was my dinner that night. Having lived here over 16 years, Bill & Jenny introduced us to neighbours and locals. This is their home and they invited us to share it with them. This is not your typical resort vacation. It is truly relaxing and we got a taste of Belizian life that we loved! This is 'off the grid' at its best and we look forward to returning.

Bulls Beach Cabanas is a family owned establishment. The manager, Juicy Bull, is a heart-warming and affable individual who will ensure that your stay at her beach cabana is unforgettable!
My wife and I booked a trip to Placencia Belize with a three night stay at bulls beach cabanas. We made the reservations several months in advance and paid in full for a beach front cabana. Upon arrival, we learned that the person in charge had given our cabana to another couple because she stated that she had injured her knee and was under the influence of drugs and made a mistake. She did offer us a room in what I suppose you could call a hotel nearby the cabanas. Not beachfront. She advised that this very small dirty room was actually an upgrade because it had air-conditioning. We were very unhappy with the room but felt that we had no choice. The air-conditioning barely worked and the room was still stifling hot. We requested a stand fan in an effort to be able to sleep that night. We observed cockroaches in the room, and the toilet Was not properly secured to the floor. The next morning we returned the keys to the front office and left Bulls Beach Cabanas in search of another place to stay for our next two nights until we checked in to the resort that we booked. in conclusion, the room was very dark and dingy with in adequate air-conditioning or ventilation. We were very very unhappy with the conditions and the fact that what we rented and paid in full was not available to us. We were not offered any money back or any other options to make us more comfortable.

Get a wonderful esperience of the cultures here in Belize. we provide you with a wonderful experience from our medicinal trail to river tubing, paddle boarding, and you can also request a massage. get to dance to the rythmn of the drums... come have a spectacular time only with us RawSpa.
My parents and I were driving through Belize and stayed here for four nights. The owner has decided to long-term rent many of the cabanas, but she had one available for us. It was right on the river and incredibly beautiful! We contacted her personally, not through trip advisor or any other site. She is unreliable through the websites because she may have rented out the cabanas to show-up travelers. The property is truly amazing and the river is a wonderful swim. There is a common area with a hammock, fridge and kitchen. The wifi works great. Be prepared for a 'no judgement' attitude (ie. Drinking or drugs) in the common areas. The owners were very helpful with local information and what to see or do around town. I definitely recommend this place.

Our family had a great time at the Chaya Maya Jungle Eco lodge. The staff were superb and friendly and ever so helpful. The location is quite interesting with a wide variety of Belize wildlife and we saw many more animals than we were able to snap a picture of. Howling Monkeys and various Iguanas made up most of the sightings but also a screen owl, several Toucan’s, a crocodile, spider monkeys, many birds, were among some of the animals we saw. When we arrived in Belize we were met by the transfer arranged by Chaya Maya who had been assigned to us for the entire trip. He was great and super knowledgable about the entire Cayo district. He arranged the tours we did and those went very well — the day long trip to Tikal Guatemala, cave tubing, zip lining, etc. We did visit the Belize Zoo on our way to Chaya Maya which I recommend — it gave us good views of the different wildlife we might see so we knew a bit more about what to watch for. We had the 4 night, 3-day package and spent one day on a 2 hour tour through the jungle around Chaya Maya run by local staff who explained multiple trees, how some are poison and the ones next to them are the antidote. Hands-on examples of how the different barks work, how roofs are made out of palms, jungle candy, water vines, etc. Our family found it all totally fascinating. Even an example of cocoa and to suck off the inside white pulp off of the cocoa beans which is faintly sweet. Chaya Maya itself is somewhat primitive — there are only three cabanas there and our family had all three for the 6 of us. Portable cots are available to get a few more folks into the cabana’s so a family size of 6-9 could likely be accomodated. If you are used to Yurt camping in the pacific northwest, the cabana’s were multiple steps above those. The weather for our visit was a bit rainier and colder than is typical — down to 54 F one night although warming up quickly to mid 70’s once the sun came out. But one does get a bit dirty there and the unheated rain showers encouraged very quick washing. :-) The staff were wonderful — Marta cooked all our meals, Belizian meals, which were all fantastic. Lots of beans, rice, tortilla’s and then different types of meat such as chicken. Wonderful tender poofy fry jacks and Johnny cakes, beef and chicken empanadas, etc. There was also bacon, pork chops, and lots of eggs and cheese. She even made a good cup of coffee. She greeted us upon arrival with fresh lime juice which was also available at meals along with fresh coconut water and soursap juice. We felt so well taken care of! In addition to Marta, there are multiple staff including the site manager Byron — all of them were very helpful and worked hard to not let us accidentally injure ourselves. :-) Potable water was available at the main lodge area — we each had two water bottles and would take them up where Marta would fill them whenever needed. The staff has been working years to make Chaya Maya more and more self-sustaining. Lots of local variety of fruits grown there. And there is a large multi-terraced garden area that came with the place that could have been initially created by Mayan’s or descendants of Mayans as it matched how they farmed. As a note, we did have some limited cell coverage at the main dining lodge/patio and could send texts to family. As we had all three cabana’s, we essentially had the whole place to ourselves which was pretty nice. We could wander around the jungle trails, watch the howling monkeys, sit up at lodge eating and playing games, etc. Beer and rum punch were available but should be requested before arrival — it is a bit of a haul for the staff to get supplies and they try to have everything there that is needed upon arrival. The final leg to get to Chaya Maya requires a short boat ride on the Belize river. The boat is large enough for three plus the two staff and it took 3 total trips to get all 6 of us and our luggage. We actually had a fair amount of luggage due to heading to the beach region for snorkeling after Chaya Maya and bringing all our snorkel gear, etc. The luggage didn’t phase the staff at all — pretty impressive to see them hauling two 50 pound suitcases, one on each shoulder, up the short hill needed to get to the lodge area. Maybe not the best location for someone with mobility challenges but I was fine even with a fair amount of arthritis in my knees. Although we enjoyed the beach and snorkeling with sharks, on the second half of our trip, the time in the jungle at Chaya Maya was by far our favorite portion of our trip, along with the local tours.

I was referred here and was not disappointed. Melanie, was a fantastic host, always available and willing to recommend a local tour guide or place to eat. The rooms are basic and clean, exactly what you need when you're barely in your room.
