Lovely little converted pub run by a Christian charity as a community tea room/cafe. Lovely staff and very clean and tidy. Nothing amazing but the apple cake was very good. Not a huge selection but recommended if in the area. Benches outside if weather is good. Good prices and impressed by the cleanliness. Tables, chairs and decor all in keeping. Good to see little set ups like this.

Every bit as good as others have said. Visited after a friendâs well-founded recommendation and it didnât disappoint. We did, however, think the portion sizes were too large! It was impossible to finish my meal (scampi & chips) despite being initially hungry. I think they could reduce portion size and thereby reduce food waste )and improve their profit margin at the same time) without detrimental effect on their customer offer. My partner enjoyed her lasagne with salad, and we were delighted that they sell Luscombe soft drinks with their excellent menu. Recommended!

I had the largest fry up.....double everything as my boss was paying !I just managed to eat it all and I can eat .The quality of the cooking was perfect and the time waiting was reasonable. About 10 minutes.I can't fault this place.Top tip.....not for slimmers.

A quick lunch after the dentist. Unfortunately himself doesn't like sushi so we ended here. I chose fish & chips, which I love, but was disappointed. The fish, which was advertised as cod, was obviously cut from a large frozen slab, covered in batter & refrozen. The outside was the colour of mahogany but the inside of the batter was soggy & the fish mushy. The chips were very pale & went cold in a minute. Himself chose curry which was a bright yellow fluid with a few pieces of cubed chicken floating in it.The staff were perfectly amenable, the service was quite quick; the tables were Formica but clean. But the food is only adequate. All day breakfasts seem to feature strongly.

What a fantastic place this is, we often come here with family and friends, itâs the only place to go in Yeovil there is no where else like it for miles. Breathtaking location on edge of town with views that stretch for miles. The interior of the building will blow you away, itâs really beautiful. We love the Food, you can tell they use quality ingredients, very tasty brunch enjoyed by all of us on lots of occasions. The staff are lovely, always have a smile for us, brilliant service and it also feels such a happy place to visit, Probably why we keep going back. Coffee is great, which gets a big tick from me, but the cake, oh my days their homemade cake is just to die for. This place is marvellous, the staff are great and we would not hesitate to recommend it. Go visit you wonât be disappointed.Hello MyrtleTinkoff, Well WOW, thank you for your fantastic review we are so glad to hear you enjoy visiting The Trough and we do appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. A great selection of gins, 35 to chose from and itâs happy hour 5-7pm, buy one get one free. We had the tapas platters for 2, one french and one Spanish. They were lovely, warm flat breads accompanied cheeses, pate, meats, pickles, potatoes, olives etc. Enough for 4 and tasted great.Service was good not intrusive, but available when we needed them. Gave us plenty of time to chat without feeling pressured to order or eat. Also had some wine, not a large selection but enough to chose from and tasted fine.I would definitely eat here again and next time try either the small plates or large plates, all looked good.
